My first thought was “oh nooo! Pam and Jim took up paintball. Those crazy kids!”
Me, too! I could not imagine!
Me too I thought they started playing paint ball with her sister and brother in law lol
Not this year, maybe next year for the paintball.
I also thoughjt that. Stealth target practice.
Nice to have someone knowledgeable about the products they sell he is very helpful.
What an amazing store.. Kindness in bucket loads to the service assistant. He was amazing and informative.. Kindness his way.. Lochness Scottish Highlands..
I love my Country Living Mill
I bought it back in 1999.
I have gone through a set of blades.
Easy to replace the blades.
We automated our mill.
It is the best!
$680 WOW!
I paid less than $400 back then.
You can also use a bike (make it stationary).
I love mine.
It's worth it!! You can grind beans, corn, nuts...the blades are diamond grit.
What a great resource. Nice find. and he is soo cute. A great ambassador for his company.
That's a cool store! Thank you for taking us.
Been there any number of times. Great place and great people
my hand-cranked food mill came with an optional electric motor that fits most hand-cranked items. I don't mind doing this by hand but wow! the motor is a game changer. When I say I don't mind cranking I mean I don't mind my husband doing the hand-cranking! Too much for me.
Solar showers are very useful. I’ve used them loads when camping. Almost as good as home and there’s nothing like a hot shower to make you feel human again!
The musical instruments were beautiful. What a great store, thank you for sharing.
Enjoyed your multi-product store, very informative for sure!
Wow what a fantastic place!!! ❤
I stayed at an off-grid place years ago and they used some black hoses on plywood that was painted black for the hot water. It was in the Pacific Northwest and still provided quite a bit of hot water in the nicer weather. It wasn't helpful in the winter, but then again, the wood stove would be in use that time of year.
Small businesses generally have to diversify to make it anymore. What a fascinating place!
My grandson studied the violin and I loved the luthier's shop!
I bought "LifeStraw" type straws for my kids' get home bags.
I have recently brought up getting a solar shower.
That is a one-stop place for just everything you need for prepping.
We agree with your diversification statement. Jim
Wonderful store! I really need to go to Utah!!!!! Thank you Pam and Jim for the tour.
Amazing shop and what a helpful clerk ❤ That’s great you’re able to do this video ❤️
I wish we had a store like that here. How cool is that.
Love your videos. You may want to look up on youtube on how to make a camp shower out of a weed sprayer. They are able to sit on the ground to be used. Lifting a bag full of water above your head to hang can be difficult. You can paint the sprayer black to heat the water inside quicker.
What a great combo store! Food, prep, music, and athletics!
Love seeing Dr Suzuki's method is still around ❤❤❤ He was a wonderful man!
Onto semantics --- it's pronounced LOO TI ay/air. Not Luth ee ear.
We don’t have any stores like this in Kansas. I should have given you my list so you could pick them up for me!😉
No sporting goods stores? Jim
Oh my goodness! What a store! I’d love to have one near me for sure. One stop shopping with a playground for young and old adults! Fun! Thank you for showing us this store, and Jaylin (sp?) is a cutie. I’m an old gal so I can say that. Very handsome guy…thank you Sir 😀
When I was growing up, stores like that were Army and Navy Surplus. Jim
We have shopped there a few times over the last 15+ years, cool store, we bought a lot of wheat from them
Thanks for this trip to such a great store and your quick opinion of their items. Very creative, love it! ❤🤗
I love that store...
What a great shop! Combining artistic survival and practical survival.
What an amazing store...I would be going there all the time! Thanks for taking us along.
You are welcome. Jim
That was fun. I really appreciated your time spent with the grinders. I have looked at the manual ones and been unsure about selecting one. I knew that the more expensive ones would more than likely do a better job and would last longer, but they are out of our budget at this time. The one that you could get the motor for seemed like a good fit for us. I can't wait to see you demo the solar shower! You guys are great. I always enjoy what you bring us.
Glad you enjoyed it! The solar shower is on the way. Jim
I'm not sure you will read this, but I think this is one of the best videos you have done recently. Thank you.
Wow, thank you! We appreciate you watching it. Jim
It's not the usual 'come shop with me' video. I like it!
I really enjoyed looking around that shop with you. It looks like a very interesting place.
It was! Jim
What a great shop, when we lived off grid, we had a solar bag for showering. We heated up water and just poured it in, especially during the cooler months. Five gallons would do both my shower and James shower. There is nothing better than showering outside. Love this video, 🌷🇨🇦
Wish we had a store like that in our areas. GREAT VIDEO.
Thanks for watching! Jim
I enjoyed exploring that one-of-kind store. Did you check out the paintballs and paintguns? Seems like that would be a fun way to do some target practice at home.
We did not get the paintball items. Jim
My husband and I just bought winter home in Las Vegas and need to get it supplied! We will be taking an adventure to St. George to visit this store. Thank you!
I am so glad that you are doing these! Especially since we live near St. George ❤️.
We have the Country Living Grain Mill and it does a fantastic job. Wheat berries will definitely give your arms a work out, but spelt berries are a breeze to grind. It does come with an optional motor. Great video! I love those kinds of stores! The young man is a gem! Thanks for sharing! 😊💕
Sounds great! Jim
Neat store! Love the double butane stove. The 5 gallon solar shower would make a great gift for my son and his wife . She wont use her shower in camper as she stores her horse supplies in it at shows. Thanks for showing us around.
I couldn’t resist with the name of the video😇❤️👵
OK I just want to know which one of you is going to demonstrate the solar shower? 😊
What a cutie, love that store
I would love to go to this store. We were in st George about 15 years ago. If I’m ever in Utah again I will look this place up. I’m from Michigan.
