I can't believe I beat this game on every difficulty back then. I don't think I could do it today.

I feel as though Artech had plans to port Beyond Dark Castle to the Genesis, but was cancelled due to the Genesis port of Dark Castle underperforming.

I was so glad to get this game as an 8 year old kid back in the 80:s Finally something to shut up those pesky NES-kids at school, but man, was it hard to play! I only ever finished it (on beginner) with the help of my sister controlling the aiming using the mouse while I steered Duncan using the keyboard :)

You mention Return to Dark Castle is on Steam, but that doesn't seem correct... It'a macOS only and I can't seem to find it on Steam, only the App Store.

Unfortunately only days after I uploaded this video, Apple announced that it will stop supporting 32-bit games. As a result, Steam no longer lists them.
