When "Solomon's theme" starts playing, you know something serious is happening. This entire scene is just masterful. Amazing in its complexity, script and delivery.
Andy Wolf I was only a kid when I played this and I had no idea what was happening. 8 years later and this was probably the scariest scene in the game.
I agree mate. Always loved that line. The realisation that there are nuclear weapons heading to New York and Paris as they speak is a pretty terrifying moment.
Man BF3's campaign was really something. Felt like a military thriller movie. That sense of horror realizing 2 nukes were missing. HQ double-checking them saying 'WMD' hoping it was a connection error. Thats a down-to-Earth, realistic sense of terror.
Battlefield 3 was the most groundbreaking game I’ve ever played considering the leap in graphics and the realism and feel of the game, it was so far ahead of everything else, the game looked so real and was the first game to really get down lens flares and lighting. Not to mention the feel and sound of the guns felt so realistic whereas call of duty just felt like an arcade game. Going through the battlefield 3 campaign as a kid was just unreal, I felt like I was actually in the military.

They’re both great. They’re so similar. Thankfully DICE didn’t get rid of all canon established in Battlefield 3 when they released Battlefield 4 like some other developers. ... Treyarch!
one of the best scenes, it was incredibly scary, think of a real life scenario, seeing a wmd in the same room as plans over major cities and train times, would be a nightmare
@@thegodfather768 there's a mission where you play as a Dima, a Russian soldier, trying to stop a nuke with his squad in Paris from detonating, you end up failing and the nuke kills over 80 thousand people.
The game is so awesome and very much worth the money. While the campaign is rock solid, by the time you realize you've finished it it just feels like it was way too short.
Jesus this campaign was great for a modern fps. It actually felt like a comprehensive story with dual narration and memorable moments like charging into a city at night... Bf4's story on the other hand was terrible, forgetable and pointlesly over the top. I want a soldier story from a bf, not a spec ops parachuting of the exploding dame bullshit! Thanks for this nostalgic trip. Never was I more hyped for a game than for BF3 and I probably never will be. Different times.
you totally nailed my feelings on this one, it felt WAY more immersive when you felt like an actual soldier in a modern conflict, actual grunts uncovering something bigger, like a black hawk down/ Three kings type thing. very believable!. i am so glad i got to experience this campaign.
The best, most tense and suspenseful campaign of all time. I say this as a lifelong Halo fan and avid COD player. BF3 was the one game that threw a bunch of regular dudes into something way bigger than they were and forced them to make huge decisions all while staying almost completely grounded in reality. It's not a mil-sim campaign, but it did what it needed to do and executed it almost perfectly. I still get chills from half the scenes 10 years later.
This games deserves a remaster Just imagine this escene (Solomon's Theme included) with better graphics (i know the game's still looking good nowadays)
Just got this video in my recommendations and thank god it appeared there....the nostalgia is too much for my brain oh my god. Thats a good way to one up cod I admit in modern warfare you see some ambiguous Iraq city go bright, In this game you're almost successful in stopping the Paris nuke, almost isn't good enough though. Solomons theme is amazing too it is the sound of your cold war fears coming true.
