    My favorite board. Ready for my second season with it

    Nice rundown - I'd been curious about the Valhalla in particular, and this three-way comparison did a great job highlighting the standout aspects of each board. Out of curiosity, do you plan on doing a full review of the new Swift?

    Great review 🙌🏻 like always 🔥
    The new Shapeshifter have a new tip shape.
    Compared to shapertwin
    It’s a big different when U ride on it? Or this shape is just “new look” but feels on snow stays same like on shaper twin ?
    Btw. my favourite it’s a Harpoon 🙌🏻 love this board.
    “All condition killer” 😎

      Thanks! Review is coming. It still has a lot of the personality of the older Shaper Twin but the new tweaks definitely give it an evolved feel. What I liked the most is the Shape Shifter doesn't feel as washy in the tail as the old Shaper did on groomers.

    I'm 175 lbs, 5' 6'' with 10.5 boots. Would the 153 or 156 Valhalla ride better?

      Depends on what you are used to. 156 is better for your boots and weight. I'd probably go that size unless you prefer smaller boards. Then go 153

      @@thegoodridesnow Thank you for the response. I’m currently riding 154 on an all mountain freestyle board. I was leaning towards the 156 for some added length during free riding, so I think this clarifies that’s what I’ll do.

    How does the Valhalla compare to the Jones Stratos and Flagship?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  4 месяца назад

      3 pretty different boards. Flagship is the stiffest, dampest and straight lines the best. Stratos is the most fun if you want a more turny ride but it chatters a lot and doesn't ride well when conditions get even slightly uneven. Both the Stratos and Flagship, with their set back inserts, float way better than the Valhala in deep snow if you like to set it back like we do. The Valhalla feels more loose between the feet but more centered and doesn't carve as hard. It likes a more center weighted turn on that smaller camber between the feet. I would say the Cougar is more comparable to the Flagship and Stratos. It has more pop and carves harder than all the boards mentioned here but has less float than all of them though.

      @@thegoodridesnowthanks for the detailed explanation. I already own the Stratos and the Flagship. I was curious about triple camber though and wondered if the Valhalla would've been too similar to the other two. From your response, I guess they are different enough to justify a purchase.

      So I thought you were deciding on one out of the three. If you already have 2 freeride boards (Stratos and Flagship) you might be better off going with a short wide or a dedicated pow board or a snowsurf ride to diversify your quiver. Yes, all three ride differently but are still all freeride boards. Hit me here if you want to get into it more and give me the info I need to help more. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
