Am I an asshole if I skip to evidence and QA then rub one out to Ryan's curly fuck hair? To hot!
Lol I'm an animal biologist so I can identify quiet animal screams of ALL KINDS and even if it sounds like a person, a fox or a rabbit (rabbits sound wild when hurt bad) I know for a fact it was an animal cause I'm a BIOLOGIST lol. Ppl throw their credentials around so much in dumb situations.
Not a ghost hunting channel but Sakura Stardust makes a lot of videos talking about Japanese ghosts and urban legends. She'd be a good person to ask regarding this stuff
I'm pretty sure the "ghost" recommending the best vpn I've ever used, NordVPN, is actually Steven Lim wearing a bedsheet with holes cutout for eyes
pw- boogoo23 😂
Love that Shane was more scared of the Motel 6 than the haunted location 😭
It was scarier.
Rightfully so, I’d rather hang out with ghosts than mystery goo
they were selling drugs outside the motel six we stayed at one time. fun times
Because it's a rational, logical response to a nasty murder motel haha, not imaginary ghosts. I totally know where he's coming from, skepticism isn't a religion, but ghosts, like flat earth, Voldemort or unicorns, there's zero rational reason to believe in fictional concepts until proven otherwise..but if Ryan found legitimate evidence he'd be the first to say oh crap you're right! It's not a religion where he's denying it to be in denial
@@KaladinVegapunkI personally believe energy sticks around. Probably not ghost, but people's energy is recycled into the earth and air, and we can feel it. Like I feel my grandparents inside and around myself, their memory and genetics and energy surrounds me. Maybe I'm nuts, but that's what I feel. Loving people give loving energy into the world, and hateful people give bad energy. If that makes sense.
As someone who works in the funeral industray, Shane takes the cake on looking dead. Ryan's eye are too focused but Shane has the glazed look we usually see.
both of them look different or sick this episode i thought
@@3mk0s they said they'd literally just finished a tour of live shows the previous night so I imagine they were probably just knackered
I was gonna say, Shane looked like he watches Caitlin Doughty and takes notes. Every time she mimicks a dead person's face, she crosses her eyes slightly and gets them to glaze over and Shane did the same thing.
hmm i do feel like some glazed donuts
My feel too, Ryan looks spaced out, Shane on the other hand, looks positivly flatlined !
Ryan laughing so hard he matched the color of his shirt was peak content

Comforting to hear that you guys have had the same American Airlines Luxury Experience as most people have. Whether you’re a random grocery store employee or the greatest ghost hunters in recorded history, AA is always consistent. We, as humanity, are united in getting absolutely fucked by American Airlines, and that’s beautiful.
'Humanity'. Americans being American thinking US is the entire world.
@@zafferung4440do you think American Airlines only flies within the US, with only American passengers, ever?
@@zafferung4440I think this is less a case of Americans thinking they’re the whole world (although I certainly see how it can be interpreted that way) and more op referencing the diversity of different peoples in America as a sample size for the world. The point is that no matter who you are or where you’re from, you’re equally fucked; a very American form of equality.

Lizzie and I dancing around town like a couple of hysterical insects looking for a parallel portal 😎
shane's impression of the viewer seeing an orb the size of a pumpkin is easily a top 10
It broke Ryan. 🤣
They legit turned lobster red. 🦞
Ryan laughing made it even funnier 😂
Ryan dying laughing while she just continues, made me cry laugh omg that was great 🤣🤣🤣
Im going to be laughing at that for months
Ryan saying *definitively* that all Asians believe in ghosts, only for Lizzie to ask around the room if they believe in ghosts while sounding like an annoyed mother asking her kids who left the front door unlocked was the best part by far.
Some Asians are like, "hey don't trust that abandoned hut down the street, it's haunted as fuck. i don't believe in ghosts though btw."
@@espressoghoulettethat’s the interesting thing like even in a lot of African and arab cultures we have all these superstitions but plenty people don’t believe in ghosts. Perhaps basing supernatural belief on belief in ghosts is ethnocentric
@@user-yl2so8db5t Yes, definitely! In some places there is even a strong line between superstition and religion, like Buddhist and Daoist clergy trying to educate normal people about orthodox religious belief vs. folk superstition.