Oh boy what a fun store!
As a violinist with this kind of lifestyle and mindset, this is my kind o' store! 😍
Us too! Jim
Hi, Jim & Pam! What a great store! A unique mixture of goods, but it all works! Thank you for spending time showing the grinders. I really like the one that has an optional motor. It could be used if the grid goes down. It is very reasonably priced. Thank you for letting us tag along. 😊
I also like that the VKP Brands Grain Mill is made in the USA. ⭐
Oh how awesome,l could try out the grain mills,l would be like a kid in a candy store,l am planning on eventually buy one.
We really enjoyed the tour of the store! Especially enjoyed the demo of the wheat grinders! You two such interesting videos! Many thanks! 😊
Thank you! Jim
Jim, I don’t think that was a plunger by the pressure canner. That looked like an agitator for doing laundry manually 😂
You are correct. Jim
Cool place
Thats a great looking store, wish had one here. Thanks for the look around.
That’s an amazing combination of offerings! I love seeing odd combinations in stores we pass. So far the best on my list are Grocery & Firearms in Beaver, OR and Irrigation & Gifts in Libby, MT. My runner up is Liquor, Grocery & Laundry somewhere in Idaho. 😆
I love the Vesta stove. It kept me warm this winter when my electric went out.
Good to know! Make sure you have plenty of ventilation while it keeping you warm. Jim
What a very interesting shop. I'm amazed at what you can buy
It really is! Jim
Ok, I'm going to say it, ..........Jaylon is CUTE! Fun store! Wish we had one with a Jaylon in it, too! lol
Wow, I love that store & have never been there! Lol
I was in St George last winter and saw that store. I thought it was such a funny store I had to take a picture to show my kids. Just don't forget to stop by the gourmet pie bakery to the right as your facing that store. Yummy pies, too yummy. The line was always out the door. It's best to order in advance or get there early. I was disappointed that Ace hardware no longer sold all that wonderful fabric and glassware upstairs. I don't get back to Utah much anymore.
OH DARN I was so focused on the pie bakery I didn't go into this store. I really wish I would have now. Well maybe it's best I didn't go. I already felt like a pack mule trying to get on and off the plane. I need to go back sooner than planned and drive this time 🙃🤩
On sorry you missed it. But you are right about that pie shop. When I was working at the university we always celebrated each other's birthdays by ordering those pies for each other. It was always a great day when someone had a birthday!!
Very cool store…great to see they sell the Jase kit with the antibiotics. I caught sight of those behind the counter.
We missed those!
This was a great video!
Interesting video, but it's hard to watch when it whizzes around for panaramic views.
Great store! I wish there was one like that in PA near me!
Great video! Would love to have a solar pack but on a fixed income it is out of budget range for us. 4- 12 volt batteries and a 3000 watt inverter has to work.
Red jr mill can also do nut butters. There is an adapter you can purchase to make elec tric using drill.
Thanks for the information. Jim
What a great store!
What a fun place!
🎉❤Awesome fun
😊 thanks for taking us along 🙂🌻
Our pleasure 😊 Jim
First, how nice it is that you have a store like that near you. There is no where near me that sells freeze dried or dehydrated food. I'd have to drive for hours. (I do have an Excalibur.) Then, the sales person was nice, and knew his inventory very well. That's a find as well.
OK - mills. I have a Country Living grain mill, but we live in about 500 square feet and I just don't have room for it bolted to my counter top. It isn't supposed to be outside, even in a shed, and that is straight from the Country Living folks. So, I haven't used it. I've just been baking with store-bought flour and storing wheat berries.
However, I recently bought a Vevor grain mill on AMZ, which is electric, and is OK for living in a shed/barn. I love it. We built a great big table out of 2 x 6's on large wheels so I can roll it out of it's stall (yes, it is in a stall, LOL, and covered up to stay clean), plug it in in the barn aisle, and use it. So far, I've ground up a bunch of whole corn for chicken feed. We will also feed pigs and beefers when we get more in, prices are pretty high right now. I am busy in the garden and orchard and training a new horse at the moment, but one of these days I will grind some wheat and bake bread using that instead of Gold Medal flour from the store. Now, with that said, we blew out the corn dust from it with the air compressor. I also would like to experiment with grinding our own dent corn for corn bread, etc. I'm not a huge fan or corn bread, it's gritty, but with my own mill, I could make it finer and see how that is. I love experimenting!
Fun store :)
We agree. Jim
That plunger looks like one for washing clothes.
The cost of the grain mills has a bit to do about how grains are milled. The big red one, if I remember right, has actual stones that grind. Most have metal or stainless. Interesting to me. Academy Sports has some cool camping items that are similar to this store if you're not blessed to have your cool store. What did we do before online ordering?
I recently purchased a ACO cooler and they recalled the battery in the first 2 months of purchase and didn't have a replacement battery yet. They want me to send back the one I have and wait for the new one. I requested that they send the new one and then I will return the bad one in the box. I don't have a box on hand with all the warnings it would need to travel back to the company.
LiON Cooler ACO POWER
Wow, that’s an interesting store. I’m such a city dweller and clueless that places with things like that are open for the public. 👍🏻❤
A lot of sorting goods store have a great selection of a number of those items. Jim
They sell Jase Case antibiotics
So it's a "No" to a paintball demo? 😘😂
Yes, no paintball
Could you use slower camera movements?...I also most got motion sickness :) Thank you
You could change the playback speed to slower.
Do y’all live in St George?
No
