Old School Libertad Roll Opening! Expert Advice from Matt Dinger of The Coin Show Podcast

  • Opening a sealed roll of 1983 Libertads? I couldn't ask for a better guy to walk me through this process than coin shop owner, numismatist, and podcaster, Matt Dinger. Matt educated me on so many topics as I took this roll from the Banco de Mexico and laid my eyes on coins that most likely hadn't been seen since they left the Mexican Mint. Did I make a mistake? What condition were the coins in? What will I do with them? You'll just have to watch and see! As always, thank you for watching! ~T the Silver Stacker

    This was awesome to see. Nice to see you open up that roll. I have an unwrapped roll of 1985's that I showed in a video years ago. I can live vicariously through you, because I'll keep mine wrapped up. lol So cool to see though. They look nice. If the boobs are smooth, it's a 67. lol

    Definitely an original roll. I have seen other Mexican bullion stuff at coin shows over here in Europe with very similar paper rolls. So, just give them a shot and send them to NGC or PCGS. Good luck ! 🤞Greets from GER, U.

    Were so excited see this
    Sir T,
    You, working out with the COIN dealer expert hand in hand choosing the right coin to send for Authenticity certification & grading submission on (TPG).
    I'll be glad to hear & watch if there will be graded lower than AU 55 considering that it was still in its actual bank roll, the most exciting part if there would be labeled CLEANED genuine not gradable or perhaps ENVIRONMENTALY DAMAGE coin that would really be a STUNNER news.
    Loved your Education, Acquisition & Entertainment at this video footage that you are sharing us YT Viewers & in all different parts of the WORLD, also looking forward to the final RESULT's in your future videos.

    You’re probably my top five RUclips silver and gold channel. I have two rolls of 22 and 23 Libertads but I found an LCS that had some hordes of 82 through 99. Unfortunately the 97 and 98 are gone but I bought a 99 for 60 bucks. Several of the 80s for 40 to 45 and some more earlier type 2 90s in the 40 range. He has a 1996 4 coin set from 1/2 ounce down to 1/20. Right now he won’t sell it because he looked online. He told me he will give me a price soon. Any advice?

    • @TtheSilverStacker
      @TtheSilverStacker  9 месяцев назад +3

      Very cool! Sounds like you made some great finds. My only advice is that Mexican coins seem to be going up the last few years with no end in sight. If you can get that set at a decent price, and your budget allows, I’d say go for it.

    great video T, two questions where did you get a whole roll from? and is the onza really a bullion coin? some say that the aurgument can be made for a round. the reason becuase it dosent have a monetary amount on the coin. eg: ike dollar has one dollar on the coin. your take please. thanks

    “It’s super shiny;” no, T - the correct numismatic terminology is brilliant or lustrous. The large dealers send most of these bullion LIBERTADS to the grading companies through the bulk submission process in large quantities, thereby reducing the cost per coin dramatically.
