at the end of andor we got an end credits scene, where we saw the many pieces of machinery that cassian and the rest of the inmates in the secret prison were constructing day in and day out. What looked like an upgraded version of buzz droids constructing these pieces, flipped over to create the massive dish of the Death Star, we finally got to see everything come into play. Now, before I elaborate on how Andor changes the fate of the galaxy and really slows Palpatine down, I need to talk about the prison. There obviously was something very weird going on with that prison that the empire kept repeating everyone’s sentences, moving them around the prison until they died of old age. This was to prevent them from telling anyone about what they were building when they got out. In the rare chance an engineer could figure out what this machine could be used for, and perhaps tipping off a full investigation publicly or even worse, privately to be exposed. However, enough of the machines were made that we saw them being implemented into the death star that was almost fully operational. Now in Rogue One, which is about a few weeks before star wars episode IV a new hope, we saw the destructive fire power of the battle station for the first time at Tarkin’s orders on Jedha city.
This means it’ll take another while for the death star to be fully operational, and with the possible escape of the prison, all the parts required are delayed.
Now with the delay, this could very well be why Tarkin was ripping on Krennic for the constant set backs, as he took control of the battle station, which fuelled the ‘we stand here amidst my achievement, not yours’ line that Krennic expressively gave to Tarkin.
I think Cassian and Kino Loy’s prison escape put a massive dampner on the Empire’s plans, and force Palpatine to keep the senate around just long enough so that the rebel alliance grew in power and size. If the death star had been ready even a moment earlier, Palpatine would have had total control over the galaxy by perhaps months or maybe even years ahead of time.
This means Luke Skywalker would have had to be sought out sooner by Obi-Wan, and the death star plans might not have been leaked as early as they did in Rogue One. And even if they were, Jyn was younger, and maybe not as formidabble. Saw Gerrera was possibly not in the right place to take her in. So many variables could have been altered if the death star was ready sooner, which Cassian put a stop to. Now don’t get me wrong, he did have a playing hand in the very machine that lead to his and Jyn’s demise, however, he slowed it down just enough to let the rebellion reach the height it needed so that Luke Skywalker could blow up the death star with the use of the force, killing Tarkin and billions of imperial personnel aboard the battle station. Did you know in Star Wars issue 14, that when Vader flew off, spinning from the explosion of the death star, he ended up on a nearby random planet and had to fight these Hyenax on a field. reference - • Here's Where Vader Cra...
Now, there is a controversy with the end credit scene that i must discuss, and that is the fact that the planet is not geonosis. The death star was built over geonosis, however, here it is clearly a different planet. Why is this? Well, it could be a mistake by the director, or perhaps at this moment, for whatever reason, the death star had flown to another part of the galaxy to a different planet. For those who don’t know, the death star was built over geonosis and the empire exterminated all geonosians. The whole idea was stealth and keeping things on the low. If anyone would ever find out that such a planet destroyer was being made, palpatine would no longer be emperor, and the galaxy would impeach him.
So it was prudent he kept this all a secret. and a secret it was kept, quite well I must say. Cassian didn’t find out about the death star until rogue one and mon mothma is oblivious to its existence as well. This fight to bring down the empire was done so out of the sheer dislike they have for how the empire has ruled the galaxy, but once the rebels find out about the death star for the first time, it’ll be quite interesting to see them scramble.

Wookiepedia states that they moved the Death Star from Geonosis to Scarif after the superstructure was finished and all that was left was the super laser. So, the scene where they install the laser array in Rogue One with Tarkin making an appearance took place over Scarif.
Alright!
I read darth plagueis years ago and loved it. I recently spent a credit to get the audio. I have 1hr left on the kenobi audio. Then this is next
Audible are shit toward authors - avoid at all cost
I think there’s some information in the novel Tarkin from James Luceno on how they could move the death star if i remember right
It's poetic that Andor created and died from the Death Star all along.
Brilliant! I didn't think of it that way.
