Nomad Rich Productions actually he started his comedy act after spending time in jail, especially to keep him out of trouble, especially when he was found quickly by ABC to do Home Improvement. Shortly after he came out publicly and told everyone his past so that there was no big hidden secrets in order to be trustworthy.
Superman's cape did serve a few purposes as I recall... 1) there was a secret pouch in the cape where he stored his Clark Kent wardrobe... 2) the cape was sometimes used to wrap around the person he was carrying to protect them.... and 3) back in the day, the cape had some unique properties (stretching, indestructible, etc) that could be used in battle. But of course, the most important reason for having the cape was to have Teri Hatcher wrap herself in it !
The reason Superman and a bunch of other super heroes have capes has to do with their comic book origins. Capes made it easy to show movement and action in the format.
Well many early superheroes were based off circus strong men so I felt like the cape was there for the showmanship, it's the reasom superhero wear undies on the outside.

Regarding Norm: I'm not a frequent listener of Adam Corolla's, but Norm was apparently supposed to be on his podcast this week (or sometime recently), and didn't show up. This is what someone posted on the Norm Macdonald sub reddit a couple hours ago. "Adam made an announcement today that Norm was secretly scheduled to do a one on one interview on the podcast, but as he commonly does, he flaked and won't be showing up. The assumption is that Norm isn't in the best place right now, but he did promise to do the interview in a few weeks. Fingers crossed." He's also been shown as frequently using the cape to wrap people up for their protection, such as when pulling them from a burning building or something like that.
I just like how all these actors from the 90s have issues with superhero movies, they now dominated the box- office and is the center of attention at this point that other actors who once where liked get no attention anymore because of superheroes, but the reason why is because they already had a large fan base and that they only needed to be awaken which in this case was the MCU who awoke them

And yeah, if he shouted out those lines in a movie theater in 2018, people aren't going to be annoyed. They'll think you've been living under a rock.
Not really, for example, Superman wears the cape to look cool in order to look like a symbol for Hope. Also, people would not recognize clark as superman because when hes superman hes usually far away from regualr civilians because hes flying to get to an emergency, when he gets to an emergency the people he usually saves dont know clark therefore wouldnt recognize him as supes.
In the first season of Supergirl, they explained the cape helped with aerodynamics and steering while flying. She tried to fly without one, couldn't turn and flew face-first into a building.
