I love how when we see concept art for how armor should’ve been, they go with the cheesiest and cheapest and most bland, looking armor for some seasons and expansions
@@TheAnt235 yeah but it’s just sad to see because it kinda feels like being robbed of good art in game, and anyone else think the humanoid human faced characters could possibly be the nine? Given it’s got a face of a human and it’s covered in light and dark and the nine do need both in order to become human makes me wonder 🤔
Destiny as a whole ended up being so much worse than what it was originally meant to be. The entire story was different and honestly so much better, instead we basically got a cringe marvel story. The traveller was intended to be the antagonist during development. They remade the game a few times before release
a lot of these concept arts for the alien looking things remind me of recent art for magic the gathering. more specificaly the enemy faction of phyrexians and somewhat or eldrazi as well
I forgot who said this but when destiny was being created, one of the creators said that they wanted a sci-fi space fantasy style game, and the concept really shows this as well. Pls note that this is not 100% but I do remember SOMEONE said thisn
This shows the "What IF" directions Destiny could have went. They could show up in the future of the expanded Destiny universe, yet these feel more like early concepts that were eventually scrapped.
Destiny has so much potential with the lore and everything this game can be so much more, I am waiting for it with a hot cup of tea just hope it doesn’t get cold😂..
@@DioStandProud we got double dipped reskin psions, reskinned wraiths, the grim, and double dipped subjugators. We essentially got 2 enemies for the price of 6. Still think not using those concepts for nokris and xol was a waste of amazing character design. Although nokris' chosen design made sense with the necromancer theme, it would have been great for another hive chracter or even someone new down the line.
Don’t forget the Vex were legitimately supposed to be the primary antagonists the entire pyramid ships were clearly designed to be vex like Also the black garden ya know the heart of the darkness that they protect and where ya kind also meet the witness for the first time? A place where only they and guardians can enter also not to mention the vex purpose is to consume/convert any thing into there vision I will never understand why bungie decided to make the darkness enemies universal rather than oh idk the ships that were clearly designed to be the Vex? Would’ve made a lot more sense and the organics in the art work to be the true vex species before their transformation
They gotta make a destiny 3 just to add all the stuff they forgot to add in cause that looks incredible.if the the enemy race we fought were more variable and personallized and the boss werent just copypasted minus certian raid bosses i geuss
Those two humanoid beings would have been awesome to see in the game. Would love for a villain to have that design. Same with Nokris and Xol design. Man what we got was garbage.
Character explorations are just chatacter exploratuons. It's like when you're doodling. It's not official, they're just loose ideas. Therefore you can't make the assumption that they were meant for something specific. Their art director could've just asked as a possibility and that idea only lasted a week and was thrown away. He's able to post it because the art was useless/insignificant. There's probably hundreds more of those pieces.
Bungie should have never left Microsoft. As much as MS also does shit like laying off troves of people, they tend to not cancel tons of projects from their flagship studios, and Bungie got pretty much free reign to do whatever they wanted as long as it was Halo, which was only a requirement because of a contract that was expiring anyway. Sony and Activision destroyed one of the best studios ever to grace the gaming industry. It's a serious shame.
Looking at this art work make me wish “the witness” was just a being using darkness and the darkness is actually still out there. The one who created the veil and the traveler. At the end of D2 the real Villain drop (epic cutscene) and cast darkness over sol!
To this day I still think the Witness is the fucking dumbest looking end of game villain ever made. It looks stupid and it almost looks like they tried to make it cute? It’s infuriation.
Nokris is and will always likely be the most underutilized character in destiny history
Nah the xol is imo
I love how when we see concept art for how armor should’ve been, they go with the cheesiest and cheapest and most bland, looking armor for some seasons and expansions
Cheaper to make
That Clovis Bray armor set would have been welcome Bungie
Instead we will get lump rounded titan shoulders and a bath robe for warlocks again
Not even gonna lie the concept art looks better than what we actually got 🤦♂️
The concept art for games always look amazing but there are limitations and too much money to actually implement in game.
Every game has concept art that is better than what you actually get.

Too bad Bungie decided to make the enemies look PG Disney like compared to these amazing concepts
This makes me wonder how many light races are there
somebody make a game with all of the destiny concepts art please.
The Piotr Jablonski stuff is so good, and would have loved to have seen it in game.
This could’ve been the best gaming franchise of all time.
It’s already the best looter shooter franchise it’s been out for ten years and it’s highs are unbeaten
No one wants another extraction shooter, but many of us want mote D2 to explore.
Honestly at this point there isn’t even a focus on destiny by bungie it’s mainly on marathon but with little fruit to yield from it

They should revisit these old designs and make them happen. New enemy types, new side plots, weapons we never got and so on
why is concept art almost always better than what they end going with

If we get a destiny 3 it would have to be a prequel to D1. Continuing the story from D2 would not just feel strange but also be way more limiting.

Giving Rasputin a GLAdos face is much better than a holographic blob