A little late to the game, but I’m a Japanese living in Japan here! In Japan, there’s a big culture of the paranormal. There isn’t really a “ghost hunting” culture in the American sense, but there is a culture of “courage testing” which is like entering the realm of the undead! Unlike the idea of entering a single haunted location, Japanese haunted areas are often a geographic area that acts as a portal between the world of the paranormal and the human world!
I’d love to see Shane and Ryan come here to investigate tho!!
For the dead body impression, Ryan's was good, but Shane straight up looked DEAD dead.
Exactly 😂
Ryan just looked like he was sad and high
He wasn't afraid to commit to the chins
Shane looks like he paid attention to Caitlin Doughty's descriptions. Even crossed his eyes a little. That attention to detail is the Watcher difference.
Ryan looked like he was taking a nap
For Shane's bringing his own things for evidence, infrasound has been linked to both visual and auditory hallucinations. If he brought something that could hear infrasound he could explain why people feel uneasy in those locations.
There was a show 'Paranormal Home Inspectors' where they had ghost hunters/mediums talking about all the ways a house was haunted, and but also there was a professional home inspector who explained pretty much everything with an understanding of how houses work (paint layers that gave a faint impression of a face at the right angle and lighting, doors needing maintenance so they would swing slightly as the house's temperature changed, a device leaking carbon monoxide so people nearby would feel short of breath).
While I agree debunking is great because there's too many snake oils salesmen tainting the ghost / spiritual community like the warrens at the conjuring house.
Although I appreciate debunking I do still believe a smaller amount of stuff is true.
@@rosscalhoun3389my favorite quote of his is "We have two cats... that we know of". You know this man has encountered surprise animals during inspections

@@YukiDemonOfHell you won’t be disappointed omg, some of them are absolutely scary. I suggest watching the abandoned love hotel in the middle of the mountains 😵💫
Will check it out !. I hope they get me the vibes like the old unsolved .
Ryan absolutely losing his shit while Lizzy was trying to seriously explain her job was peak sibling energy
Never thought I’d see Ryan laugh until crying over a pumpkin sized orb joke.
Kinda made my day ngl 😂
That whole American Airlines and Motel 6 story sounded like a nightmare lol, but love that they put them on blast. Also Ryan losing it at Shane’s “an orb the size of a pumpkin” joke while Lizzie is trying to answer a question LOL
I also love that they repeatedly name dropped them both in order to poop on them. Some channels would vaguely reference the airline/hotel they had a problem with, but they said it with their whole chest. Often. Lol
The fact that Shane and Ryan's friendship survived Ryan not speaking to Shane for a week after shooting the first episode at Waverly out of frustration
why wouldn't it? they've been best friends for years now
What a stupid comment said in a stupid way. The fact...but then there is no fact
I think Shane should spend a week at the conjuring house and Ryan should spend a week at that clown motel in the desert. No reason I just think it’d be funny
The conjuring house is a sham and nothing ever happens at the clown motel, it's cute though.
If they do go to conjuring leave out satori and whatever dudes name is. Scammers
Shane and Ryan sitting on them rocking chairs like a old married couple.
Best moment ever! 😂
As an Asian id like to confirm, most of us do believe in the paranormal it iss part of our culture. I know like 2 people that do not believe in ghosts. Can't wait for the next season. This was the best debrief Ryan turned the colour of his shirt laughing 😂😂😂😂
I didnt think anyone else noticed Ryan turning into the same colour as his shirt! ^o^
the scream you guys captured was not a fox, it was Sam fighting for her life in a haunted car
Shane and Ryan laughing while Lizzie was trying to speak was like a teacher trying to give a lecture and you and your best friend are losing it over one or both of you being silly lmao
I love how every coworker they bring on mentions how much of their job is just trying to contain the chaos that is Ryan and Shane.
American here but I've lived in Japan for 16 years, and the paranormal is HUGE, especially in summer during O-bon season. I'm not sure about the local RUclips scene, but on network TV they'll often have "tests of courage" where they send random B-list celebrities to haunted places and see if they can make it through the whole shooting process, with similar evidence to Ghost Files - bumps, sounds, things that randomly move, etc. Paranormal evidence photos and videos are super popular too, I've seen whole TV specials dedicated to them. That said, I think there's less of a "let's prove ghosts exist via science" culture with skeptics vs. believers, it's more of a general acceptance that yes, ghosts and monsters may exist, respect the dead and be careful when you're in haunted areas ... it's a very different approach than the US, and definitely worth researching and learning about since Japan's historical ghosts and scary creatures are fascinating. Hope you can all make it here someday! (If you need a guide / interpreter ... 👀)
FWIW the apartment building I live in is supposedly haunted by a few ghost children and weird things have happened to me (voices, FBAs, devices going off when they shouldn't), but I figure they were all here before me soooooo ... guess we all gotta get along?