It’s like poetry … uh it rhymes
He helped build it. He was killed by it. He helped the Rebels get the plans to destroy it. He basically said to the Death Star, "If I'm going down, I'm taking you with me."
@@coruscant100 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🏻
Yup. Andor, Jyn Erso, Krennic all were in connected in some way to the Death Star's construction and they all were eliminated by the death star.
Not a mistake by the director dude. We saw during Rebels they moved it from Geonosis. It's explained elsewhere it was finished over Scarif.
Rebels takes place after this and the debris was still there when they first visited it.
@@Squiddy-go1du and that's fine but we already know it was moved to Scarif. We don't know when yet.
What episode of rebels did they move the death star?
@@rsmith627 started building it above Geonosis in ep3 then they moved it across the galaxy (without being seen) to what is presumably Scariff then back to Geonosis.
@@Squiddy-go1du it does take place after this, but it still wasn't there in rebels. So it not being there now also makes sense
6:35 the Death Star was originally being built over geonosis but if you guys remember in a couple of episodes of rebels they discover that something was being built there but it was moved and the geonosians were wiped off the planet except for the one geonosian they found with a queen egg. We know that the episode takes place way before this end credit scene because saw guerrera was in the rebels episode and he was bald while all through andor he has his grey hair. @starwarstheory.
Rebels takes place within 5 years before Rogue One. And the first time we seen Saw was in 3 BBY then Andor takes place in 5 BBY.
@@jaygeoc technically we see saw for the first time in the clone wars. He was the older brother in the story arc where obi-wan, Anikan and Ashoka teach a group of rebels how to fight. We then see saw guerrera for the first time in live action in rogue one, he then makes cameo appearances though out all of rebels and he is bald meaning it’s before his grey hair days of andor and rogue one. We know that bald saw is a younger saw because in rogue one he rescues a young jinn urso after directed krinnik takes her dad and he’s bald in that scene.
@@marcusberber8510 I'm not talking about The Clone Wars, I'm talking about Rebels, the first time we saw him in the Rebels series.
I was thinking the same thing. It can be pretty easily explained as “they moved the Death Star construction because the senate was investigating what happened on geonosis” did they have to genocide this planet then too? Most likely just Tony gilroy messed up and there wasn’t anyone around to let him know because the “story group” doesn’t actually know Star Wars, but oh well it can be explained easy enough
I hope they didn’t have any screws in that Death Star because if they do then it sucked and I can’t watch Star Wars anymore because now it’s ruined.
The thing I like about the Andor series is that Cassian doesn't have Force abilities or special warrior skills like a Mandalorian. He's just a regular guy who finds himself getting caught up in the early days of the Rebellion.
He is a spy/infiltrator ... as Han Solo is a smuggler...
@@prew_gaming And just like Han he is not exactly an upstanding citizen and kind of a rouge who at first doesn't want to get involved but comes to realize that the Rebellion is the only chance the Galaxy has to stop the Empire.
@@keithallver2450 The Empire is so fucked up that it brings out the hero in everyone lol
I mean, having a violently oppressive dictatorship is obviously BAD.
But characters like Han and Andor believably show us that in terrible times, selfish people can become selfless and do what must be done to help everyone.
@@cykeok3525 Well said!
I don't know if you could say that. Cassian is clearly very competent from the get go. He's a good shot and a great pilot. All the time, he clearly knows what he's doing. The only time he's clueless is inside the prison, but that's cause he's never been arrested before. Having warrior skills is not the same as prison experience, especially surpersecret supermax prisons
If you ask me Andor is the best thing to come out of Star Wars since Disney took over, not including Clone Wars new seasons. And I’m currently reading Darth Plaguies novel, I’m on chapter 5! It’s an amazing novel so far!
Yes, it really feels like Star Wars!
In fact it feels like a genuine extension of the films, especially the glimpse into middle-class life on Coruscant.
Also, the internals of the early Alliance.
the plaguis novel is great!
@@cykeok3525 I know right! And I love the realism!
