    Turn that can on its side Luke and it’ll pour smoothly - years of refuelling JCB diggers when you used to have to stand on the bonnet with a Jerry can of diesel. Mind you back in the day the bonnets were steel not plastic!

    A lot of the laybys on the A55 have a 4hr limit. It's a bit hit and miss as to whether the police enforce it, but even if they do, the parking fine is cheaper than the one for going over your hours!! If you're out of hours, they can't make you move on.

    When filling your Ad-Blue, if you're putting in the whole, or most of, that container in, punch a hole in the top behind the handle with a screwdriver. It lets the air in as you're pouring and stops the glug glug glug splashing. Great video as usual.

      No need for holes, he needs to have the can in a sideway position and it'll stop that, and for the idiot jambo calling him clueless, the man clearly stated that those containers are taken back to the yard to get refilled.

    If you're tight on time, pull in, if no good go on, wasted opportunity spotting the space after you are past it. Also in the dark, turn off all interior cab lighting. Its a lot easier seeing out in the night time. Try not to make habit of running too tight on hrs. Its not good for your physical and mental health, elevates stress levels. Over here more so. In canada there was loads of space and truck stops were huge, so finding space wasnt a worry. This is why lots of truckers try to park up early. Glad i dont tramp anymore.

    Hi Luke, I run to Dove Valley Park for GXO quite often (you'll have seen GXO as you come round the roundabout) and yes you can park on that estate overnight, some of the guys subcontracted to GXO do it regular. You can also turn right towards GXO instead of going right round and do a spinny outside GXO then park on Park Avenue. I'm hoping to get my Trucker Murdock channel running soon to help my job chances as an agency driver and it's given me an idea to point out places to park for breaks and for trampers.

    If you need to re-use the container, to stop it glugging, have the cap hole at the top (nearer you), so it pours from the highest point, and rotate it as it empties. Useless fact; places that end in 'wich' in Cheshire area are old salt mining towns.

    Surprised if you're fined for parking at that time of night. There's one near our place and it's regularly full after 6pm and if I'm on nights they are still there when I pass it in the early hours. Think it's whether the local council decide to enforce.

    Seeing the tomtom traffic issue - I have this issue constantly on the expert plus and cannot connect to MyDrive on iPhone. Really disappointed with it at the moment. No multi vehicle profiles as promised and some routes are very questionable. Tomtom don’t want to know which considering what they are charging for these devices is shocking. Would also be interested to see if you have had the black screen after using for a while? Reboot fixes but not great when you need it!

      I'm really liking my new Garmin, There are some things it's not great at but on the whole I prefer it. pros: the routing is great, they show popular truck routes as blue roads and it seems to handle 7.5 restrictions without sending you (literally) round the houses.
      It has the best reception in London, even with the tall buildings.
      You don't have to subscribe for live traffic, it's a free app for it to connect to on your phone.
      Cons: It messes up some major junctions for correct lane to be in, eg. M25 to M11 north it tells you to get into M11 London then switch to the other lane after.
      The upcoming delays are only displaying the next delay and not what else after until you pass that one.
      The lane guidance can be lacking sometimes, works great through London though.

    • @ScottLaverPhotography
      @ScottLaverPhotography Год назад

      @@jaffabeast yes I have to agree about the Garmin - have the dezl 800 which I have switched back to using after the issues I have had with the TT. Definitely the better sat nav all round. Pulling double deckers we often get given specific routes we must take and Garmin shape route feature makes this so easy but TT you have to keep adding stops. The TT does have some great features in terms of guidance and I like the 3 route options compared to Garmin offering only 2 but you are definitely getting way more for your money with Garmin. I can even watch Netflix on my Garmin and RUclips or browse the internet. The only problem I have with the Garmin is I can’t get it to show up on my mac and have to use my sons laptop but all updates can be done from WiFi anyway so no big deal really.