Shane was more convincing as the dead body but Ryan really stole the show with his gnomes shaking a car impression!
As a mortician, I have to say that Shane does a very realistic impression of a dead body. Congrats 🎉
Ryan losing it at the pumpkin comment is proof that they’re best friends because that’s something only a friend would laugh at for 3 solid mins 😂
As small as it is, I appreciate Shane saying 'it's not a war guys', esp because in the comments I've been seeing a notable increase in hostility on both sides. Like no need to call people 'stupid' or 'joyless' bc they think a certain way. Ghost shows are fun! just let them be fun. The fun for some people is thinking they heard a ghost, and for other people the fun part is thinking up debunking possibilities, just enjoy it on your own and stop making your way of thinking some kind of campaign.
Hands down Ryan would be the annoying ghost, because he would be bugging everyone that he's real and he's a ghost. Shane, however, would be absolutely quiet and laughing his head off
As for the language thing, gotta say, if someone came in to my house (whether I was a ghost or not) yelling in a foreign language and messing with stuff, I would hide. But if I could hear and understand them saying “we’re not here to hurt you” or “we just want to talk”, I’d be way more likely to communicate.
ryan losing it with shanes pumpkin joke while lizzie continues to answer the QA is a good summary of the trios work dynamic
We’re gonna need “I seen an orb the size of a pumpkin” on a t shirt.
“I’m a white woman we love crime shows” Lizzie is officially my favorite 🤣❤️
What was funny about that?
@@shaunsensei6948 the majority of true crime audiences are female and most are white 😅 like we go to bed listening to true crime podcasts….. we’re weird it’s just a thing ☠️

@@shaunsensei6948stereotype that white women love crime shows
Hi guys, As someone who used to work in a morgue I'll let you know that Shane had it. He had the distant unfocused look that corpses tend to have. Ryan just looked stone.
I think the "gas leak" they're referring to is more like Radon than an asphyxiant like CO or something. Radon exposure has been linked to feeling of unease, paranoia, etc. My understanding is that it's prolonged exposure, so it wouldn't immediately affect someone there briefly. Might be an interesting thing to look for.
shane taking a pee break transitioning into the sponsor is comedy gold
These advertisers really get their money worth with these guys.
Shane's guilty smile when Ryan is explaining how he does the long con when annoying people is SO funny. "I don't know what you're talking about, but....."
I honestly can't think of one time the American Airlines experience was decent. That combined with the Hotel 6 sounds like an even scarier horror story than the actual haunted house. This was a really good season finale. This season was a lot of fun and I can't wait to see where you investigate for the next one.
Agreed
Spitting facts.
I had a couple of good experiences, but years ago. I broke up with them in 2007, never went back
I was forced to stay in a West Texas Hotel 6 many years ago when an ice storm caused the TX Highway Patrol to shut down the roads for the night. I'm glad to see they're as clean and luxurious as they used to be. It was harrowing. 🤢
@@lisah-p8474 I don't know if they're affiliated with Motel 6, but where I'm from (MW) and where I live now (east), motel 6 are always sort of mur-der-y places where hookers meet clients.
Shane’s lifeless eyes are unmatched. Sorry Ryan. @ 33:26
In Japan property owners legally have to tell potential renters if the previous tenant died in the house. You can get a massive discount in rent because people dont want to live in those places. Theres even websites specifically for renting out properties like that
For next season, I think it would be interesting if you guys bring Steven as a guest investigator even for just one episode, just to have another person's opinions/reactions during the investigation. Big fan of you guys, the three founders of watcher, ever since BuzzFeed days.
Sam's experience is super interesting because Clara does mention several times in her book about living at the house about their personal as well as friends cars shaking and malfunctioning
I'd love lizzie to be a guest on one of the other shows, she is soooooo funny
I agree they should make lizzie a permanent member on their podcast
I liked Lizzie’s presence as well 👍
Honestly id love to see a travel log series.
