awesome video Dan it was so cool to see all the underwater footage of the fish. Definitely need to get out here. The water is so blue and beautiful fish.
I watch Lots (too many) videos on RUclips. Yours are by far my favorite! Such beautiful scenery and fish. They literally make me feel better when I watch them. Thanks a lot Dan. 👍👍🎣
It's so fun to watch you fish waters I use all the time. I've found I get good use from my 7ft 3wt on the Fall as casting out far is rarely needed. I saw a gal catch her first fish ever up there a few weeks ago. So fun.
Thank you John - I had a little fun experimenting with that battling the fish...afterwards I thought...why would I risk doing that (one handed) on a trophy fish! Lol Glad it worked out :))
I have flyfished for 30 years but I started Tightline (Euro) nymphimg two years ago. It single handedly has changed fishing for me for ever. I have caught not only more trout but the biggest trout in my life with this method. It has given me confidence, and that has lead me into other methods (Stillwater, Streamers, dry's etc.) of fly fishing. I continue to learn more and more to become well rounded but, "Euro nymphing" was the door that opened it all for me. Great video, I have had the Fall & Metoleous on my radar for about a year now. Hoping to get up there end of October. Gotta love those Redbands!
Fished there last summer, my flies barely got acknowledged by the hoard of fish by the bridge haha! Excellent video and amazing quality, I can't wait to go back and try my luck again!
I have fished here many times. There are fish a hell of a lot larger then 20 inches in there. It's the kinda place you work all day for 1 or 2 takes if your good......
Great job Dan! I hope I can have a little bit of luck when I head there later this week. I've got pink streamers to strip in, pheasant tail nymphs to drift, plenty of dries , hoping for a few tight lines!! Keep up the good fishing
Awesome Carl! Don't be afraid to switch things up while fishing. You should get into some good top-water action later this week and the weather change and possible cloud cover will certainly help your chances. Good luck on the trip!
You were right. I hooked into 2 of these bad boys. Both on the dry. I got a couple at the hatchery too but that kind of felt like cheating. The big boys all lined up in the feeding lanes at "that one spot" was amazing to see. Thanks for the tip. This river is now on my annual visit list.
I always associated euro nymphing rods with fast water, and plan to get one soon. I guess I'll have go reevaluate my preconceptions! Great underwater video! This type of spring fed clear water/slow flow, sight type fishing is intimidating to me. I'm learning alot from your videos, Dan, really appreciate it!
Dude, the music selection durting the battle with your second fish was perfect! I'm heading there for 4 days at end of Aug. Did you stay at Fall River campground? Yes, I will be bringing my Euro rod! Fish on!
Thanks Joe - I had fun with that for sure, nothing like a little dramatic music to enhance the experience...so much fun to recreate these trips into video stories. Nice! I stayed in Bend and drove in (used up my Hilton points...Lol). Good luck and FISH-ON!!
great video dan, beautiful scenery this video has confirmed my move to oregon. also your hat is great where did you buy it ? and what is the style name?
I'm trying to find a proper phone camera mount to document my fishing experiences. Do you use a phone camera? If so, what chest harness phone mount did you use?
You know what was interesting - a fellow fly fisher gave me the tip on the squirmy wormy (which I didn't have) so I tied on my pink micro chenille San Juan worm and then BAM! FISH-ON!!!
Dan, I’m poking around the Fall today. Any suggestions on a good starting point? Only here for a couple of days from Western Wa. So want to make the best of it! Thanks for putting out the content.
Hi Dan. Love your videos, and your enthusiasm. However, I must respectfully disagree with your doing the underwater video while fighting that last fish. The extra time it took to fight the fish one-handed undoubtedly added to the stress placed on the fish. Like I said, love and respect your videos. Just don't think that's the right approach on this one. Having said all that, he was quite the tank!
Thank you for your kind words and for approaching this with respect - I do appreciate that! I will most definitely take that into consideration - much appreciated. Cheers!
I just read the proposed initiative - scary stuff for anyone who enjoys the outdoors and fishing. I think collectively Oregonians can rally together to vote this down next year. Be well and be kind - cheers and FISH-ON!!

Ah, the Fall. "Look at all the logs here....wait, they're moving!!!!!"
I know, right!?! Crazy large fish in the Fall!

Very kind to say Charlie - thank you, I am humbled!

Thanks for taking the time to watch - I do appreciate it!
Monster. Looks like a great river to explore!
Tough fishery for sure - but so worth it!
Lived there at the hatchery and learned to fly fish right in front of the hatchery, back in the 90's, used to pull dinner almost every time I fished.
Woooooow a ten souboj pod vodou,ufffff very,very,very nice video a samozřejmě i nice Fish.😍😍😍🌟🌟🌟👏👏👏😁😁😁
Beautiful weather, river and fish. Love that area!
The best!

@@FlyFishDan will do Dan!! Looking for the next video!
Dan, that was a submarine!! good to see you euro nymphing. you should try it on the Yak next time.
Thank you! I know right! Such a TANK...so glad I pulled up the wader straps and pulled out the Euro rod...so effective!
Dan you get an A for effort on this one, you the man.
Thanks! :))
this is amazing. Gotta love those hatchery trout though so lazy not to even swim away from a fish fighting for its life
I know right? His buddies where just saying...'meh'...he'll be back soon I guess...Lol! Thanks for watching James!

That is awesome Matthew - so glad you found these tips helpful and you got into some fish! Well done! Cheers and FISH-ON!!

Thanks William - my pleasure! I appreciate you being a part of my channel!
I Like those Lamson Liquid reels, Nice rainbow!
Thanks! Great reel for sure - thanks for watching! Cheers!

Hi Dan - I have fished the Fall twice now. Nibbles but no bites yet. They love to just look at your nymph float by!
So true - it’s a tough fishery for sure. Keep at it - you’ll get one in the net.
great video dan, beautiful scenery this video has confirmed my move to oregon. also your hat is great where did you buy it ? and what is the style name?
Thanks! I bought my hat at the Western State Fair a number of years ago...I'll a have to look and report back
I'm trying to find a proper phone camera mount to document my fishing experiences. Do you use a phone camera? If so, what chest harness phone mount did you use?
I fabricated my own using a GoPro chest mount with the top of a iPhone tripod mount
So was that squirmy wormy or micro chenille? Inquiring minds gotta know! 😃
You know what was interesting - a fellow fly fisher gave me the tip on the squirmy wormy (which I didn't have) so I tied on my pink micro chenille San Juan worm and then BAM! FISH-ON!!!
Brilliant 🤘
Thank you John!
Nice fish
Thanks!
So odd watching fishing videos on RUclips and hearing someone talk about my home town lol.
It is crazy for sure - thanks for watching!
Shouldn't be that surprising when your home town is anywhere in central Oregon though
Man, I had a campsite booked up there last month, but we had to cancel cause the AQI was 400. Hopefully next summer
Been a tough year for sure - definitely worth planning the next trip!
Dan, I’m poking around the Fall today. Any suggestions on a good starting point? Only here for a couple of days from Western Wa. So want to make the best of it! Thanks for putting out the content.
I would start at the hatchery, the next stop would be the campground up river. Great fishing in both sections. I hope you get into some fish!

STOCKED
YES
I pulled up to the Fall and immediately left. Catching brooders next to 20 other anglers is not my cup of tea. Fished the deschutes instead
That can be a big turn off for sure!
@@FlyFishDan I will say. That was a pretty native, didn't even know they had them in there. I thought they were all stockers.
Enjoy it while you can Oregon.

You guys get what you deserve for keeping that witch in office.
