I built one of these several years back, and it's still one of my favorite high grades. Like you said, it holds up shockingly well for a kit that first came out 24 years ago, that along with the HG Z'Gok that came out shortly before.
Aquatic Zeon suit HGs are among the few I can feasibly say stand the test of time. My Gogg and Acguy still stand proud among more modern Zeon HGs like the Revive version of the Gyan, the Gouf Custom and the Kampfer
One of the legs of mine broke during transport, but nothing a bit of glue can't fix as that part is stationary. Nothing else otherwise, it's still living on
No cute version is needed to like it when Zeon's early MSs always blurred the line between cute plushie and menacing war machine. Though of course, straying more towards the former is always appreciable
@@mj2005gundam Well making Gabby is what bumped up the Gogg from neutral to positive on my scale. Same thing happened with an Alolan Raticate girl i made, which made me rather fond of the species when prior i just saw them as wretched vermin, like most do.
Sometimes you need something simple to go off of and that's exactly what this aquatic mobile suit can do. Even I knew that if any of the aquatic mobile suits that were from the anime ever got model kits they would only be used for what they're made for and not be so overly dramatic like a lot of the main character suits tend to be. In this case it absolutely works and plus it looks kind of cute with its aquatic brother at the end of this little video so another short solid review!
I mean when you know the History of the first Gundam season. You know that the Zeons Suits are never planned to be toys. So Okawara had alot more freedom and fun to design these mechs. :D
Aquatic Zeon MSs just have an unintentionally cute look to them, and I don't know why. Though sometimes, like you mentioned, simple is all that's needed to attract a buyer, and that's precisely what these kits are made for
Wrong unit. Though, I won't doubt if SEED gets another sequel that something will be hiding inside their version of the Gogg (since copying UC is all they do now)
