Ok i have the dumbest question.... the 'mothers' were so powerful that literally fucked twins into existence so how were they not powerful enough to stop a goddamm fire?!?! This is some dumb shit. Also, they threatened the Jedi.... this is some BS😂😂
Seriously. What the fuck killed the witches? Did Mae cast some sort of kill all witches on the planet? Because the fire and smoke certainly the fuck did not.
@@Daniel-hm8xqthere are certainly more flashbacks. We see a lightsaber duel in some of the tv spots involving the wookie, sol, and Torbin. I’m guessing more stuff goes down.
Read above OP
@Daniel-hm8xq it was the fire I'm sure. We all know the Jedi wouldn't pull out their lightsabers unless they were attacked which is extremely possible since they took over Torbin's mind and the Jedi just didn't do shit.... bro... why was it him specifically? That was dumb asf. Anyways so basically Mae kills all the Lesbos with the fire she started.... you know what's funny? After seeing how the women ran their little "coven" and how Mae and Osha were allowed to be brats while their mother was trying to explain how the- fake- Force worked, I kinda see that they needed a man there. To at least get a grip on everything. 1st. They are children correct but they weren't being disciplined for their rather stupid behaviors. One was pushing the other another scene we see Mae shouting and screaming. It was cringe. Moving on. I just thought I'd point that out since it was annoying and made me think of them as self entitled assholes. 2nd. Why the hell was Sol looking like a predator when the two girls were out from the fortress. I'm sorry but it just seemed weird for him to be spying on them, for some reason when Obi-Wan was spying on Luke it never crossed my mind because I understood entirely why he was indeed spying. But Sol didn't have a good reason other than he didn't know if they were with hostile people, remember this is before he knew about the witches and what they stood for. It just seemed weird thought I'd point that out as well. 3rd. Why the fuck did the witches threaten the Jedi when they knew they would lose if a fight broke out? Not to mention the fact that they blatantly Force fucked a guy with some weird power which apparently doesn't take any kind of preparation. So it was their mother who did that so clearly she's on the level of a Jedi Master, no? Which leads to my final question.... HOW THE FUCK DID EVERYONE DIE TO A FUCKING FIRE?! It makes no logical sense. Mae basically murders her whole entire clan and instead of trying to find peace with herself she blames the Jedi only because they went to test them in the ways of the Jedi.... that is the dumbest shit I've ever heard. She murdered her whole clan over her sister's decision. We have no story which explains how close the two were, the only time when they are together they are always bickering and shoving each other..... so why the fuck did her sister's choice piss her off? And how the fuck did someone who can control or Force fuck someone's mind not be able to feel in the Force the fire that was about to kill the entire clan? Their mother is powerful when the plot is needed and weak as well. And how did Osha just HAPPEN to have a tool to pry open the door panel? Bro... I'm losing my mind this whole series is gonna be the biggest joke in history lmao
No. They aren't "so powerful that [they] literally f****d them into existence." They simply had the knowledge of how to manipulate the Force to create life. It's exactly what Palpatine was referring to with the tale of "Darth Plageous the Wise" in Revenge of the Sith, heavily implying that that's how Anakin was conceived without his mom sleeping with a man.
I'm convinced that the Sith were the ones who killed the witches. A), they obviously covet the knowledge of how to create life (ahem*Plageous-the-Wise*ahem), and B), they're clearly grooming Mae in the ways of the Dark Side (probably for that explicit purpose--and the bonus of undermining the Jedi in the process--or maybe I have those priorities backwards, but either way), and would have just randomly stumbled across her somehow, otherwise.

Hahahha good one
Not happening, they are more devoted to pushing their trash narrative
I can’t believe that they tried to copy Anakin and the way he was conceived in the force. If this is what they were doing it is a slap in the face to Star Wars
How? The witches are dark force users. It makes sense for the sith to get the idea from other dark cultic users. Anakin is the chosen one cuz hes the chosen one, not because he had no father.