Can’t like Andor and be a real fan
@@bigbird2240 don’t be a gatekeeper
Memory could serve me wrong but in Star Wars rebels, don’t they go to geonosis and the death star is no where to be seen? They talk about a circle in a circle and assume it’s the gas canisters not the Death Star. If this is right then I don’t think this is an issue at all
Glad someone mentioned this. I think it's also hinted at in one of the thrawn novels? But rebels definitely does
The planet in the end credits scene is Scarif. They moved it there from Geonosis.
@Star Wars Theory in the first scene during which we meet the ISB supervisors, an off-handed comment mentions that resources are being transported to Scarif. Furthermore, if you listen to the audio description track during the post credit scene, the narrator clearly states the death star’s location is above Scarif. This makes sense because this is where the plans are being stored. And as others have already pointed out, the death star’s relocation from Geonosis perfectly aligns with the time frame as that specific rebels arc has already occurred. Might be worth your time to do a fully chronological binge of the period between ROTS and ANH.
Where's the best place to find that? I've seen some infographics but they lack any detail.
I hope that Andor continues on the same path of tone for season 2. It really is a breath of fresh air to see a different side of Star Wars. I hope they carry on down this path. I know some have complained about the pace but it’s why the pay off feels even better because we have spent time with these characters and you actually care about them. Gotta shout out Luthen Rael. An amazing character and one that I want to know more about. I think he maybe ex-empire and something happened to make him see that there must be another way. I’ve seen many theories and I love that it makes us fans discuss and talk. Well done Mr Tony Gilroy and the crew 👍👏
The pace was slow at times, but I do agree with you about the tone! One thing I loved about rogue one was the "grittier" side of Star Wars, and Andor took it to a whole new level.
Couldn’t have said it any better. Its all about the build up and pay off and boy does andor master that
The post credits scene obviously takes place after or during Star Wars Rebels season 2. In episode 11 or 12 we see that scaffolding materials were above genosis but obviously no death star was there. So it does line up that they left genosis and if they hadn't the rebels would have found out about it.
They moved it to the Hormuz system because they ran out of screws.
The episodes of Rebels your thinking of "The Ghosts of Geonosis" are from Rebels Season 3 Episodes 12 and 13 and take place in 2 BBY.
You would think Theory would know this. It just seems like he is invested in proving Tony Gilroy has no idea what he is doing.
@@2apocalypse-X Thatd be to early. It's actually season 2 episode 16 the honorable ones , where zeb and kallus end up on a moon of genosis.
If it made the move from Geonosis (to Scarif?) earlier, then Rebels and Andor don't contradict.
Also, interestingly, the Death Star looks like it might have been hyperspace-capable quite long before the superlaser was ready/installed.
Finally just watched the last episode of Andor. Really enjoyed it. Very impressive show and different take on Star Wars. Music was brilliant, too.
On Wookieepedia this is what it says on the Death Star at Geonosis “After the rebel Partisan Saw Gerrera came close enough to discovering the station, the Empire was prompted to move it from Geonosis to Scarif in 9 BBY. All that remained were a series of Imperial construction modules orbiting the planet Geonosis. As a security measure to keep the Death Star a secret, the Empire also used poison canisters to sterilize the planet, killing all but one of the Geonosians.” So Andor’s placement of the Death Star isn’t wrong since it’s takes place around 4-5 BBY.
ok
what a trip this show has been, emotion, tension, spectacular speeches, visually great, perfect? no, excellent? completely
I think it's orbiting Scariff in the end credits scene. Its known that it was moved from Geonosis at some point during construction and we also know it was finished over Scariff. Well, it's looking pretty close to being finished. That's just my thoughts. Enjoyed the video as always and thanks.
I think the planet the Death Star is currently at is Scarif. In episode 4 in the ISB meeting, Jung talks about how there’s an increase in construction shipments going to Scarif, and of course that’s also where the original plans are held. And the planet did look like it could be Scarif
In R1 there is the line right as the battle happens, "A massive object emerging from hyperspace". That would imply to me that it was not at Scariff until that Battle. But i don't know.
