Hey 👋 what do you think of this Bothy? I can’t believe it’s taken us this long to stay in one, I was honestly so blown away by how cute it was! Def better than staying in a tent 🤣 thanks for joining us again! Stick around for next week, we’ve taken a ferry into the rough North Sea ⛴ 🌊 Want to find out more about Bothies? Want help contribute th their up keep? Check out: www.mountainbothies.org.uk Iz xx
What a great experience. Well done. The fire must have really made the stay special. I stayed in botheys for the first time last August (aged 67). Did a walking trip near Ullapool with my son and his dog Daisy. 3 nights, 1 camping, and two in different botheys. Both were great. I reminded my son that last time we walked up into the hills camping together, he was a little boy. I think it was 1982. He suggested that we ought to do it more often than once every 40 years! It was an amazing experience that will be long remembered.
It's great to see you two lovely people in beautiful Scotland . I'm a proud Scottish man. Thank you for sharing your fantastic travels with us all . I love watching you two lovely people and your adventures . ❤
Maybe add a link to the MBA and make it clear that bothies are intended to be used by weary hikers and not just a free holiday home for a couple of days
What a great video, you captured the walk, the views and the stay in the bothy perfectly, i'm sure we all felt that we were there with you experiencing the bliss of the highlands with you. Thank you for sharing, xx
Hi guys. Great vid tonight. What agreat experience to stay in the bothy, bet you both loved it there.. yet again fantastic scenery to enjoy. Take care guys.
Hi Tom and Izzy. Haven't left a comment for ages but, don't worry, have been enjoying your videos with the same joy as always! My younger son, now living in london, when he comes home to Scotland, where we live, is an avid Gill walker and loves staying in a bothy!! Glad it was such a lovely experience for you both. It looked very comforting and homely!
So much wisdom for two young ones ! Old souls you are, and your a huge inspiration for us all , I love your energy and I love your going to the Bothy, clever man sometimes bothies are taken over by party idiots that don’t stick to the bothy rules, the first time I found a bothy I was 21 I’m 56 now, no mobile phones, no apps, no one knew where they were, even the maps had a secret code for the bothies, which are always right when you need them, in my case it saved my life, the beds were built out of stone, they were so clean always stocked with wood and a way to restock the wood too, the only one window is to keep the heat in and the carbon out, always leave it open just a tiny crack - Old Owl 🦉 Alaya, don’t forget to leave something for the bothy pixies….. there should be a line to hang your wet socks and clothes up to dry before the morn, you two crack on I’ve subscribed I love ta see your faces wen yer find something new, bless yer cotton socks, from a pixie bothy dweller and trail blazer of old ☘️
Just beautiful, as a Scotsman I think we sometimes take for granted the scenery and nature. You two look so cosy in the Bothy. Hope you enjoyed your burns supper and maybe next time you can re-site some Rabbie Burns by the 🔥 fire. 😊 x looking forward to seeing where you guys go next 👍
This is such a cool episode, I really think you show your can do attitude more than ever before. Nepal has given you this. Last week you were in my locale of Northumberland(glad you had a nice time) and now you’re in a Bothy in Scotland. You both looked completely relaxed with the landscape and the weather and the minimal facilities. Well done, thanks for sharing your journey ✌️
Now that I think was one of your most beautifully calm adventures, so refreshing for you both, recharging your batteries, what an unexpected suprise. Ha ha and a great dip, fairplay to you both. Again ,such beautiful landscape, ye are blessed.
Although there are countless other videos of couples and their lifestyles I find yours to be packed with variety that makes for some cracking viewing....proper travel.Well done
I need to find the Iz to my life - willingness for adventure and a ball of happiness everywhere she goes! With Tom being ever supportive by her side! Another great video :D
Fantastic Vlog once again. No mountain too high or river too deep to deter you two from your adventures.. Beautiful scenery captured so well on camera and drone. Great narration throughout Isabel. You both make us feel like we're there with you. 🚐👏👏☘
Brilliant Video. Excellent shots. Appreciate the time took editing this. Thanks for taking me away from the humdrum for a while. Looking forward to the next one.
As someone who has been very adventurous and traveled a lot, watching your videos gives me chills, to be honest. Because I lost myself living in a city instead and not following my true calling and having a more exciting and adventurous life. You bring a lot of inspiration, positivity, and a unique perspective on life. Thank you for creating these videos and sharing them with us :) Wish you all the best.
Great video. Scotland is a place worth visiting. Been there twice, never stayed in a Bothy. It looked cosy, especially with the crackling fire. Heaven 😊
Great to see you in a “Bothy” we love Braemar, Glenshee and all the places nearby. Lovely to see Scotland again. I always look at the webcams in the area to see if there is any snow etc. Lovely video, sorry about your door lock, what a pain! Cheers to both Mike👍🍷🍷
I really loved your Bothy never heard of one before. Loved the little fire ye made and right beside the river. Continue having fun as ye are so well traveled
Knew it was Shielin of Mark from the opening shot of the video! Cracking bothy, looks like there's been a bit of work done since I visited it last. Was my wives first ever bothy too. Nice quick walk in from Spittal of Glenmuick, much easier than across the Capel or from Loch Lee.