@@johnfletcher2949 Except this completely cracks the established power scaling in the franchise and ignores the fact that the force has a will of its own. Plagueis spent his entire life as a sith lord trying to create life and achieve immortality, knowledge and power he withheld from palpatine and took to his grave. He cast away the sith rule and greater plan of master tenebrous and all former sith to pursue his own goals. He manipulated the force to create life and the force responded by creating anakin. Plagueis had created life, but could not control the process, the force itself resisted him and created life on its own terms. Anakin was created by the force to punish plagueis for his attempted manipulation of life and death.
Plagueis was the mightiest sith when it came to using the dark side to manipulate life and even he couldn't create life on his own terms, the force has a will of its own. So if the mightiest sith cannot control the process of conjuring life, why would some incredibly weak cult whose members combined power don't even add up to the power of a single medium tier jedi knight be able to conjure life at their fingertips like that?
If it is so easy that these weaklings can do it, why don't powerful dark side users conjure forth an army of force sensitive warriors? The only explanation would be a lack of knowledge, but according to yourself it makes sense that plagueis/palps got the idea from the witches. Why can't plagueis, who is way more powerful, wise and attuned compared to the weak cult in this show create life like that? Why doesn't palps do it? Because it makes no sense, because it breaks canon, because that kind of force manipulation is in direct violation of the will of the force and the force resists any attempts to do it and dooms those that try it..
The lesbian space witch burning the book and setting the entire village on fire is a great metaphor for the entire Star Wars as a whole lol.

He missed the giant fresh scar on the Padawans face...it's the hunt that Mai didn't get everyone killed, the Jedi came in there and wiped them out and destroyed it. It's just was all jump started by the fire. I laugh at how so many people can't understand what's going on and just hate the show cause they wanted to hate it.
There were some clunky parts of the episode story telling but I think it's like that in purpose as we will keep coming back to this flash back imo. But it is really frustrating to see how the people determined to hate it can't see that there is actually some really good story telling going on based a lot on what Lucas was doing in the prequels. But two chicks kiss so Star Wars is now "ruined". Their pea sized brains are getting in the way
But I agree, something else went down. I'm guessing Whatever went down is why Torbin took the vow and Kalnaca in isplation. Mae started the fire which ends up being a good scapegoat for whatever the Jedi wanted to cover up. I think her now being alive is going to cause problems for Sol.

I’m 110% certain we’ll get another flashback from another perspective (possibly multiple) showing that the Jedi showed up to collect Osha, the witches resisted, and the Jedi end up killing everyone and destroying the fortress, likely accidentally.
overall, the episode was just very boring and cringey… but the only serious issue I have is that the witches were able to create life via “the Thread…” severely weakening the significance of the Chosen One being a virgin birth, conceived by the Force itself. best case scenario: we get a flashback showing that Mother Aniseya was a fraud, that the twins do have a father, and Aniseya was somehow responsible for the catastrophe.
also, why would they not cast identical twins to play… identical twins?
I don't think Anakin was the chosen one *because* he was a virgin birth, wasn't the prevailing theory still that palpatine/plagueis created him in the same way as this probably had been done?
@@k--music - I don’t think Anakin was the Chosen One simply because he was a virgin birth, he was Chosen by the Force… and a virgin birth was the best way Lucas could think to convey that, like he’s space Jesus.
I’m not up to date on the entire canon, but according to Theory here, Plagueis attempts to create a life via the Force, and the Force itself rebukes him by creating the Chosen One 🤷🏻♂️
I honestly would’ve preferred if Anakin wasn’t the Chosen One, and there was no such prophecy… and that Anakin was just a supremely talented golden boy who achieved great things, but then fell prey to the temptation of the Dark Side, and was ultimately redeemed by the faith his son had in him… but since that’s not the story we got, I don’t want these ancillary stories to cheapen or denigrate the core story.
