@@franzdekelver4012 oooh you mean the "still in a league of his own", i meant that as in "the best of his generation", obviosly theres other great jazz musicians from the past that absolutely are on his level or arguably exceed him like Coltrane or Davis. I do gotta say tho Piazzolla was a tango musician not a jazz musician, obviosly tangos dna does include jazz, but its def more its own thing.

My cousine who is an acoustic engineer sent me this. This is beyond beautiful! That is really as close as you can get musically- making the listener really feel emotions hit really hard. Saw these comments about 6 minutes mark and that is true, this part really hit like a brickwall. Some of the best music I have listened to. Pure awesomeness.

I’ve been watching this video for days trying to decipher the message/symbolism and so far what I’ve come with is that “prologue” refers to an individual’s life before they make some kind of change that transcends themself. The group dancing at first reminds me of the struggle to find individuality and identity among a crowd of people, the man and woman represent the struggles of building a family or finding a partner, and the act with the people wearing masks almost reminds me of struggling with addictions/abuse. A friend of mine mentioned that it looked as if they were dancing in a public center meant for support groups and the tension buildings until the man who is crawling on his back struggles accompanied by Kamasi’s powerful climax until they final act where each dancer has their own background and moves which could represent breaking through or transcending into a changed individual. I hope I’m on to something, either way this is sooo dope and I love the art here!

You really think Miles Davis and John Coltrane would think this is something special? Compare this to what Miles was playing after his quintet recordings or Coltrane recorded on his last 4 recordings. They were light years ahead of this even back then.

I don't think I've ever seen a more impeccable combination of music and visuals. 6 years of waiting for the new proper Kamasi LP, I can't believe it. Around 6 minute mark tears started flowing down my face, that's how incredible this track is. Thank you.

@@yyoshman Who then do you think is the best, personally i think artists like Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah or Matana Roberts aswell as the incredibly unique Colin Stetson are the best of the rest when it comes to modern great saxophone players, but there is only one that clearly stands head and shoulders above all and it is Kamasi.
I wonder why you would say so: His tone isn‘t unique, he‘s mostly playing patterns. His solo on this piece isn‘t exactly adventurous or harmonically inventive. What are your thoughts?