Another great adventure and vlog you two..thank's for sharing your experiences.. your spot on Izz about going for a walk if you are feeling a bit out of sorts, alway's the best medicine Looking forward to your next vlog aleady take care goofers 😀 xx
Nothing better than a good old Scottish Bothy and a skinny dip in a frozen stream LOL - well done though, love the feel of a fire when out in the sticks and agree Tom very primeval but very much about connecting to the greater essences of life 🙂 loved this one guys
Was lovely to meet you too Jess! So much fun! We loved you guys 🥰So glad we got to be on the same ferry !! Maybe we will get to meet Joe one day as well woop!
Peaceful ... that bothy looked great; hard to beat a crackling fire! Enjoy your N.S. 'voyage (went to the Shetlands once (and I won't forget it - a 'tad' rough!). Great video!
I think it's great that you do exciting things and that I didn't know what the bothy was like until she saw it. You are so brave just following GPS and hoping you get there, which you always do. Good job there were no gots/sheep higher up the river who used it as a toilet!! Great filming as usual.
We just heard about bothies. What a great place to stay. We’re heading to Scotland in April so like seeing your latest trip. Keep up the great work 😁👍🏽
Just stumbled on your channel guys!! Loverly people, great adventures, never change, embrace and absorb all this life has to offer! No valid plans for the future can be made by those who’ve no capacity for living now x
The both of you are off the scale mad as hatters 😂😂😂😂😂. I love watching you both on your travels, especially in my beloved Scotland. Keep up the fantastic work.
Watched all your travels and loved every one, Tom you would be such a fantastic teacher and a real inspiration to children you explain everything so easy!! Not sure about lz think she’s as mad as a box of frogs😂😂
That was simply wonderful and one of my favourite videos that you've done. Your drone footage was spectacular and it looks like you had an amazing time. We were actually in The Cairngorms the week before you, staying in Ballater. It was superb and there was loads of snow while we were there. We popped into snowy Braemar which was lovely too. Mind you, the drive back down the 'Snow Road' from Glenshee was pretty scary in a blizzard!
Yeah I was a little worried the road would be closed due to snow actually but it was actually pretty clear when we went through. Such a wonderful part of the world, I love it there.
Great clip this 😊 thanks for travelling to my great country 🏴🏴 There is bothys in England & Wales aswell had some great times which bothy did you Stay at can't put my finger on this one
You two are amazing facing each obstacle ( they have showers too at service stations in the loos.) 20 years ago that road through the cairngorms was full of purple heather and green so so green, now due to animal grazing and environmental damage, your not getting to see and feel the real vibe im sad xxx old 🦉 owl alaya, A pixie poking her heed around the door ! 😂
Such a stunning video guys! I really look forward to each video each week and finding out where you go and what you do. I agree whiskey tastes better out and about.
Hi devil travellers! Very interesting trip, stunning views in Scotland! Yoummy meals, Isobel is great cooker! First I met a word- bothy- ( translater said - small hut)
I think you should write a book cataloging your travels - Jack Kerouac style - just to capture your musings on life and also to drop some vital life hacks: like appreciating the dawn, or the crackle of an open fire or the importance of securing your banana.
Hey Tom & Iz. Another super adventure and video. I’ve actually stayed in two different bothys in the Scottish Highlands. One was 45 mins walk from my jeep. But I loved the experience of isolation, peace and quiet. I wish you both well on your travels and ty for bringing us along with you both. 🚶🏻🚶🏻🙏🙏
Omg just stumble across your video as we’ve just gotten a van! Thought I recognised the guy and it’s you Tom! Don’t know if you remember but Adam and Julia from the locker in Cambridge! So nice to see that you’re doing well and having fun
Haha, amazing! What a small world. Glad to hear you have a van now as well. Hope the locker ☕️ is doing well and that you and Adam will have lots of adventures in your new van 🚐
You guys really are living the dream. The naked bathing was brave. Could you imagine suddenly bumping into some hikers 😂😂😂😂. Being away from a signal and other people with just a fire and good company........well that's what life is supposed to be right?
Hi there, which bothy where you at? I have been to many in Scotland when I was young, even done some work parties. Was a member of the MBA back then. Great charity. Keep up the great vlogs
Turnip, tumshee, neep (not a swede) is actually a Swedish Turnip, brought into Scotland to help counter the impact of the famine caused by potato blight.
Ohh god I would love to paint that sunset what are the con-ordinates for that bothy ? And your the first people I’ve seen crossing the burns in the right way ( barefoot) so many hikers won’t cross if their boots are going to get wet, they even buy their boots on that premise, off with boots at the burns, simple ! Old 🦉 Owl , a pixie with her boots off for most of the way ! It’s so beautiful feeling the earth beneath your feet, but not in midge season !
Hey 👋 what do you think of this Bothy? I can’t believe it’s taken us this long to stay in one, I was honestly so blown away by how cute it was! Def better than staying in a tent 🤣 thanks for joining us again! Stick around for next week, we’ve taken a ferry into the rough North Sea ⛴ 🌊

Great video once again. I used to drink river water until one occasion when I found a dead sheep lying in it up stream.
What a great experience. Well done. The fire must have really made the stay special. I stayed in botheys for the first time last August (aged 67). Thought it was bothy not boffy....? ahha. another great vid guys!!!
Yeah it is. I just struggle to pronounce my “th”s as I have an inlaid tongue
It's a good idea to check upstream for a kilometre or so before drinking directly from rivers. Just to check for dead sheep etc...
Haguis, a late friend would parade it out on Robert Burns day, no one would eat it though except him