@@k--musiche was always meant to be the chosen one thats how lucas made him into the "space jesus" for a reason only HE can be conceived by virgin brith thru the force due to plagueis trying to create a sith from midichlorians as a pushback it created a being stronger than any jedi AND sith even obi admitted he would have been easily killed during the mustafar fight if it wasnt for anakins arrogance blinding him he eas always meant to be more powerful than even the emperor the nightsisters making life really retcons that prophecy and cheapens it 🤦🏾🤦🏾
@@TheJoseGarcia325 But the Plagueis book implied that the reason he was created was the force naturally balancing P&P's efforts to create life using the dark side. seems logical that this would mean creating life using the dark side is possible, and these girls weren't created by the force itself as anakin was, i.e. he's the only one chosen by the force, not some witches

@@joshpeterson2147 yeah we keep looking at SW from one perspective which is from what we all grew up watching with the OT, Prequels, Legends books, and comics. Now that The Acolyte show is telling a story that is fresh and new, fans are having a hard time trying to connect it to what we know when that is not the case. We are seeing what led to events up to the prequels. Everything in SW is from a certain point of view and fans need to realize that this show is a murder mystery and we are going to see it from different angles like a lot of old mystery shows or films. We can't go into looking at this series as a typical SW when we are dealing with a new era and a fresh story that ties it all together.
The disgust on his face in the thumbnail explains it all perfectly
This is everything people were afraid of happening and more. Even the biggest of shills will have a tougher time trying to defend it.
I don't get it tbh is it because the witches were probably gay? The magic stuff? I was told it retconned the prequels but it just seems like it reinforces the already prevailing idea of plagueis' use of the midichlorians to create life leading to Anakin's force conception as a balancing act

@SecondBreakfastAndThreeH-zo3jp because they are real fans not like this clown channel.
@@deathstar5138 Yeah, that’s why Theory is at 3 million subscribers while Katarn can’t even scrape 50k, and will never touch 100k. The Soy is strong with you.🐏
The fire probably wasn’t what brought the place down, the coven was clearly attacked and that’s why the Jedi felt the need to atone, like Torbin killing himself. Probably why Sol was crying there too. Not defending the episode, the atrocious redefining of the Force is irredeemable
I’m speaking for myself, but I’m just happy living with George Lucas’s 1-6 Star Wars Saga. Disney/Lucasfilm has proven over and over again that they just don’t have the same storytelling magic as Lucas did. I'm happy for all the fans who enjoy this era of Star Wars, but it's just not for me.
George was equally as dog shit with ep1 and 2. I don't care for the whole the books made them better. Bottom line is ep 1 and 2 are shit and you guys a cry babies
I hear you.
Sad, they had a window with the first two seasons of Mandalorian and Grogu, and they sabotaged it. Unfortunately.
Goooooooood... use your anger... let the hate flow through you.
In all seriousness, it was so refreshing to see you finally lose the filter and tell us how you really feel. This is the Theory we want to see. Anyone calling you a hater isn't a real Star Wars fan.
I knew it was completely over when the last Star Wars celebration felt like a LGBTQ event and not a Star Wars event.
Lesley Headland should make a RUclips channel called Star Wars Therapy 😂
Star Wars: Therapist. because she's truly The Rapist of Star Wars.
1:10:48 when he finishes the episode
Looks like he's in pain.
bro your face in the thumbnail is KILLING me🤣🤣
We need a Star grift emergency meeting
Theory said he'll be on the Critical Drinkers channel again this week to discuss, and Mooler is usually there too so it's basically what you're asking for...
Check out 36.23 in episode 3. Torbin's face is all kinds of mangled, wouldn't be surprised if they had something to do with the explosion, not to mention all the bodies where there was no fire or fallen rubble
Disney SW is like a studio acquiring Batman and bringing in writers who don’t understand Batman and then proceed to make shows about how he’s really an alien, he can teleport, manipulate metal with his mind and he can fly in outer space. Then when Batman fans point out how this isn’t Batman and it sucks… the studio attacks those fans.
It’s quite ironic for Leslye to make a story about the exploitation of children 👀
1:10:17 end of episode reaction starts
These people hate us Starwars fans it's insane and unreal . Its just kk wanting revenge on George for making her the coffee fetcher . Which is what she was in the 70s for George she was an assistant , Spielberg is the one who made made her a producer
wtf was that ep??? Fn horrendous
As a person who watched it and kinda enjoyed it, like 6/10, I want to know why this episode was so bad in people’s views?
@@dexogamesBro the acting from the kids was horrible and it was so boring.
@@OTB2002 you've never seen the phantom menace then.
Child actors are always stilted! You just have to deal with that in almost any movie with children!