@@wildzach Maybe the death star was being constructed in Scariff, then moved to that Jedha moon and destroys it, then it finally return to Scariff again for the final battle
@@wildzach It probably was only being built there then once it was completed it was moved somewhere else, it doesn’t need to have a “home base”. Like how in Return of the Jedi, it was stationed at Endor just because it was finished being built and needed protection
That theory actually lines up perfectly because there's a couple of episodes of rebels where they travel to genosis and as you can see in those episodes There Is No Death Star
Really has a complaint over screws and nails lol
Thank you for waiting a couple days to put this video out vs other RUclipsrs who put this end credit scene in the thumbnail of videos the day the episode came out and spoiled it for me.
Another great video dude thanks
The Planet is Scariff and the Death Star was moved there in 9 BBY.
In Rebels the Ghost crew go to Geonosis to rescue Saw Gerrera and they find evidence of something being built on Geonosis as well as Click Clack, the last surviving Geonosian after the empire slaughtered them all for having knowledge of the Death Star. The likely reason the post credit scene doesn’t take place on Geonosis is because it is after they have moved the Death Star’s location to another planet and slaughtered the hive.
Bruh, the death star is big, but I doubt there were "billions" or "trillions" of personnel on board.
I figured they were making pieces for the Death Star in the prison, so I was glad to see it confirmed.
Also, the end credit seen does well to establish where along the timeline the show took place.
Good thinking then.. personally I didn't even guess it, I just thought they were random mechanical doodads.
amazing star wars content
no light sabers, no force users, just plain old blasters and good ole Rebel Scum.
That's why I love Star Wars. It's more than just Vader and Luke, and this show + mandalorian really did a great job at highlighting that.
We listened to Darth Plagues on Audible last spring and like you said it was fantastic. Hope they make a show of it soon
There are no screws in Star Wars!
The end credits scene is so cool to me! I was through the roof seeing it first time! Didn’t even realize until later that those pieces were what were being constructed in the prison. Such a cool tie-in and just an awesome scene. I’m not too bothered by which planet it’s over. Your explanation makes sense to me.
Rouge one is so underrated... top 3 for me.. andor just makes it better...
Hey Theory do you still hate Star Wars bricks? If you do, there are some bricks in the Bad Batch and the OT.
There's also bricks on Naboo and Yavin. Trees on Endor, real life modified guns. Also... better yet, humans.
no! I can't take it anymore!! Say it ain't so
@@StarWarsTheory haha
I always imagine that when the Death Star is going through hyperspace, it spins around in circles like a globe.
That's a good connection between this series and the death star. I liked andor after watching past the first couple episodes.
I called it!!! I knew that's what they were making in the prison!
Great show, can't wait for season 2! This and Mando have been the best thing since rogue one, hands down.
I mean dude... We all knew lol
Some people were saying tie fighter. Not everybody knew.
Well when the bar is set so low with the other shows it's not that hard but overall Andor wasn't anything special
Thanks for the video General Theory, I Loved this so getting to the end of season one and seeing that "Small Moon" Being created was Amazing!!! So cool🤘
The end credit scene reminds me of how a Jedi would piece together a light saber using only the force.
I wonder what screws the Death star used?
I was looking for these comments. I think it used flat head screws.
SO THAT'S WHERE THEY WENT!!! I've always had a few screws loose, but the last time I went to therapy to get them tightened they were missing altogether... I must get revenge against The Empire for making me crazy; but how?.. I know... I'll vandalize the soap dispenser in a public bathroom. ON CORUSCANT!! hhmmmmwwaaaAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Maybe the same ones that are in lightsaber hilts and many other things in the prequels and originals.
That would actually be some cool fan fics, what if the Death Star finished on time or what if the galaxy found out about Palpatines plan
Season 1 of Andor was the best SW content put out to date, full stop. It doesn't need to be faster or more action packed for the sake of it. And I bet we see Hera Syndulla in S2 and Bail Organa.
