Right click on the file and select Properties. Then click the Change button and select Compressed (Zipped) Folders.

Tried on my laptop and it allows me to set a password but when I check on it it opens right up. No password required. I followed all the rules.

Yeah, BUT take a note that if you hold a folder with lots of files you'd like to browse, you have to enter that annoying password each time you open each of your zip's files, which is intolerably annoying. I wish there was an option to avoid it but it seems like Folder Lock is the only solution. Oh my...

This is not password protecting a folder, it puts a password on every file in the folder making it impossibly difficult to work with the folder when you want to access the files.

this is about the most ridiculous way to "Password Protect a folder" You're just password protecting a zip file. What happens when you want to add a file to this "folder" You can add it with no problem, but it's not password protected.