@@dexogames no in those movies he was younger and the film had an amazing class of older actors to make it less noticeable, this has the opposite.
@@OTB2002 They look the same age as young anakin was. And yes, the prequels were notorious for their amazing acting!
Objectively, this show's acting has been better than the prequels. And I like the prequels.
Just remember kids, literally the Godzilla Minus One movie had a $15 million budget meanwhile this had a $180 million budget…
So... is this when you finally realise we should fire Filoni with the rest of them? Because he was incredibly supportive of this show and had a hand in its so-called 'storytelling'.
Absolutely terrible. Unnecessary self-inserts at every turn, making this a $180m therapy session. It bleeds a "woman power" political message from the side of the political spectrum that can't tell you what a woman is. Loaded political statements on society with all the subtlety of a napalm enema, making the Jedi out to be the bad guys. Atrocious acting (the Wookie Jedi couldn't even go down the stairs naturally without the actor being conscious to not trip). Destroys the lore and uniqueness of Anakin being born of the Force as the chosen one. It's like the people at Disney can't stand the fact that Star Wars made people feel good for decades and see it as part of a system of oppression that they need to dismantle, so they hate us for having something we love, ergo, they must destroy it in front of us while charging us monthly so we can watch Iron Man movies. I hate it. I'm done with Star Wars. It was glorious while it lasted.

OG trilogy, Prequel trilogy, Shadows of the Empire (game, book, etc.), KOTOR 1 & 2, Republic Commando, and a couple of the books. That's my canon and I'm sticking to it.
Where's JADEN KORR and ROSH BENIS my dude?!
2:02:15 yoda impression spot on
I think there's more to the story then we've seen in this episode. I don't believe Mae starting the fire is what actually destroyed the place and that's probably why Torbin felt so guilty saying he thought they did the right thing. And there being an independent sect of force users that view the force differently than what we know it as is really that huge of a deal in my opinion. I'll wait till it's over to fully judge it
*isn't that huge of a deal
My own theory is that we all became Star Wars fans because we all have that inner child that still loves to play, create, imagine, and explore. And there’s nothing wrong with that. As a therapist, I promote that with everyone I work with. The Dark Side to this inner child, though, is needing everything to go our own way. And almost having temper tantrums when it doesn’t. Our minds have egos and schemas. And so we become very closed minded when we think that the world is SUPPOSED to be what I think it should be. And we fear anything that is outside this box. And fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. But the only practical suffering that truly happens is internal. As for me, I can’t help but see the deep and practical lessons that the saga provides for all of us to learn. And, perhaps, one of these lessons is to check our impulsive and emotional reactions to things. And not be so afraid to think outside of the box. As for me, I will reserve judgment until the season comes to end and discern my opinions on it from there. For impulsively and emotionally reacting to something that doesn’t fit my schema is a distortion. And only a Sith deals in absolutes. With every impulsive reaction, I perceive eyes turning yellow and theory sabers turning red. And maybe some loud, menacing, breathing in the back ground. And there are simply healthier ways in our emotional and spiritual sides to be, which this saga can help all of us big kids understand. If we take the time to open up to it. I kindly challenge each to ponder all of this before emotionally reacting. The Force is with y’all…But you are not a Jedi, yet. 😊
never thought I’d see a Jedi steaming his robe
This was the first time I had to force myself to finish a star wars episode. It was so bad, this is not star wars at all
So what happened, I heard it was going to be a bad one
I like Sol a lot. This show is horrible but his performance is SO good and I hate we got such an awesome actor stuck in this version of Star Wars. I mean, that tear drop while talking to Osha, Jesus, the pain in his face almost made me forget what show I was watching.
I think it’s pretty obvious that you was meant to think Mae killed everyone via the fire, but something else actually happened. The Jedi did something clearly, which is why Mae wants revenge & why that monk Jedi felt so much guilt. The episode was still complete trash, but I’m just pointing out that they will revisit this later to show us what really happened.
Hopefully they do because it wouldn't make sense otherwise. I guess they gotta find some way to spread this over 8 episodes. Won't hold my breath though, the writing isn't really that good.
