Man , those camera's are great, just like being in the aircraft there ! I live not far from KARR and the Joliet VOR is right by my house, lot of aircraft traffic goes over, on the way to ORD, MDW, KDPA and KARR, and other destinations, you have probably flown over a few times I bet. Great Videos, Thanks !
Nice end to the day scoring a Beemer. A little more comfortable than an econobox.😎 Great vid, Jim! Looking at the Midwest from the air never gets old for me. 👍🍻
G`day mate. In Australia I believe it's not a done thing to carry the planes maintance logs. Interesting to see you carrying them on board in the USA. Once again thanks for the upload.
Looked like a nice to fly maybe a little windy. I'M sure you were more comfortable in the drive back in the BMW than than an economy car. LOL Thanks as always for taking us with you Jim.
Great content as always, captain. Nice to see some single pilot action! Did you happen to be recording on N9U to and from Wisconsin? I was talking to you on Kansas City Center 135.05 on your way back to SUS. My heart about jumped out of my chest when I saw your callsign in my flight plan list!
The Cessna Caravan has always reminded me of my motorhome but it's a flying motorhome. I get the same impression seeing the Shorts Skyvan. The RV parks will have to add runways and enlarge the parking spaces.
Great video Captain. You pointed out the Missouri and Mississippi rivers so close to each other. In the spring do they over flow their banks and become one big river?
I had a clip out the right side of the airplane showing where the two rivers join. I should have left that in and we do get lots of flooding in the spring.
That was my plane I did all the body and prep it for paint I did 500 of those plains . Love that Job that plane was special to me 💓took care great on that plane 208 carvan .
What kind of mission profile do you fly with the Caravan? It's the most luxuriously appointed one I've ever seen. And it looks kinda funny without the cargo pod.
..all you need to do is just sit back and watch a few of his previous videos...flying all over the midwest in the workhorse Caravan..lots of power and payload..and can easily get in and out of small regional airports...thanks again for sharing Capt...
Good morning. I have a question about the caravan. It apparently has a shutoff for each wings fuel correct? If so you have to switch fuel and balance manually? While it has been a very long time since i have annualed or flown one (early 90's) I was just thinking of the 172 and 182 where if memory serves you could select both and as a rule not have to switch tanks. In the caravan you cannot do this? I was looking at the gauge shot and it showed a small imbalance and left off. I also caught you turning it off. I guess i am surprised by this. That said the caravan is one of the few GA airplanes i have never worked on or flown. Nor the Quest as well. I understand they are just big 182's. Thank you and be safe.
Thanks. I bought a Gopro 8 and replaced the Gopro 4 I was using for the forward interior cockpit view. It does a much better job with the windshield/cockpit lighting contrast.
I think if I was going to buy a plane, I would like a caravan. Decent speed, roomy, rough and grass runway capable, and with the pod underneath, all kinds of room for gear. Likely mine would look a little less “fancy”.😏
Hey Man, I'm The Ol' Guy Who Likes The Special Cap You Got When You Picked Up The New Plane For The Owner. Nice Caravan, Huh? Is That Factory Or Custom Interior?
After years of flying in St Louis, those towers southwest of CPS still make me uncomfortable. It's a bit disconcerting to be at eye level with the tops of them.
Caravan and BMW. Not a bad day!
Thanks for sharing
You do a great job of positioning your cameras for the best shots. Thanks for another great video.
Thanks Joe
Did a lot of touch-and-gos at KARR during my flight training quite a few years ago. Love that airport.
Nice airport and a nice FBO..
Listening to the radio it sounds like a popular place for a transition or two.
Frank Thomas excellent indeed. just outside the Chicago Bravo airspace, good services
Always a pleasure catching a ride with you, thanks.
Always happy to have you. Thanks for watching Richard.
I like to run through the tail numbers of my favorite aviation RUclipsrs in my head... 1BC, EYZ, 2SZ, 1TB, and 9U! Love your videos.
thanks Azure
1BC is based out of the Aurora airport
@@23aviatorguy Good point! It would be fun to see moonbeam and Kevin together.
Another bucket list airplane, the Cessna Caravan. Thanks for the ride, Captain.
Wow, that was crazy to watch! I learn to fly at Aurora back in 1988. Only farm land around the Airport. Thanks for the memories!
It's good to see Aurora from a different perspective. Love the videos and keep smiling
Love the Caravan! One of my favorites to fly!
