What a great practice for all the reasons you mentioned. Kudos for prioritizing the time daily. I'm sure it helps that some sessions are shorter so you keep up the practice.

Yeah! I'm 43 and now there's no way to be in a championship, but I enjoy practicing like when I was 20. Keep going, is really healthy

I agree. When you are young one usually does martial arts to be able to take on and defeat an aggressive opponent, on the street or in sport, as you mature you do martial arts to defeat your own limitations, the opponent is now yourself, finally, when you age you do martial arts to fight the strongest opponent, one who you know will win eventually, but maybe not today, that is time and age.

Well said! I agree - the focus of our training changes as the opponent changes. Let's keep winning the day!

I have seen a lot of people give up on martial arts because they focus too much on the fighting aspect of it. They feel like if they can't beat up 20 lumberjacks all at once they are wasting their time. Maybe they just feel like they will never be good at it. This is the wrong way to look at martial arts.
I practice martial arts because I like the way it makes me feel. I am a older man and I don't have the mobility problems and other health problems that I see other people my age have. Not everything is about fighting.
