    Doesn't look like we have Johnstone's water base matte varnish in the US, what would be your choice in the US? I'm loving this technique and will definitely be trying it.

    • @IvetaZiedina
      @IvetaZiedina  4 года назад

      Hi, I’m not too sure about specific brands in US, I know Polyvine sells in us and their matte decorators and heavy duty wood varnish are very good so can recommend them but they are quite pricy. You should look for something that says quick drying interior wood varnish on it in your local diy shops ☺️

    I Have been watching all your videos on doing this decoupage technique.....Can I just say I just went and got a bunch of napkins and the crackle glaze....I already have a bunch of modge podge :) My question is where are you getting all the MDF blanks to make all these items?? I have found the hearts and the square's but can not find the pencil blanks. Any help would be appreciated!!!! Thank you for your wonderful videos, what a great way to use napkins!!!!

    • @IvetaZiedina
      @IvetaZiedina  4 года назад

      Thank you! I get my flat shapes cut by my sister now, she has a machine so I have the bonus of that, I used to get them on ebay from people that do laser cutting. With the more intricate designs its a bit more difficult here in uk, the pencil blank I got was from an indian site called craftslane.com , they have a lot of beautiful mdf blanks, they also ship worldwide but you have to be careful, my first order from them was absolutely fine, second time I ordered I ended up having to pay £18 in import tax on a £35 order :/ So yeah, nowadays I just get what I can from the works and look for things that I can upcycle in charity shops. sorry, I only just realised that I dont know where you are in the world so it might be completely irrelevant to you :/

      @@IvetaZiedina well funny you should mention that. As I was tying my question to you I was thinking the same thing. My though was "she's got to be in the UK because of her accent but maybe she moved here but still has it 😁. I live on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. We are a long wayyyyy from each other. Never fails when I like something I can never get my hands on the product to make it......drats!!!!! I having been watching your videos so much I feel that I "can do this, no problem"......ha ha ha.....I'm quite optimistic wouldn't you say....we'll see how it goes once I find product to!!!!....thank you again, I appreciate your time 😉

    Hello I’ve just subscribed because you make such wonderful things! Could you tell me how many days it takes you to make something like this, including drying time?

    • @IvetaZiedina
      @IvetaZiedina  4 года назад

      Hello!
      It really depends on the project, something like this pencil holder can take about 2-3 days to make but it all depends on how much time I have as I am a full time mom of a 2,5 year old toddler. To be honest I think I am getting much quicker now that I have more experience and I also tend to work on 5 or so projects at a time so that I don’t just sit around waiting for the paint to dry

    Very nice. I have watched a few of your videos, but have one question. When you put on the modgepodge, are the napkins dry or wet?

    • @IvetaZiedina

      Hello! I usually apply my mod podge while the napkin is still wet :)

    • @IvetaZiedina

      not stupid at all! :) It's a plastic file pocket one of them that you use to store papers in binder folders images.app.goo.gl/s4zah1Vx9mZx1ugcA like this one :)

    Hi dainty gifts ..am mighty impressed with your detailed explanation yet so quick n precise ...here I am commenting again on your very neat project
    How much time do you give the gold wax to dry before varnishing it
    Secondly ..u did not varnish after applying peacock blue finnabair wax ..don’t we need to varnish it again

    • @IvetaZiedina
      @IvetaZiedina  4 года назад +1

      Thank you so much!
      to be honest whenever I varnish over the top of wax I don't really have a set time for it to dry, sometimes I leave it for a day and sometimes I varnish 5 minutes later, it doesn't smear around when I apply varnish so I just do it whenever I get the chance :)
      also, you dont necessarily have to varnish over wax as it is self sealing so I after I applied the blue wax there was no need for me to varnish on top :)

    Hope you are still answering questions of this video. I just found your channel, loving your work. One question with the napkin, did you remove the other layers of the napkin? Usually they are 3ply or did you use napkin with all the layers???

    • @IvetaZiedina
