This is my absolute favorite poly pistol I've owned in last 10 years. And I've own/ owned them all you name it! I would have never thought a Springfield would be the Best!
I bought this last week, and have put 1000 rounds through it so far. One thing I’ve noticed about the 20 rounder, is it actually holds 21. 22 is a bit tight, but 21 is good to go.
I honestly think it’s a bit snappy, or at least did in the first few hundred rounds. I shoot a lot of 40 and 45 as well, which is less snappy and more of a push in my opinion. As far as ability to stay on target, it gets back to zero very fast. I haven’t shot the m&p 2.0 so I can’t compare against that. It’s a pretty light pistol overall, with only 1.2 inches in width, so that may be a factor affecting the recoil impulse. I wanna say the recoil spring seems fairly light, which probably is the biggest factor affecting it. Either way it’s nothing that would deter me from continuing to shoot it regularly.
I thought I was just making a mistake or something when I discovered about the ammo capacity that was actually a nice little surprise use the speed reloader to access extra rounds
As always you do a excellent job on your reviews. Iam a big Springfield fan with a XD 9 SUB COMPACT and a XDS 45 ACP and a Hellcat Pro and my next will be a ECHELON thank you for doing a great job.
Thanks for a complete and factual review! Your presentation was the most helpful part of my purchase decision and I am now a new Echelon owner. Thanks, sootch00!
HS Produkt is overall a great firm and delivers great products. This really, and I mean REALLY is super smooth and smartly put together gun. As all of their weaponry, its ambidextrous, the engineering solutions are allways simple to use and simple to maintain. Very proud of this firm, not much good comes from Croatia
Not sure if it was mentioned and perhaps this is common knowledge, but wanted to note that the OEM optic mounting screws that came with your red dot (i.e. Trijicon RMR, Leupold DP, etc..) generally cannot be used on the Echelon because of the low cut of the VIS system and the OEM screws being too long. Shorter length screws are needed to mount an RMR, a DP, and perhaps others. You can either cut the OEM screws yourself or go to the Springfield Armory online store for the Echelon where they sell a packet of screws that are already properly cut for the Echelon system and accommodating the various brands of red dots
I handled one today in a local gun store. I was surprised at the light weight feel for such a full size firearm. The front sight seems to grab your eyes for target acquisition. One thing I do not like is the polymer recoil spring rod. They break. Busted one in my Beretta PX4 Storm a few years back. Beretta sent me a metal rod replacement. It was my CCW but no longer. I bought a S&W M&P 2.0 to replace it. Awesome job on the review!!
I’ve run 500+ rounds through mine with zero issues. Love it so far, especially with the extended 20 round mag. Now I check their site frequently to see if they’ve announced a compact yet!
Hello Sootch00. Yours was probably one of the first gun videos I watched on YT many moons ago. Quality has kept improving, though always great content, but technology has boosted the picture and sound. I'm intrigued with this new gun, thanks for the excellent review. I'm a fan of the XDM guns (HS Produkt) they have never let me down in many years of sports shooting. Love the slide. Not a fan of red dots, but managing to install one without having to remove the rear sight is a great idea. Warm regards from Malta, Europe. PS by the way, is Sarah Mac left eye dominant? Great shooting and great work.

I like the grip safety anyone packing near their package should like them as well lol I just got the Alpha Foxtrot S15 and it's the 1911/2011 takes Shield 15 round mags and even my X Macro 17 round mags!!! Love the Alpha Foxtrot S15!!!
Looking forward to this in the market
I let this gun vet itself until March 2024...after which I saw no reason not to go for it. 5 months and countless rounds in...I Love this pistol. Great home defense pistol and just a Hell of a lot of fun to run. Runs like a Champ
Great video..I need one of these for sure!
Thanks Phillip!
Dang I'm surprised Safariland already has a holster for this brand new pistol.
Springfield sent the gun out to the major holster makers to get the holster out before the gun comes out fully.
Tulster does too