Best sw content?
Totally agree
@@jangomango66 Yup
@@jangomango66 Better than Mando tbh
The moment you realized Theory liked your comment because you mentioned cameos 💀
I think it was very fitting to have that final scene for a few reasons:
(1) letting the viewer know what he was building is just good story telling. Introduce a small item that has huge ramifications. (2) reminding the viewer that this is part of the larger star wars narrative. Now that's obvious from the show, but ha inf the death star feels like a cameo from a main character from the larger story that makes sense. Its the none "fan service" connection we need. (3) Ander as a character is introduced because of the death star threat, makes sense to connect it and show the irony of the having taken part of building the very thing that kills him.
Good stuff!
I really enjoy all your work. If I didn't have money issues I would join the channel. But I did want to tell you I love everything you've done on this channel.
Trillions of imperials ? lol You hyped the Death Star too much.
Some screws in a security cam feels kinda small when Liam Neeson spent an entire movie talking into a female razor! 😅
I wouldn’t want season two to be full of memberberry juice, no constant callbacks like Obi wan is what I really enjoyed about it. The best Star Wars since rogue one easy.
Just got done watching that epic finale.
What an amazing series!
Very well written and excellently executed.
It's the best 2022 show along with HOTD for me.
And let's be honest, this is the best that live action star wars has been since the original trilogy.
Don’t forget Tarkin was also speaking about the delays illustrated in the Thrawn trilogy, when Krennic’s supply lines were being disrupted by rebels
No
I was totally surprised by the scene. It looked amazing, and most of us guessed that’s what they were working on. I’ve read Tarkin, and you get a sense of how the Death Star was created in secrecy.
I guess at first you could see it as cheap fan service, but at the same time you could see it as setting up the big threat. They had a victory at the end of Andor. They rattled the occupation in their town, and casian got away. So it’s like the empire is saying hold my beer with the shot of the Death Star.
Much like ANH was the big celebration at the end and then Empire comes out and shows them who they are really dealing with.
So all in all that shot felt necessary for setting up season 2. I hope they don’t do a bunch of cameos in the next season. Keep it grounded. I don’t think we need tarkin either. I like seeing all these other commanders. It’s refreshing. Gives the show depth.
I was drunk with my watch party I said “ Woah…. Some farm kids gonna one shot that beautiful thing. “
Absolutely loved this show, I really enjoyed the route they are taking before rogue one, and a different type of usual star wars media.
The question has been WHY is ANDOR one of the best pieces of STAR WARS????
SWOG77 - I'm an OG 77 fan fathering now 3 generations of SW fans. I've been reading so many amazing comments and dialogue - too many examples - I'll choose one - Andor Ep 7 min 34:34 thru 36:18. --
What is the main SW theme that Theory, myself, and most OG SW fans love so much? Why have I spent countless hours at toy stores, playing SW video games, light saber duels, and late night talks with the kids about right and wrong using SW as my foundation? Why is SW now part of our culture - especially as Americans or anyone who believes in Freedom, Justice, and Family? Is it the fight between good and evil??? Sure, but all action movies (Especially the movies Josh likes) and franchises are engaged in that fight. So Why does SW stand above?
THE HERO'S JOURNEY!
When Theory was stricken as a child, he stated many times that his relationship to Luke and his father helped him get through. Theory has his own hero's journey. We all saw and loved his tears when his hero showed up at the Mando Season End.
It's the hero's Journey. In its most epic moments - Anikin Falling to the Dark side, then has his son save him and bring balance to the universe.
The Bad Batch - Asoka - Rebels - Clone Wars - and of Course 'Rouge One' all follow the GL Heroes Journey. Obi-Wan - tried as well. I felt it was caught in between supplying enough lightsaber battle scenes for the Video game SW Fans with action scenes and great storytelling filmmaking.