I always love the Caravan videos. Great plane made by Cessna. Thanks for sharing on RUclips.
Thanks. I only have good things to say about the Caravan.
Would love to see a full tour and start up of the Caravan! Thanks Capt!
...always good to see some smiling captmoonbeam videos...thanks for sharing....and for always keeping the blue side up...best wishes...
Thanks LR
Nice to see you flying the Caravan. So used to the Citation... now the other airplanes. Love it. Thanks for taking the time to make the videos.
Beautiful plane and love the NXi avionics.
From a prop rocket to a ground rocket! I don’t know why but just hearing your voice in the narration makes me calm and less stressed 😃
I love the Caravan Videos the best.

Great vid, Jim! Looking at the Midwest from the air never gets old for me. 👍🍻
Thanks Smitty.
Great video. We always enjoy your videos.
I appreciate that.
Awesome video Capt. Moonbeam!
Loved the new editing and background music! Thank you for your great videos!
Looking very nice. Fly safe and get back home safely.
Good to see you back in the air. How your getting plenty of air.
St. Louis looks different from the TWA days.
Looked like a beautiful day to fly, and a nice drive back.
It was.
Great airmanship and super awesome ATC convo Capt! The only upside during the pandemic is; the upgrades have been phenomenal!
Thanks Adam. You've got a good point about the upgrades.
What a great looking Aircraft!
So cool seeing a pilot from Stl! I'm from about 45 minutes to the east of downtown.
Beautiful day for flying. Thanks for the ride!
Great video Jim. So glad you are back flying. I missed your videos !! Keep them coming please 👍👍👌👌
Great Video. Stay healthy and safe
That's a sharp looking plane
glad to see you flying again.
G`day mate. In Australia I believe it's not a done thing to carry the planes maintance logs. Interesting to see you carrying them on board in the USA. Once again thanks for the upload.
Great video, the music really makes it 👍 take care
Thanks Chris.
Dang ARR is my home airport! Wish I could've been there to see you come in and say hi!
That is one sweet Caravan !
Thanks Joyce.
You're at 310 pilots home field in Aurora IL. Just got his new paint job finished just recently.
You can here him talking to atc around the 4 min mark.
Wonderful video! What a fun day! Safe travels!!!
Thanks Amy.
Nice video, good to see you back at job!!!
thanks.
Looked like a nice to fly maybe a little windy. I'M sure you were more comfortable in the drive back in the BMW than than an economy car. LOL Thanks as always for taking us with you Jim.
Always rather liked the caravan - makes a change for you Jim!
BMW eh - poor fella, having to slum it LOL
thx captain ii will love to watch a complete start with explication of the caravan engine
Looking out the windows it almost looked like you were in a simulator. Great visibility.
BMW way to go my man ! i have 3 Beemer motorcycles love em ! , btw you greased both those landings as usual
thanks.. It was a nice ride.
Great Video as usual,
Great content as always, captain. Nice to see some single pilot action! Did you happen to be recording on N9U to and from Wisconsin? I was talking to you on Kansas City Center 135.05 on your way back to SUS. My heart about jumped out of my chest when I saw your callsign in my flight plan list!
Have you ever made a detailed video of the starting procedure of starting the engine?
I use to work at JA, they do just about everything at their facility. They also have some of the best cookies inside of the FBO.
Always great content, Thank you, Capt.
You make it look so easy. 😄
Do love the Caravan Jim, I like the jets but I think VFR in the Caravan over lovely countryside is a nicer flying experience.
Unless weather is an issue it's a fun ride.
Welcome again to the Chicago-area!
The Cessna Caravan has always reminded me of my motorhome but it's a flying motorhome. I get the same impression seeing the Shorts Skyvan. The RV parks will have to add runways and enlarge the parking spaces.
The caravan is still a fabulous plane.
Great video Captain. You pointed out the Missouri and Mississippi rivers so close to each other. In the spring do they over flow their banks and become one big river?
I had a clip out the right side of the airplane showing where the two rivers join. I should have left that in and we do get lots of flooding in the spring.
Good vid Captain.
Nicely appointed plane...
Love your C208 vids!
Love the Caravan, solid airplane.
Love seeing you fly maybe one of these daya ill go for ride in one dosent help that I hate heights
Keep up the good work capt!
