Yes! As someone who tried SO hard to make Notion work, I’m trying to use the simplicity and ease of use SmartSuite offers to replicate the things about Notion I’ve loved (or aspired to love). Thanks for the three tiers of teaching on this, Layla.
This video is super helpful. The database is one of the solutions I've looked forward to creating. One of the reasons I moved to SmartSuite was the opportunity to blend a database I created in AirTable to keep track of my business relationships (people and interactions) with the notes I usually take when I engage with any of those people in my DayOne journaling app AND capture any follow-up I need to do in a way that I'll remember to actually do it! I only needed a few simple modifications-- 1) I pulled "To Process" out of the SmartDoc and added a Checklist field instead, 2) I added a "Who" field to link to the person's record in another App I created (by importing from AirTable) and 3) I added fields to link to any Zoom recordings and transcripts.
Very well done. Didn't realize I could create default meeting notes with h1,h2 the way you demonstrated! I was pondering all the ways I keep track of random information now in documents and spreadsheets. Being able to slice and dice with a real DB like SmartSuite has benefit of making data more readily usable. One thing I don't see in the Smartdocs is a way to indent or create multiple level bullet points. I think that would be helpful, since a lot of the mind-map/outliner style programs do allow this. Am I missing something (fairly new user here)?
I'm glad you found it inspiring! Check out this SmartSuite doc, this may be just what you were looking for. ☺️ help.smartsuite.com/en/articles/5117595-smartdoc-feature-formatting
