I bought my first STI, in fact, very first Subaru ever in May of 2021. I must confess Michael, your description and video hit it absolutely 100% out of park. Really loving this car! Thank you!
The heart of a WRX/STI is it's sound period. So weather the FA24 has 400hp or not means very little to most fan's. The sound is what drew people to the car in the first place. My opinion.
@@dar2977 I don't think you totally understand why many many people fell in love with a STI in the first place. It was the unique sound. If it was about performance than without any doubt there were and are way better options. It's like a Rotary losing it sound. A V8 having a different sound. They would lose what makes them unique.
I will read the future for all. In 15 year's any car with the EJ205/7 & EJ255/7 will go through the roof in value. That sound will be missed and desired.
I loved my 06 WXR, when you hit the turbo it would take off. The thing was like on rails in the curves. Then I bought a 08 . More comfortable a bit. But I should have drove it harder testing it out. Sucked cornering I'm sure it wouldn't out run my06 and definitely not in the corners. Just my 2 cents on the WRX. Wish I had my old one back.
Currently with a 2019 WRX, looking for an upgrade to an STI in a year or 2, if the STI is anything close to the new WRX, i think i will be going to something old instead.
The 19-21 sti is imo the best sti’s that will be coming out unless the new one really blows me away, I’m still holding onto my 19 sti’s despite its shortcomings. One thing not mentioned in the video is that the 19+ sti’s all got the type RA’s strengthened internals, doesn’t mean you won’t spin a bearing any sooner but ringland failure is essentially a bump of the past
You will not be upset bro. These sti's hold value. Your better off financing a new clean one, put 200k and still sell it for 25k+ easy. Was gonna get an 05 sti, till I realized how much value they hold. So literally pulled out a 2021 sti yesterday. I'm super happy yo
It can be 4.5 however this is with you launching the car and nailing all of your shifts perfectly, with perfect ambient conditions so your boost actually hits right. 0-60 for me is probably about 5.2-5.5.
I bought a 21' a few months before they made the announcement about the cancellation. I really lucked out. Mine is a garage queen & only has 2500 miles on it.
@@MichaelTaylor-oy7sf I'm really trying to understand the magic of the GD. I'm debating between that or a hatch. Would like a 19+ VA but those are a little out of my budget lol.
2024 here to let you know the 400hp didn't happen... Matter of fact, in my future they came out with a WRX in the legendary TR trim and it only has 271hp & 256tq a 2013 KIA Optima SXL made 274hp and 260tq... I hear the death cries of yet another rally car coming...
I own a 21 sti and i still watch these kind of videos all the time lol
I was able to grab a new 2021 Black STI! So happy with It!
I got a magnetite gray in October! So glad I was able to get a new EJ.
Same here 21 Crystal black 🔥
have fun! i got a 2021 wrx 2.0. i love it!
Nice! I am growing my loving my 2021 STI.

You and me both!
I bought my first Subaru STI in 2023, amazing handling, spectacular drifting. I mean it is only 6" long but the Kyosho Mini Z WRX is the best.
It's a great video. I really hope Subaru doesn't screw up the look or the performance of this new STI. Stay safe brother.

My opinion.
DEFINITELY your opinion.
Drive the new version first then make a performance opinion whether people will agree with you or not. Regarding the look, this is subjective.

Really want to get my hands on a 2020 or 2021 model with less than 15k miles!
so glad i was able to get one

2006 Subaru Wrx STI was bout 3,200-3,300 pounds. 1999 STI GC8 is around 2,800-2900ish. FYI.
Ive been up all night watching WRX reviews because im about to buy a 2022 WRX.
better go 2021 it's gonna be more expensive over time. Way better money spend

About to buy one that I'll be making my daily!
Same here I'm bout to buy one as my daily driver I'm sooo excited. I'm gonna try to get one with as low of mileage as possible!
The interior on suburu vehicles is always disappointing but whatever, we’re not here for that are we?
I would put FP Black on it- it would extend engines life! For real ! Small turbo- high torque is what bad, big turbo- lower torque and mo powa baby!

When subaru no longer put the tachometer in the center of the gauge cluster, you know they were losing their soul.
Good video, but there's no way the new STI has even close to 400 horsepower 😂

Which winter tires are the best for the STI?
Nokian Hakapalitas are number 1 for sure. (I know I butchered name) Blizzaks are a close second.
