The girl reminds me of myself as a child, listening quietly and not moving so I don't get sent to bed and miss out on the grown up's conversation...😅
"Oh, I'll take that one..." I love that line lol. Thanks for the breakdown Brandon
I loved this episode. There is one thing I think you misinterpreted. You said that Melich’s wife was asking for permission to speak. She wasn’t asking for permission. She was trying to hush him because he had just asked, “weren’t you afraid it would be dangerous?“ on their journey.
There is so much beauty throughout this scene. It is one of my favorites!!
I love the way the wive speaks. She rolls her 'r's so effortlessly. Beautiful acting from her.
Love your breakdown of the Good Samaritan story. I really enjoyed the way they told it from the robbers' perspective and how Jesus the Good Shepard showed compassion and called him back to the fold.
Jesus helped Melech because he was repentant. He had compassion for the Jew he robbed. It was also a demonstration to John and James to humanize the Samaritans.
The way the writers chose to tell this parable was very very clever. I loved it! It was such a bright and touching portion of the episode.
It’s beautiful that The Chosen created this story. It has never been done in this way before. Beautiful.
Thank you Brandon, for the call to invitation you gave toward the end!
This is such a well done & unique telling of this well known Bible story! ❤
Notice ...THE MOVEMENT OF THE HAIR LIKE BREEZE BLOWING THROUGH when he does healing like this......you know he's healing, chk when he held Barnaby after healing Shula
I have to say, I did not think of that until Brandon just said it. Love that thought. ❤
I've been watching The Chosen every week from start to end of Season 3, & now Season 4. Since 2021. It has changed me, Jesus has changed me. 🙏🙏🙏❤️ I know more definitely now that he Loves me despite my failings.
I love this episode!❤
This actor they picked, he cracked me up, bc to me he looks like Bob Dylan did when he was younger 😂😂 Also, Brandon, I really appreciate that you keep showing maps. Jerusalem is a higher altitude, and "going up to Jerusalem" is used no matter what altitude you come from, or even if you travel south to get to it. The phrase is used also for the spiritual meaning, with respect for where The LORD's Temple was, where His Presence was, where He puts His Name, where people went/go to worship.
I love the camera cuts to Mary Magdalen a few times as Jesus hugs the man (and heals him), like He hugged Mary for her healing. 🥰
When you say "the actor they picked...looks like Bob Dylan," are you referring to "Big James"? Abe? Or the actor who plays Melech? Because when I first saw this episode, my first inclination was that the man portraying Melech looked like Donnie Wahlberg.
@kyrilascully7828 oh, sorry for not being clear. I meant Melech. I looked up Donnie Wahlberg and he does look like him.
Hello Brandon watching again because well. I cant get enough of your deep dives and The Chosen 😊
I really enjoy learning new stuff from you. I think that the humor of Photina's husband is hysterical, actually. I doubt the rooms were drafty or that even HE believed one was haunted or that he was dying, lol.He was just ribbing them all with his dry sense of humor. Even Jesus was laughing.
It's called Caliche Rock from my area in New Mexico.
22:11 😭 ... calling back to Episode 4, Season 1, then hearing Simon affirm Melech like this... 😂🎉👏☝️
Well done, I forgot how much I liked that scene.
I have learned a lot from watching your channel. Thank you!
If you think about it, they would have all been speaking in the vernacular and the slang of the day. If they did that in this series, we wouldn't understand them. It would be in Aramaic or Hebrew and totally unintelligible to anyone who doesn't speak those languages. People forget that the English language had not been invented yet in the first century. So it's quite alright if they use modern vernacular to express first century vernacular.
Thank you for your fascinating and educational videos. I love them!
19:06 😢 I started tearing up from that moment -- a kudos 👏 💐 to the creative twist, a treasured Easter egg 🎉
Great breakdown! I always enjoy your take on the episodes. Thank you for sharing the fruits of your labor.
Love how the next morning Jesus wakes up and remarks about somebody having a good morning and the disciples are like you can heal him without even being there? And then they have the scene and he and his wife and child all rejoice over what God has done for him. If he had just gone to sleep out there with his wife and child and nothing would’ve happened it would have been anti-climatic the way they wrote it, it was beautiful.
I like the emotion Malik uses here when he's talking about it cause he's like oh crud I don't want to talk about this but I'm having to. it's a dreaded conversation but with real remorse.
I love how they did this! Love your deep dive!
We all could be more compassionate to those we come across day to day. It could open the door to talk about Jesus.
I wonder next time, if you could also try the sat view of google earth to really demonstrate how hilly the terrain is we hear of :)
Sure I’ll pull up my topographical map next time as well.
I enjoyed this tonight and I needed it to remind me of the meaning behind it. Thank you Brandon 🙏
Great video. Thank you for sharing this information. I always enjoy your videos.
I love season 2 Eps 1, one of my favorites
I love how Malich unburdens his heart to Jesus.
Love this episode.
I think the same as what the guy said. Why would Jesus help me. The more I read bible and watch your deep dives brings me to the point I'm worth Jesus forgiveness.
Just proud of there hard work I think
Then they became airigant
Hello Brandon was at doctor appointment 😊
Great deep dive.
Fotima's husband lives and goes to Synagogue!
I thought that the wife cleared her throat as a warning to her husband as he was getting close to the subject of robbing travelers, which I think was embarrassing for her family. She basically changed the subject so they wouldn't be talking about attacking people.
That's whatI thought, originally. Now I'm beginning to assume it could be a mixture of the two
I like the new big James. Better actor
Hello Brandon
Cool
Haha Andrew .. I might be.
I thought Melech’s wife cleared her throat to remind him not to talk about violence in front of the lil girl. Cause, Melchior said, “Didn’t you think it might be dangerous?”
I agree; that's how I 1st saw it and now. I don't think it's requesting permission from her husband.
I'm sure glad in further episodes, they lengthened Jesus tunic!
“Melech”, not what autocorrect turned the name into!
I was hoping you'd also mention how instead of having Jesus say all of John 4:34-38 (where after He says His food was to do the Father's will then proceeds to talk about laboring in fields, sowing, and harvesting, and how white the fields of the Samaritans were for harvest) back in Episode 8, Season 1, the show instead "illustrates" (pictures / portrays / plays...out) it throughout Epusode 1, Season 2, especially with this arc.
Typographically Jeruselum is highest?
is everything you see humorous, you laugh at everything
It's not a bad thing to see the humor in things that have good humor. I find myself laughing along with Brandon at all the same spots. Some people are more serious. We're all different and that's a good thing.
None of us are deserving
This house is haunted
"Jesus enters the chat."
Jesus might of healed her husband.
The little girl looks bored kids attention span is short