Maybe visiting random smaller haunted locations more casually without the full on investigation.
We are here for you guys after all, the investigations are just an excuse to watch your antics.
Shane: “Give ‘em the ol’ razzle dazzle, it’s entertainment!”
Ryan: “ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!!??”
Ryan getting the giggles is pure gold.
Ryan and Shane devolving into giggles while Lizzie tries to answer the question seems like a VERY common occurrence LOL
I'm loving the dorky haunted sponsor reads. Literally the first time ever I've not been annoyed by ads
Since a large percentage of so-called hauntings are the result of mold and carbon monoxide poisonings maybe the team should bring gear to check for those 😂
ooooooooooo piggybacking onto this
I was making a joke to a friend about haunting zones "causing extreme anxiety and panic attacks that subside when people leave the area"
and they were like "YO, OVERLY HIGH/LOW PITCHES OF AUDIO THAT CAN'T BE HEARD BY HUMAN EARS CAN DO THAT"
So I want them to bring special soundwave detection too!!!
any castle in europe would be wild
Yes!
Steven not even attempting a spooky character voice at all. 😂
For Japanese ghosts - I once watched another RUclips video "The Fukushima Nuclear Disaster - Epidemic of Ghosts" by Kyle Hill. The bulk of the video is about the nuclear disaster, and how it happened, but in a few parts within the video talks about paranormal/ghost encounters of surviving residents (and looking up the video, there are a number of videos about ghostly passengers). Not something that could be investigated easily, but it's an interesting topic and informative watch.
The last thing Japan needs now is more foreigner youtuber that doesn't even knows Japanese.
@@23Lgirl that’s what a translator is for
Lizzie has good delivery and intonation for stand up comedy
Lizzie was once shot out of a human cannon and flew through the air another 40 meters hight and landed on a huge bouncy net like a rag doll 😂
I've seen a couple of paranormal ghost hunting videos in Japan and they usually scream something like "fuck your mother" at the ghosts...so maybe Shane and Ryan would be well received lol! For a primer for next season, Ryan and Shane should watch random ghost evidence (something like Nuke's Top 5) and discuss whether it's good evidence or not 😂 I'd love to watch Ryan's reaction to a creepy doll moving or Shane's explanation for a cup flying across the room.
I think those videos with the aggressive swearing are usually Chinese if I'm not wrong? That swear is more commonly used in Mandarin. That being said, there could be more aggressive Japanese ghost hunters out there that I've yet to come across haha
I've seen those. They go to a supposedly haunting location, talk to what they believe is a dead person stuck in a home and swear at them like a complete moron. They're all obviously fake but to use that in the script is just insensitive to the point of being brainless
It's the Chinese that do that. Bless
They should watch those Arabic Jinn hunters who kick down every door they see, maybe take some pointers. "Bismillah!" *kick!*
Maybe I'm alone in this, but I think them just watching Nuke's or other ghost videos would be boring. and pointless. Maybe I'm wrong about Shane, but I don't think he has the scientific or vfx background to meaningfully debunk these things, and I love Ryan but he'll just believe everything.
Better they apply their own brand of ghost hunting to the actual locations.
For the bringing your own tools part, in (hopefully) any active mining operation people are required to carry active gas monitors with them with different devices being able to detect different groups of gases. Ive no idea where you could purchase one but ide imagine it wouldnt be too difficult to acquire one. They're generally just something you can clip onto your person or carry around easy enough.
Also, it would be pretty excellent to see an episode at the Sunshine Mine in MT (see Sunshine Mine disaster, which basically brought out MSHA (OSHA for mining)).
Infrasound is a major contributor to ghost 'sightings'. Maybe a frequency detector for that is out there?
I cannot say this enough but the entry and exit audio for ghost files is unlike anything I’ve ever heard and I listen to a lot different kinds of music, languages and background score of shows and movies. Truly a masterpiece, props to the team, give me gossebumps every time. ❤
I love how Ryan & Shane have Lizzie as a producer (babysitter) and their alternate universe counterparts Rhett & Link have Stevie as a producer (babysitter)
As a Shaniac, I love hearing Shane call things out for what they are. However, I would also appreciate a little more time and effort in coming up with possible explanations for observations which would help debunk the situation instead of just making the believers think we are just too stubborn to accept the truth when something can’t be explained.