For those who are asking what killed the witches. The plot will be: May will confront her sister, and tell her that the Jedi killed the witches. Than Osha turns against the Jedi, and Sol will tell Osha that the witches attacked them because they thought the Jedi started the fire. Predictable plot, because the Thorshomething guy who took the poison was full of guilt (because they massacred the witches). Still a bad plot, just making a point how predictable this shit is.
“You gotta run and don’t look back, this is over.”
Most of you hates this because hating star wars is a trend now. Sequels are shitty, Boba fett was shity but this... This is Star Wars and this is a good one.
Friendly reminder that godzilla -1 cost 15 million (less than 10% of this)
2:38:24
Bro, I am literally playing the RDR2 sheep herding mission as you said this
I think theres so much more to this episode. We're going to go back to this from different perspectives definitely. I dont see the problem with this honestly... Theres a lot of show left people. If the rest of the show sucks, so be it. But I i think it's fine for now
I can see how the witches had a different take on the Force. This is much like any religious philosophy. Different experience means different understanding. It was all meh, and not worth the money they poured into it. But I HATED when they turned Jedi into kidnappers. As for whats-her-name burning down the house? Flabbergasted.
But Jedi were kidnappers - many hated the Jedi because of this
@@connorlynndan2415 Famlies chose if their kids were to join the Jedi. Qui-Gon gave Anakin that choice too.
I actually thought this episode's strength was showing how the Jedi were oblivious to how manipulative they were. They stressed consent as a cornerstone of the process but were compelled by the weight of Republic law to take the children and not take no for an answer.
If only they would have hired writers that could have executed this with a shred of competence.
I agree, didn’t see an issue with a different POV of the force in the show. This has been the case in the comics. It wasn’t portrayed as the only way to look at it.
Okay so if you think it’s that bad stop watching it. If this particular story isn’t for you stop watching it
Watching Star wars fans slowly become anti left more and more makes me happy for preserving some sort of structure in society in coming years.
Star Wars was always left leaning in its themes. The original trilogy was about going against the Vietnam war. The sequel trilogy was about rebels taking over the established social structure of the Republic
@@e3vL1 that hardly means left wing but agree with the observation of the theme. Left tends to support larger establishment these days even if they don't know it. Also we can all agree the left wing of politics today has right wingers looking liking liberals from the 70s
Is anyone really surprised? After 2017, the writing was on the wall.
To think that ONE episode of the Acolyte cost around 7 to 8 million dollars MORE than Godzilla Minus one! 😮 Let this fact sink in.
A whole movie with superior effects, superior story and superior actors against a horrendous 25 minutes episode with a dumb story with dumb actors, dumb effects and an out of touch, narcissistic crazy person as a writer and director. The sheer f*king hubris.
For 22'ish minutes of actual show.
1:10:38 indeed.
incomprehensible this new Disney Star Wars is
my 2 cents. so these witches are using the force, but they don't call it that. I personally don't have issues with their being two perspectives in which you look at things. The jedi as we know at times can be very pompous. Now we never see her set the fire in flames. The women are dead from something other than a fire so its clearly not her who kills them. There is gonna be a twist. Its a reason we don't see it caught a blaze. I actually liked the episode and its a refreshing story from someone other than a jedis point of view
There’s a chance this episode was from one perspective thats why certain things happen, and later what actually happens will be shown, but that said still boring episode
Modern hollywood is like fast food. Garbage product the average consumer willl ingest anyway because "its atleast something".
People who are so threatened by this show are reaching for reasons to not like it. There's nothing here that is super controversial or "breaks" star wars.
- A Coven of witches (nightsisters) ✅️
- Immaculate force conception (anakin) ✅️
- Jedi taking force sensitive kids away from their family ✅️
They didn't force the witches into exile because theyre lesbians 🤦♂️🤦♂️ lol they forced them into exile because of their use of the darker side of the force (they literally say it out loud in the show).
I for one am enjoying diving into the nuances of how rigid and narrow sighted the Jedi were and how some of those things blinded them to the rise of the Sith and ended up pushing a vulnerable Anakin to the dark side. But hey, keep hate watching it so they make a second season 😂
Lesley got mad that George Lucas was mansplaining the universe that he created so she came in to insert herself and womansplain how George Lucas's universe actually works
No wonder Coffee Kathy likes her so much
