As an Esthetician student I loved this video. It helps hearing your feedback on massage and this facial in general 👌. I'm trying to figure our my technique still and excited to nail it one day.
This looks awesome. Sadly the last time I had a facial I explained to the aesthetician beforehand that I was autistic and that as a result I have a restricted diet due to my many sensory issues with food. But the during my facial, she kept suggesting changing my diet, giving up dairy, etc. And even though I then explained again that those weren’t options for me, she wouldn’t stop. And I just wanted to cry. Afterwards I felt like I’d just paid to receive ableist abuse for an hour.
That is terrible! You poor thing.
How in the world is that abuse, just don’t do what she suggested?
I hope you gave them this feedback afterwards. They need to hear this

@@EmiliaB87 it’s ableist abuse (whether it was intended as such or not), especially since I both beforehand and during the session explained myself ad yet she kept doing it. Mind you, having to ask her to respect my disability, was also quite difficult for me in itself, as confronting people is extremely difficult for me. Treating a disabled person as if their disability isn’t real, that if only I try harder I could overcome it is an ableist action. It’s basically like telling a wheelchair user that if they only try harder they would be able to walk or a deaf person that if they put in the work they’d be able to hear. And since I was paying for this session on some level I was paying for someone to be ableist to me.
This is the energy I need to wake me up girl. Love it.
I missed having this type of facial massage, only in Asia and unfortunately in Australia, when you have a facial paid so much money for so little service.
I think the best thing a professional can do before starting this treatments is to tell you to resist the temptation to talk, and focus on your breathing an calming your thoughts. It takes a great treatment like this from a physical one to a mind, body an soul experience. Its a learning experience for me because I am chatty and have nervous energy so quieting myself is revealing to me. Plus I think the treatment is more effective if your muscles aren't tense.

Also, Cassie, can you make a video on that one woman on Instagram who vigorously massages her face? My cousin tried her massage for a week and her face was so sore and bruised, she had to stop. Maybe my cousin might have done something wrong but her massages look very.....rough and not precise?? I would like to know more about it.

also, I love this! but, I do wonder if you got the best experience possible because of who you are and the cameras. maybe in these types of videos have someone in your team go in on a different day with no association to you and then include an interview with them about their experience in the video! also, asking subscribers. just to get a balanced perspective bc I know id be on my a game if I knew you were coming in to report on something

The thing I don’t get about facial massage is that everyone always says to be super gentle when applying skincare to not be aggressive and tug else it creates fine lines? Aren’t wrinkles caused by the muscles in your face getting used so much over time? Glad you had a great experience tho plus that sunscreen was a nice touch at the end 👍🏻
I would totally do this. However, when I get facials I don’t want to talk I just want to relax and enjoy my facial! And there is one only 3 hours from my house. So I am totally thinking of making this a girls trip with some friends!

I also was doing exercises for my chin and jawline cause of the influx of products that kept coming out and still do as well as the exercises. I will be honest, the general look of the place looks like copies of the bougie salons I went to in south east asian hotels and malls. The facial + neck manual massage is not new either. If anything, they started to decrease or change when they got criticized for being ineffective, so I am a little annoyed that it came to America and people act like it's innovative.
It's not really that, it's just something we don't really have here so people are excited about it lol.
I mean some people will think it's a new concept but for a lot of us it's just an exciting thing we finally have access to.
True, also I don’t care what people say about it being ineffective, there isn’t enough research on either end (like there aren’t scientific studies), but from my own personal experience facial massages do work and help your face, as well as toning facial muscles, these are very real things that do work to shape your face and make it look nicer and lifted

Exactly. I grew up having this massage every month as part of my beautician visits since I was a teenager (except the balls and gua sha). It`s not new at all, only someone made a brand of the massage and set it up in a modern looking salon. The massage is amazing, I`ve got nothing to say against it. Just that this brand is using an old beauty treatment and selling as new.
I am not a touchy person since my last ex even hugs and anything I’m scared of. You have such beautiful face and eyes you’re a skin beauty fairy for real inside n out with the work you do

I’d love to try this since i pretty much checked all the boxes of needing relaxation, loving a face massage and having a tense jaw, etc but unfortunately i don’t think there’s anything like this near me. I’m around the Chicagoland area and i could only find a Face Gym on the very west and very east coast :( next time I’m in California tho, for sure!