(I call the SW Video Game fan - soft SW fans. Ok, that's not nice on my part. But I'm 60, and feel SW is so much deeper. I thought Jar Jar was a brilliant character because my little grandkids giggled and laughed and we went to the toy store which brought them into the universe. R2D2, Ewoks, C3Po all have a purpose)
Andor - Hits home with our hero's journey in a deep and very adult way! The moment I picked for you is amazing !! A mother and son collide in different moments of their own hero's journey. "It's Love," she says to him - at the end she picks up the blaster from the table ready to fight, with his back turned, He states "I'll return" and She says "I know". Then as we know she makes her death video where he completes his Heroes Journey.
Andor is truly amazing filmmaking with its real sets, individual personal feel, love, fear, cinema photography and so much more!! It's the HEROES JOURNEY that really brings it to the front. Almost every character has an Arc! On both sides. Even the smallest characters, if you re-watch it, you'll see, the director's influence even in the extras. Real people all having to decide for themselves where they stand?
Is the birth of the rebellion clean? Are the Batlle scenes perfect? NO. But neither is BIRTH. It's messy, and bloody, with a ton of screaming, but it brings life!!! All of this to get to A NEW HOPE.
Are there silly things to question like "Bricks or screws". Sure, but for every SW piece, we can do that. (my funny nitpicking item is Breathable air on every planet).
I feel the attention to detail (the opening title music slowly growing and changing) is truly legendary, and the ending song/parade/her speech coming from an old non-warrior person --- Truly Epic, Like all great SW pieces the question is asked of you - Where will your brick be placed in your own Heroes Journey?
There is literally screws on Luke's lightsaber in Empire Strikes Back and Obi Wan's in A New Hope.
Anyway, hope you learnt from everybody mentioning these things Theory lol, there's also screws in the prequels.
Love that in the early stages of the rebellion, the only time we see orange and white - the primarily used colors of the rebellion - are in the prison. Almost as if the prison was the birth of more than just the death star.
I love that you were right about what they were manufacturing being part of the death star. And i find it funny that I saw so many fans of this series who disagreed saying, "it doesn't matter what they're making that's not what's important and because andor has good writing they aren't going to tell us what it is."
Haha well they did.. and it's funny because I don't think the writing of andor was hinged on whether they told us that detail or not...
That said it's seriously sad seeing the fanbase so divided because they disagree about something in the franchise. I hope everyone remembers this is not how sane human beings interact face to face in real life. People don't treat eachother as human online and I've seen this only get worse in the last 4 years. We are all here on this channel because star wars holds a special place in our hearts. We don't all have to love every piece of content or agree on it. Remember what it's like talking to your best friend, your partner, little brother etc... in real life as you write your next post or comment. When you have differing opinions do you have a civil conversation about it, sharing and hearing both points of view? Or do you completely try to demolish them and resort to talking down to them or being disrespectful in anyway? Sorry for the rant but i really hope to see the SW Fandom coming together as friends and family regardless of disagreements and opinions.
you really just quick shows so you can go on with your day while having familiar faces
In regards to the Death Star not being above Geonosis, in Rebels, they went to Geonosis and there were remnants. Ik some don’t like rebels, but that’s the explanation 😊😊
Just because we see the outside of the Death Star, doesn't necessarily mean that its near completion like a lot of people have been saying. There could still be a lot of work left to be complete on the inside.
Yes. This is 100% true
@@Simon-Sax it is. It’s literally the opening plot point of Rogue One. And a big part of Catalyst and the Tarkin novel.
The focusing laser took AGES to get right.
The Death Star shoots green because having different colours for the two factions makes it easier to identify what's going on in space action scenes. And I'm sorry for pointing that out, because it's the obvious answer, as everybody knows, but it can be difficult for the writers to retcon choices that were made simply from a practical point of view ^^
Starts at 1:39.
I think the planet where the Death star is being constructed is supposed to be Scarif, and I think one of the novels says that the construction was moved from Geinoses to Scarif in 9 BBY, so before Andor
Totally agree re. Pleaguis. Also my favourite Star Wars book, and I buy 'em all.
