@@YozoOba1927kids graphics? You mean artstyle? I appreciate games today choosing different art styles. Everyone think have photorealistic graphics is the way to go but a lot of games back in day focus on different art styles. It is much appreciated today than ever
This feels different than your usual death scene. Most games when that happens, they bring out the violins and try to intensify the sadness. But here, it’s almost like the game tells you that he’s dead and there’s nothing you can do but move on with the mission. Hell, even Kiril tells you that there’s no time-basically, the game says this:”Shit just got real!” The moment where he continues the mission knowing that his captain is dead intensifies it even more-it’s like he didn’t process that moment yet. It’s not after the mission at the end of the game where it actually strikes him hard. Hands down my favorite scene of all fps games.
Who wrote the script for this?! It's awesome! Russians are all too often seen as villains in blockbuster films and games. It's great to get to root for them and feel their pain in stories like this.
TraustiGeir bro I’m Russian and we weren’t bad it was the soviets they made us suffer feel pain make us weak... we suffered for at least 80 years but finally our Russia is back 🇷🇺
Love the way they left the audio muffled as you continue to play with the music still running, amazing way of emmulating the experience of being in total shock despite having to push on. When the lead dev and musician left the dice team after BF3 I knew good things were being left behind.
When you run away from Vladimir and the music keeps playing....its ... Painful. To ever think that this could happen to anyone or that this even happened to someone had me thinking about it. So many emotions in that scene
That's Spetsnaz. Some high speed guys. Anyone curious look up Hill 3234 and recently the officer in Syria that was overrun but ordered an air strike on himself to take them out too. Say whatever you want about Russia, Spetsnaz are heroes to their country and their people.
Buy "Battlefield 3: The Russian" book by Anthony McNab. He was a former SAS soldier and makes the novel perfect. He is also my favourite author of all time. I would also recommend you read "Bravo Two Zero" also made by him, about his Unit tasked with destroying specific vehicles in Afghanistan.
The fact that everything is muffled from the scene onwards and the music still plays in his head shows that the character is still in shock and thinking of his commanders sudden death like that. This moment is so perfectly captured that I can even exactly tell what our characters facial expression would be like in this situation. But as soon as they move into the gunfire again it all goes away and he is back to reality. Gunfire is what he needed to wake him back up to his mission...
Kaffarov mission was before The Comrades. Anyway, storyline practically is: USA fights at Iraq-Iran border against PLR terrorists. USA invades Iran, fights PLR and Iranian Army and finds nuclear bombs which were stolen from Russia. Then USA tries to gather intel on bombs and they find out that it was from Russia, so USA thinks that Russia is helping PLR. USA goes to Kaffarov but is stopped by Russia. 3 Russian specops raid Kaffarov. Then 3 Spetsnaz guys go to Paris to stop bomb, but fails.
'KAFFAROV' actually took place before 'COMRADS'. Dima tells Black about the nukes & tells him to stop the nuke going to New York, while Dima & his squad stop the nuke down in Paris. "COMRADS" took place like a day after 'KAFFAROV' & a few hours before the final mission
typical discussion someone states something that is questionable then someone jumps in and is absolutely "triggered" then the other guys toy with him for a while he goes more stupid then the last guy jumps in to "finish" him off and one last guy comes to say what a *insert stupid comment here* and then a few months later i come and see how atheism is destroying our society.
I love the transition from soundtrack to combat ambience. Just little time to realize the situation and then run through bullets. Really good scripting
I wish that games that are in the modern fps genre would take pages from bf3 like this for example this is how you do a proper death scene. The emotions you feel and the chills you get is perfect.
When first played this mission, I thought i missed a part of the game or something. How can they expect you to feel for the guy if thats the first time you see him, but now I think they are trying to communicate how dima felt at the time. I think they did a great job with that.
couldnt agree more, those were written into the song by the artist. somone had mentioned maybe the designers added the beeps, but it was written that way.
The deaths in this game are just so realistic. They don’t even get chances to say their last words. Vladimir tried to at least cover Dima with his last breath then one second later he is just gone. Campo is your sergeant which looks like he is going to bring you through the whole thing (if it is in COD) then a fighter jet got him in a sudden.
This music is so dark even how the background noices where more silent imo it would have been epic if they placed it after the part where kyril finds out the portable nuke is a dummy
this game is so fucking great, everything. I miss it, had it for like 1 week and my dad broke the cd o.o Man, I was mad that night, but have come over it. Miss it :(
I wonder what's the meaning of the pistol cocking sound? Did he suicide or did he want to check if it's someone who's bad that's knocking he door? You know,i think that it was Kiril who knocked the door.
@darthkotya well i would figure that shit he went through may have ruined him i mean like with losing so much of his squad surviving that nuke it may have changed his life why dont you go to the battlefield wiki almost every game there is has a wiki and plus i think he opening his desk to pull out his pistol and theres a book about battlefield 3 its called battlefield 3 the russian which also explains more about dima's life including his background life and it reveals that dima also has a son
No, Vladimir is dead. This happened after mission Kaffarov. At the end of Kaffarov blackburn shoots cole and that's why blackburn was interrogated trough the game and during the interrogation Dima, Vladimir and that other guy went to paris and this video shows he's death
The last fight in Comrades is my biggest problem. I have the guy down on the ground and still he kills me. Maddening I tell you. Cant get past that fight.
The nuke was at the EVRONXT exchange. Given the distance you are from it and the size of the nuke (A small suitcase nuke, not a large one), it is possible, but very unlikely, to survive it. If the blast doesn't kill you, the radiation will.

One thing I love about OG COD and Battlefield 3. They didn’t portray all Russians as antagonists.

This was sad. Dima's last look back at Vladimir just made me feel bad for him :( Just how much Dima cared for him was what got me...
Even now, in 2019, I'm watching this scene with tears on my eyes...
Watching this after 10 years 👀. Will never forget how amazing this campaign was.
Sometimes you have only a couple seconds to grife the death of a fallen brother
Kaffarov mission was before The Comrades.

Dimitri dima Mayakovsky die mission 6 but saw mission 11 was first Dimitri alive before die by nuke at Paris

If you pause at the right momment you can see that theres no pole where he lands
The pole is in the air and punctures him in the air then he lands on the ground, You carry him to the wall and see hes ded.
The pole was projected into him from the rpg explosion
Pole is from exploded bus i think. We can say Schrapnel i think
True but it’s fucking dice making the saddest battlefield game
