I can emphasize. I have fibromyalgia, complex-ptsd, arthritis,IBS and degenerative disc disease. A few years ago I lost 80 lbs on keto and now I've gained 50 of them back. I'm so exhausted all the time now that it's really difficult. I get a lot of acid reflux which isn't helping either, and like you said, it takes days to recover when you try. On another note, I love your mug.
It could have been me doing this video! Gained exactly 20 lbs, can't wear my clothes, the same diet I lost weight on kills me now. I tried getting back on the treadmill slowly, and it's knocked me down even worse the last week. Screws up my bo, hr, and all my ME/CFS symptoms. And my body NEEDS carbs or I feel nauseated. But sugar (even fruits) make my body hurt, gluten affects me, and dairy. This is a crazy illness!
I did keto before I ended up with full blown fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome and I lost 10 pounds and felt ok but then after getting fibromyalgia and all the other issues I swear my food intolerances change by the day so I started just eating a healthy volume of food but eating what my body is wanting as long as it’s healthy like some day I’ll eat bread and some fruit and the next I might eat mostly chicken eggs and tuna. I try to stay low sugar and lower carb. It seems to do best for me. If I do that i maintain weight with zero gain. If i fast from 6:30pm to 7am or after I feel better and lose weight. Thats what I started back on and I walk my dogs 5 days a week but really want to add exercise but my mcas really makes that difficult because I get pots symptoms and nausea and dizziness with anything other than walking but about to get a special shot to hopefully help the mcas to at least do Pilates. I think for me eating low volume of what my body wants and walking and good sleep helps me the best. If you can tolerate probiotics they seem to help maintain weight. If your vitamin d or b12 is low it can actually cause weight gain so getting those numbers up always help me lose weight like 5 or more pounds.
I'm late, but... I have never understood why there are people who think that you can't eat grains to lose weight, or dairy products, or some food group. Keep eating your whole grains but measure the quantities, just that. Not snacking on high-calorie things between meals helps (that's where a piece of fruit or a couple of slices of fat-free ham helps), and eliminating refined sugars. But please don't give up your whole grains or legumes.
I was diagnosed with all of that and arthritis recently by my rheumatologist. It’s hard to lose weight.ur in pain all the time and tired my husband left me and im now depressed.
