What happened to having more videos on the Halo griddle?
I’ve got more planned, it’s been busy though. I will have the full review video coming VERY soon. I’m just awaiting on the 4 burner to arrive to compare it to the 2B as well.
So, I bought this based on your recommendation. (Replacing a Trager Lid Tex 22) Thanks for the video. I'm a bit nervous at the lack of content from people who've actually purchased it vs had the company send it to them for review. Seems kind of mysterious and the lack of organic content is unsettling- I tried calling Halo PG during business hours to ask questions, but gave up after being on hold for over 25min. (I hope customer service is better than that if something goes wrong. And I hope they are around for at least the 5 years of the warranty) They did respond much faster to email, so there's that. But all that to say, I feel like I'm buying blind, save for your recommendation. Hope you didn't steer me wrong. My 1500 arrives tomorrow between 8am-8pm via Fedex Freight. If it's awesome or not, I'm going to tell everyone.
Ya know, that is exactly why I waited and used this beast for about a year before making the review video. I do hope your experience will be similar to how mine has been! I know that Halo has had a ton of success with their griddles and pizza ovens but the pellet grill market has been bit tougher. Traeger, Camp Chef, Weber and others have been such big players in that arena for so long.
As far as customer support goes, they were just acquire/merged with Worthington Enterprises which is a huge company so I have no doubts about how long they will be around but I am guessing they are in some sort of transition phase with support. I’ve only had limited experience with having to call customer support but that was last year and for a completely different product.

Looking at purchasing a Prime 1500. I have seen reviews about inconsistent Temps. Have you seen this in your time with the smoker?
That has not been my experience at all. I had some odd temp issues with the prime300 (the portable one) but that was only while changing temps mid cook.
I will say, that if you ever do run into any abnormalities, it’s most likely due to the burn pot being too full of spent ash. Empty that out and should be good to go again but honestly, that’s probably after 10 or so cooks in a row without emptying it.
Are the walls and cover double insulated?

Great job on this review, brother! I am still in the market for a pellet grill, but I just don't think Halo is going to be in the running for me based off my own research so far. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely some impressive things I like about the Halo Prime series such as the quality of construction, dual auger system etc. I am just seeing some red flags in other reviews, like the lack of customer support, temp control issues, and a few things that I would consider minor. To be fair there isn't a large quantity of reviews out there, especially in depth such as yours, but it's enough for me to move on, for now. Hopefully I don't regret that, but time will tell. I am glad you are having a great experience with Halo products, and looking forward to seeing content with them in the future. Who knows, maybe I'll change my mind. Thanks, as always, for sharing!
Can you email me some links of those other reviews? I haven't seen those. Odd that they complained about customer support, I always thought it was great. I called twice (without them knowing who I was) and the service was fast and they we were in the US.