Will do. Thanks Nick.
the wind must have been calm, I see you landed on 12 right and departed on 30 left. I enjoy your videos.
Thanks Eric. Tower changed runways due to wind.
Cartridge, so gracefull.
It does require grace when handling.
That is a beautiful caravan. Watched a video of a TBM s annual.. it cost $90,000. Is the caravan about same? Never knew.
Ours was much cheaper. Probably helps that the Caravan is unpressurized and everything easy to get to.
That was my plane I did all the body and prep it for paint I did 500 of those plains . Love that Job that plane was special to me 💓took care great on that plane 208 carvan .
Pod less 208b
How much did the entire plane cost because that is a beautiful interior. Also how much per hour is that
2.5 mil
I like nice tables.😎 glad you got to go flying again and a BMW how lucky, you better buy a lotto.
With everything picking up I the the upgrades will slack off.
Short and sweet. Delightful.
👌👍
Man that's a dream plane right there
Hi Jim🙋♂️
Is always nice seeing you,, flying alone now. Where is Mike😊 stay safe!!!
I think he only flies with a co-pilot where legally required.
@@rogerd777 I believe so- is nice watching them both flying--

Nice plane sir!
I was expecting to see 31Pilot any second and hear his music as you taxied. 😄
We could have done an impromptu colaboration.
Saw your plane a few times last year in STL area!
Party time! Excellent!
I am always cautious and nervous after an aircraft has been in service for anything. I am usually super alert.
Hello Capt, do you have a complete startup for the Caravan? Thanks!
STL Departure couldn't give you a left turn to SPI. Instead it was a right to Lambert then north?
He's look like Walter white of the serie Breaking Bad. Great video. I love the Cessna caravan 💙
Thanks Johnny. It's one of my favorite airplanes.
Thanks Jim 😉

to bad you couldn't have gotten a ride from 310pilot. would have been a cool colab!
That would have been a lot of fun.
K bellesa es bolar ser piloto aviador 👍
Did you get to meet up with 310 Pilot at Aurora??
What, no BMW review on the drive home? That would have been nice!!
For a second I thought Greg was behind you, but then I realized Zero Tango Mike is not Zero Gulf Mike.
The cockpit seems to be more open than in the citation, at least with this camera angle. Which do you prefer for comfort?
the Caravan cockpit is roomier.
Too bad that you couldn't see 310 Pilot while at Aurora...
Was thinking the same thing!
Same here, maybe when you go back to pick up the plane.
You could hear 310 pilot flying to Lafayette around the 4 min mark...
Maybe he was able to chat with Kevin or Jamie on his way into Aurora while they were working.
@@erict5234 That sounded like 41BC to me.
The view in the take off roll looks like a sim! Do you have new camera set up? Colours look awesome 👌🏻👍🏻
Thanks. I bought a Gopro 8 and replaced the Gopro 4 I was using for the forward interior cockpit view. It does a much better job with the windshield/cockpit lighting contrast.
captmoonbeam certainly does! I better get saving! Have a good weekend.
Is that a Cessna service Center for the annual?
I think if I was going to buy a plane, I would like a caravan. Decent speed, roomy, rough and grass runway capable, and with the pod underneath, all kinds of room for gear. Likely mine would look a little less “fancy”.😏
Beech 1300
Why did you drive back instead of getting a ride to midway and catching southwest? Is the boss cheap or did you not want to fool with airlining?
I’d take the 5-hour drive, probably faster than an airline.
Haven't flown that in awhile.
I've flown a few trips in it but, they were just short trips to the lake.
What was your reason for 4 mi straight request?
I wonder how much that annual is going to cost?
Hey Man, I'm The Ol' Guy Who Likes The Special Cap You Got When You Picked Up The New Plane For The Owner. Nice Caravan, Huh? Is That Factory Or Custom Interior?
Thanks. I left the factory with no interior and the two crew seats. Everything you see in the video was added by the interior shop.
After years of flying in St Louis, those towers southwest of CPS still make me uncomfortable. It's a bit disconcerting to be at eye level with the tops of them.
I feel the same way about them.
..OKC placed most of their tall TV towers in a cluster as well...ouch...
What were those small bodies of water at 1:02?
Yes
For these flights do you normally fly vfr or ifr ?
I go Ifr.
Oooh, you know 310Pilot?
Unfortunately, I've never met him.