Case in point: EMF is generated by all kinds of devices, so when the detector starts going crazy for a bit then stops, it could be as simple as an Air Conditioner in the neighborhood which spikes massive EMF during initial startup before settling down after a couple seconds during normal operation.
@@butwhytho4858 I think you're right.
There was no neighbourhood. It's an isolated house

Love the idea of Shane using tools! Also, the story about him farting and his interaction with the guy in the crowd cracked me up.
I actually grew up in that area. Olean is pronounced Oh-lee-ann. Really cool that they did a Ghost Files on that house. The kids in my senior class used to go there on dares and bring home random stuff from it to see if the spirits were attached to any objects.
Can’t imagine living near Olean! My great grandma lived there, but other than seeing her, there really isn’t anything to do. Besides the testicle festival, right? 😂 it was really weird seeing Olean on such a big show.

Ryan would look funny flying down a hill in a shopping trolly at night with his hair on fire 😏
14:42 That scream sounded like freedom. 🦅 🇺🇲
Ok not gonna lie. I would love to see some ghost hunting stuff in Japan. I never really get to see it and I've actually tried to look up people who do it there. It would be so interesting to see the Ghoul Boys go there and maybe even team up with some peeps from there. Maybe someday in the future!
can confirm as southeast asian (filipino) yes, we mostly believe in ghosts since our culture greatly believes in spirits
we dont actively do ghost hunting but it might be because we naturally believe ghosts and spirits is everywhere, and so literally any area can be "haunted" or ghosts can make their presence known
Ending the 2nd season with the funniest debrief ever. Thanks everyone, on and off camera, for bringing us this great season. Looking forward to the next one and all your other wonderful content!
So excited to see what ryan's got up his sleeve for season 3 !!
Sad we gotta wait several months for it
33:10 I think Shane has the drifting, unfocused dead-eye on lock
Shane definitely makes the more convincing dead body. For someone so svelt it's impressive to make that pronounced of a double chin when going slack.

The way they were talking about it I was thinking it was really small. Then I looked up the population and saw it was 13,000 and I CACKLED. The town I “live in” (as in live quite a few miles out of town) has a population of less than 700. 😂😂😂
Well, it is not just olean but allegany, olean portville, and Hinsdale
The Olean area is a metropolis compared some of the places in WNY
Japanese RUclips ghost hunters: Oh my god please work with Zo Zo Zo, y’all have the most compatible vibes 🙏🏼 I call Zo zo Zo the ghoul boys of Japan to friends I send their videos to
I have not seen anything like ghost hunting in Japan, but I did see a weird Tik-Tok where these guys had a ghost in their closet that kept making them do weird stuff. Hauntings are real though. Real Estate agents have to tell people if someone died in the apartment on sale. I think that is law. A lot of people do not want to buy old houses because of leftover energy. In my apartment complex, an apartment on my floor has never been rented out for the whole time I've been here. Our management changed, and they tried to contact the people in the unoccupied room... but, still. Nobody has gone in there or done any renovations. It's creepy. My apartment is creepy, too. I could tell you so much about the experiences I've had here myself. Japan is secretly scary.
ohh I would wanna hear about your experiences if you don't mind!
As a Chinese person I think we have a lot of reverence for the dead. Whether or not we believe in ghost, we do pray to the many gods year round. My home have a tiny shrine next to the dining table where we allow the gods to eat the spirit of our food before we eat the physical food.
If ghosts were real we always talk about them in a malicious context. There are no chill ghosts.
Ghosts are typically malevolent and will cause harm to the living if provoked 🤪
honestly the behind the scenes of their trip had much more spookier footage than the actual episode of the haunted location haha
There's a certain amount of what I call "over-production" that can actually take away from the vibe of a horror/spooky show. The low-fi, found footage and spontaneous feeling can really help keep audiences on edge, not knowing what might be about to happen.
But I also love looking at their faces in HD, so what's a guy to do 😂
Thank you Ryan and Shane! Can’t wait for Mystery Files next Yr… til next time
Can't believe it's over 😢. Can't wait for season 3 though and keep up the good work🎉