I suspect B2EMO will be uploaded into K2, they seem to have similar personalities as well as a close bond and loyalty to Cassian.
Scarif also was a construction zone
I've pointed that out on multiple videos now. Theory definitely doesn't know all. That's ok though.
It might have been built over geonosis, but even in rebels it wasn't over geonosis as it was being built still. It's totally fine that it got moved around.
Good recommendation, you didn't mention the quality of the narration in the Darth Plagueis audiobook though. Daniel Davis done one of the best performances I've ever heard on an audiobook, and I've listened to a lot!
Dank Ferrik! Maybe Mando is referring to Farrixs with this saying, Also with Farrix being the fall of Cyril and now Deedra, will she get demoted or disbarred and held accountable for what happened?
How many bricks and screws does the Death Star use
Ha! Theory I actually just finished listening to the Plagueis novel audiobook. It was so good! Never thought I’d see the day where you do an ad lol
Darth bane books are probably some of the best books to ever touch Star Wars. It’s almost like they said duck every project but andor and that sits so wrong with me. You don’t think they could’ve made every show up to this caliber?? They could’ve really easy.
I always enjoy getting more footage of the Death Star.
This video of yours is very good and interesting, keep making similar videos 👍👍👍👍👍
How many screws do you think are in the death star
At least five.
Definitely more than five.
The screws thing is a bit much to complain about lol
Much live theory. Appreciate your work
I think the existence of Narkina 5 answers why the Death Star wasn't over Geonosis. Imagine how many factories would be needed to manufacture the various parts of the station, from power generators to gravity plating to hull armour to weapons systems. I imagine there were thousands of planets involved in assembling the Death Star, each one focusing on one particular part of the station, like Narkina 5 was building those big rivets for the Death Star's main cannon.
Geonosis was where the bulk of the work was done, but the millions of parts being manufactured across the galaxy were probably shipped to different secret locations to be assembled, then moved to the main site to be installed on the station proper.
Also, I think that blue world resembles Scarif a bit.
The Empire killed off all of the Geonosians about 4 years before the Andor series. So it would make sense that they moved it because if the rebels found both the Death Star and a planet-wide genocide, it would have been a lot worse for the Emperor.
The Death Star could be over one of the moons that zeb and callus landed on in rebels. That is a moon of Geonosis.
I really hope in season 2 we see Jyn Erso, I know she won’t meet Andor because they first meet on Yavin 4 on Rogue One, but maybe have a side story of her and why she ended up in that prison at the start of Rogue One, maybe the time when Saw left her.
YEP!! I knew it as well, bro, it's quite ironic that Cassian built and destroyed it up until his sacrifice in Scarif.
Good stuff, and the post credit scene brings me so much nostalgic feelings since MCU's first movie: Iron Man.
The death stars construction did start over geonosis but it was moved constantly too to hide it. The book called the Death Star actually covers that cause they ended up over a tropical island planet where they held prisoners who actually worked on the Death Star itself and once the super laser was actually finished and assembled they tested it on the planet but instead of destroying the planet by explosion it set the atmosphere a blaze and turned the planet into a dead planet with the prisoners on it.
The Death Star was built over Geonosis soon after Revenge of the Sith, then moved to Scariff. The novel Rogue One "Catalyst" chronicles the construction of the Death Star. By 5 BBY, the Death Star has long left Geonosis behind...and the Geonosians have been all nearly wiped out.
My The Force be with you sir, great content
Fun fact: the death star was buildt by using screws
and bricks
Darth Plagueis narrated by Daniel Davis on Audible I actually just used audible for the first time here a while back, and I listen to the Darth Plagueis book Great Story..I tested it out by rereading the doors been path of destruction book I had already read it, but there are some words that I didn’t know if I was pronouncing right so I listen to it on the Audible, a but I just couldn’t spring that $15.95 a month I believe it’s worth it but
I think the assumption is the end credit scene is happening right after or around the time of episode 12. It could be a flash-forward showing it being built with the items from the prison just to close that loop/curiosity, closer to the time of Rogue 1, when we see the “laser dish” actually being added to the Deathstar marking it complete.
