- This is a tribute to Jazzland and Six Flags New Orleans that was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. In this video, you will see the park as it was full of people looking to have fun as well as what it looks like now as it stands alone just rotting away.
Dang. Not only the park changed, but also how much camera quality has improved since 2000-05.

On a live TV commercial it probably would have looked a little crisper at like 480p. But VHS recordings converted to low resolution digital video on Windows XP probably degraded the quality some lol
Do you ever wonder like...who was the last person in that seat? On that ride? Did they expect to come back one day? Were they interrupted by someone asking them to leave due to the storm? Was that the last time that...they were happy?

I rode the swings last before we all walked out the park. Seems we walked forever to get to the car. All 4 of us happy. 2003
@@cb142 the swings has no seats and has its chains broken sadly now they took off the chairs in 2011 or 12
This is the best, yet saddest, clips of this park. I live in SATX and had plans to visit this park. It looked amazing and I wish we could have made it.
I feel sad for the young men and women that never had the experience to be with your loved ones ....with no phone, but living in the moment, memories will never be captured, they live in your heart
It died the same year as Astroworld in Houston. That was another amazing park that was saddly neglected then closed and wiped off the map.
6 flags was not neglected, the damage from Katerina was too significant. I believe they built something completely new to replace it?
@@A42yearoldARAB i meant Astroworld was neglected. Back in the day in the 70s it was the most beautiful paradise. I still remember all the red geraniums everywhere. Astroworld was magical and can never be duplicated again.

Ima buy this park and fix all the rides up and make new Attraction to it and more.
The Halloween events here were the best.
I DON'T live in new Orleans but to say a THEME PARK LIKE that brings tears to my eyes they should at least clean up all the trees and get rid of the alligators and rebuild the the food booths game booths the Roller coasters and the RIDES or replace them and bring new RIDES in I LOVE GOING to THEME PARKS if they ever rebuild it I hope so I would definitely go
the entire park was underwater for months, it's unsalvageable. everything was ruined. they wouldnt of abandoned it if it could be fixed.
If anyone tried to repair the six flags it would be good for the city even though it would cost a lot. I think the city could still be able to profit

I’ve never been to this amusement park. I was born in 2003 and my family and I were stationed in Okinawa Japan when Six Flags was destroyed.

What made me sad are those arcade systems that are damaged... Neo Geo, Nintendo Cabinet and Zaxxon Cabinet
Ditto, I’m in the arcade buisness and a avid collector. Some cool pieces there, but unfortunately all mostly junk to begin with as 8 feet of sea water for a month doesn’t do the best for these things. The orbit pinball laying in the ground is especially sad. Could have used all that stuff for my buisness

Probably never because its 1 in a bad area that if another hurricane comes by it would just flood again and 2 highly doubt any insurance company would insure it

I’ve heard rumors that they’re going to open it back up as JAZZLAND like it originally was but plans haven’t gone through yet as in there still waiting for permissions.
Hopefully they’ll open the park back up.
