Cheers got better in the later years. Rare trait for a show.
Giving it another shot 35 years later. So loved the Sam/Diane dynamic. Still tuned in after Season 5, but not religiously. It was hard to see Sam revert to his old self-just seeking conquests and not love. But you are not alone in your opinion that the show got even better. What did you enjoy more as the seasons went by?
@@lnl3237 I can't speak for him but for myself I can name three specific reasons why I think the show was better seasons 6-11. 1. I just prefer Kirstie Alley and Rebecca to Shelley and Diane. I find Rebecca funnier and more relatable to me personally. 2. I much prefer the show as a true ensemble cast and not just the Sam and Diane show. and 3. Ted Danson was simply at his best without Diane around tbh. He really got to show his impeccable comic chops and I think Sam's much better as a true womanizing player then having this on and off romance thing.

I'm looking for a specific moment, when Sam's reaction to Rebecca is Oooooo (Like he says it in a bad way, as if he's been disgusted or shot down). I forgot why he does this or the context, but when he made this sound, I almost fell on the laughing. I've been trying to find it.

I hated rebeccas character tbh. Stuck up thinks shes gods gift to the world. Gold digger. In reality shes was a horrible woman. And repuslsive. Always looking dowm on everybody. Horrible at her job too. And takes no accountability.