What? Killing people had 0 to do with them building nondescript structural components...
They killed the whole floor when they realized they weren't getting out because there were not enough guards to maintain the peace. The prisoners could easily overpower the security force and they knew it... that's why they were visibly nervous... I mean... besides them specifically stating it in the show...
Did you even watch this?
I cried when I saw brick and screw! Please have Josh back on to talk about Andor.
Star Wars Rebels has a bit of Saw Gerrera's reaction to the Death Star being built. Within the first 10 episodes of season 4, Saw is trying to find out what the empire is up to and it also ties in Rogue 1.
The Death Star wasn't finished around geonosis. It was moved leaving an abandoned construction site orbiting around geonosis. The Death Star was moved in nine BBY to scarif
I feel like season 1 was a big setup to the "main part" of the show, which will be season 2. even though it was slow, elaborate setup pays off very well when viewers have better understanding of the story, characters, and where they came from.
Dude what is the obsession with the screws, similar guns, and bricks 😂😂😂😂
End credit was a nice confirmation for what the prisoners were building
Hey guys today's sponsor is bricks and screws aha!
“Screws in security cameras aren’t star wars” … a bit OCD for me
the crystals are green for the death star because if from what i remember in Rebels, they become radioactive or destabilized and it exploded in green. so the Empire harnessed this extreme power and focused the energy into a singular beam and that’s why it’s green, because of the stability of the crystals.
I would agree with the in world answer for the Death Star being over a different planet. You would want to move it around in order to keep it secret. If it moved from sector to sector, that would make it harder to identify a logistical pattern, as resources would be going to different star systems, helping mask the full aggregate of the logistical supply chain.
I wonder what would have happened if the building of the death star has been discovered. If palpatine would have been removed from his position, what would he have done and how would it have changed the fate of the galaxy (Luke & Obi-Wan, etc.)
Yes! We need a fan theory on that!
I wonder what happened if they used bricks and screws to build it instead
It would have hastened the fall of the Empire, I think, and the result would have been more decisive.
Looking at it clinically from an in-universe perspective (not a narrative perspective), the Rebel victory we see in the OT was by a hair's breadth, and the Alliance actually ended up relying on a lot of fortunate circumstance in factors that were outside their control. To paraphrase, they got lucky a lot.
If the Death Star was discovered before it was ready, popular opposition against the Empire would have started building up much earlier, so at any given time, the Rebels would be closer to parity. If calls for the Emperor to step down are not met, we might even see entire systems or sectors declaring secession from the Empire, leading to a symmetric civil war instead of the asymmetric conflict that took place
Then again, with the amount of luck the Rebels canonically had (barely obtaining the plans from Scarif, Luke, Leia and Han pulling off their escape, the victory at Yavin, etc.. that might actually be the best outcome.
It's like in the actual OT events they banked on the longest odds in the house, but somehow they won the bet.
Not only the prison escape but the Ghost Crew destroying the kyber crystals meant for the Death Star also delayed the battle station from being completed.
It took about 19 years (between ep III and IV) to build the 1st death star. How come was the 2nd built so quickly? Between ep IV and VI? Any evidence both were built simultaneously?
In my opinion, Andor was really good! Or at least, I’m happy that they didn’t completely mess something up, whether it be a character, a story, or the universe as a whole. To me, it makes sense that the Death Star is at the level of completion that it is. It took them about four years to make the larger second Death Star, which was about halfway complete. Regarding the Death Star’s placement, I had thought that this had already been explained in other media. The Ghost Crew travelled to Geonosis and it wasn’t there. The planet is Scariff, as specified by the ISB spy. “There’s an increase of construction shipments going to Scariff.”
the screws and bricks nitpick is still damn silly tho

Makes sense to move the death star to the planets where the parts were being manufactured. Assuming all of it wasn't built in the same place
