Dear Lord...I love this woman! She is determined to teach us food preparation, food preservation and self reliance through sickness and in health. One way or another she will get it through our thick skulls and we’ll all be better off for it! Thank you sooo much! Bunches of ‘Get Well’ energy headed your way!
I have been using this recipe for YEARS! I use oil instead of butter, and they come out perfectly. I do not brush the tops with butter either before or after baking, instead I do an egg wash. (feedback from family, the butter tasted great, but it was kinda oily on the fingers). I also cut the sugar in half - so if you ever need to conserve white sugar, the buns taste fine. Interestingly, cutting out the sugar entirely does't work. And, aside from the taste, no matter how juicy the burger is, the bun will not fall apart, nor will it compress down to a thin, soggy piece of bread!
I have made that recipe from KAF and agree with you wholeheartedly they are incredibly delicious. Love fresh baked bread. Thank you Pam and Jim ....sure hope you are fully recovered from your cold soon Pam.
I have learned more than I could ever expect since finding Pam and her husband. I am 63 years and I am learning something new every day from Pam! Thank you for all your knowledge and for sharing that with us!
I make my survival bread with milled Wheat Berries, yeast and honey. It is the best bread with minimal ingredients. I have made buns with it too. 4 cups milled flour, 1/4 cup honey and 1/2 TBLSP yeast
I'm making these today not because I can't get any I'd rather not pay an arm and a leg for 8 in 2023. I'm going with your rendition instead of KA. Thanks for sharing this.
I so appreciate you working while you are sick 🤧, but you sound like you are overworking. We love your work, but love you more! I hope you rest up and get well soon. Hugs.
I have never made hamburger buns and I have only a small amount of bread baking experience outside of a bread machine. I’m actually hoping to give making hamburger buns a try thanks to this video! I’m sorry you’re still not feeling the best. I very much appreciate your videos and all they teach and inspire me to do. However, I would never want that at the expense of your health so I hope you’re taking good care of yourself. Thank you, praying you’ll be healthy and back 100% soon.
My complete appreciation to you!! I was just thinking about needing to learn hamburger buns ~ You are an amazing teacher ~ Thank you and I hope you recover soon ~

Thank you so much for sharing your recipe and your method, i can't wait to try this. The buns look wonderful. I hope you get to feeling better soon, so sorry you were not well.
Thanks! I rarely buy any kind of bread or bun. It will be interesting to see what kind of ovens you will come up with, for baking bread when the power is down. Btw, I buy dehydrated egg powder from Bulk Foods in Toledo, Ohio. They have wonderful products that are priced fairly and they ship fast and at a reasonable cost.
Looks wonderfully delicious! I am at the moment making homemade sweet Hawaiian roll which are delicious. I look forward to trying this recipe out. Thank you. Missouri Wrightchk

I think you need a rest, and someone to make some good soup for you! I’m so sorry you are not well, so please take good care of you! I have made King Arthur’s buns for both hamburger and hot dog buns for years, and you are so right! It really is just the best! I also think the buns make wonderful garlic toast. I also have used the dough to make pretzel rolls, which is an extravaganza of flavor for sandwiches! I need to make some this week for pulled pork.
You are an amazing woman. I don't see how you keep up with it all. I have learned so much from watching your videos. Thanks for all you do for each of us.

You do an egg wash after they come out of the oven, too?
@@donnainmt Egg wash only before baking, other wise you end up with raw egg on your bread.
@@donnainmt No, just before. Sometimes I sprinkle with sesame seeds - if I remember.
Thanks for the tips. The original recipe gives the option of an egg wash with sesame seeds as well.
@@donnainmt No. Before cooking only.
You are definitely the energizer bunny!
