My son plays the hell out of this game and I would hear him in his room calling out orders and such for hours sounding so serious and often yelling and whatnot, until watching this I never knew what it was all about...just that it was annoying. I can see it's heart pumping action when being played properly. The night transition and gameplay is very immersive and dynamic, good stuff.
It´s nice seeing a father taking interest on his son`s activities, maybe not so much to sit down and play with him, but at least a nice conversation can be held now, thank you.
My dad used to hate it when I spend countless sleepless nights behind the computer! Now that I've owned and sold a couple of IT companies, I never heard him complain again!

Wow. This is crazy. All real players. That could get messy really quick. But everyone is doing a pretty good job and keeping the chain of command. This is what I was hoping that all the war games was gonna be way back in the day. This is awesome. But just like any Sim, I'm sure you're gonna get a lot of servers full of people acting like they're in GTA. Which will ruin for the people trying to make it realistic. You can tell quite a bit of work went into making this authentic.
These type of matches always happen on servers where they plan it beforehand so that more people could get there in time and it's almost always teams with people who they know is capable to play that tactical playstyle so no gta shit happens.

First game was today during this episode. Was in 2nd platoon and we had a hell of a travel to AO but man was it fun. Everyone was friendly and supportive. People were quick to help and explain what i needed to do. Definitely get familiar with the boot camp and learn basic control and you will be in good hands!

Not being snarky, but Google is a good friend as well as people have long been curious and have created many pages that break out and define the various terms used. The other option is to just ask. Most are friendly and will spit out an explanation.

Only thing that breaks the immersion is how a grunt isn't being smoked for not grabbing those ammo crates and loading up while control and lead are loading it
Nice to see this again and enjoy playing this. The only thing is now, after 5 tours overseas, I am so done with proper protocol so I just play now to have fun without the proper procedures. Either way, nice work and love the gameplay. 👍
I have over 29,000 (thousand) hours in A3 - normally with such a high player count - managing players is like herding cats. Amazingly even the radio discipline was good. Impressive.

10:31 when he says yes and walks forward it looks like an assuring head nod. Arma is my #1 for just, everything military simulation. This is way more enjoyable to me personally than the almost mindless 10 second run and guns COD offers. Though no hate, you meet sweats in that game you spend 10 minutes of your life at the will of one person, whilst these are obviously larger scale and just fudgin grade A grown man fun haha. ( Though obviously it’s cool seeing kids actually try and have fun. Love it man!
I enjoy the role play 100%. I can tell these guys are literally vets. Hearing the one percenter slang just takes me back. The organization, tactical awareness, and no man left behind attitude is refreshing. Awesome job guys.
I'm pretty sure these guys arn't vets. There is a "combat dictionary" in the game that teaches you "military slang" after constantly playing for a couple years and using said dictionary, you start to sound like these guys.
You should have at 4-6 gunners watching your 6 at all times, you have enough gunners. You don't have focus so much on proper decorum, just call it enemy vehicles, call out locations and get heavy artillery to light that mf up. Use heavy artillery to clear out areas to aid your advancing squads to check points, if needed. Once you have an areas secured set up a perimeter, if you can be surrounded. Even if they don't ever see in action but at least you have eyes on the clock.
Ohhhhh damn! Phase Lines, Rally Points, designated coms, mission briefs, chain of command.. this shit is legit!!! I have to get in on this action! This is a true first for me, watching an ACTUAL thorough MILSIM mission execution. Solid content brothers! I’m hooked now. 💪🇺🇸

Ok... as a guy who drove Bradleys in real life, that Bradley driver's spacing when the platoon moved out of the FOB was driving me insane! Personally, I would've maintained about 100 to 150 meter spacing in that terrain. I get its a game, but thats my two cents. But seriously, now I want to play this game just run a Bradley and get the shadow of a taste of the old days.

That's why we play these games/simulations, to get out from the norm and be what we wanna be. For campaigns like this I can understand not doing the sniper/spotter grouping for duo missions and whatnot, but there could still be a marksman in the inf units (like Jackson in Saving Private Ryan) or something. Especially if that person practices and-or is good at their job then I say screw it, don't pick on them :P Let them be! /end rant lol

military vet looking to play this game, im coming from Tarkov and looking to change it up a bit. my question is when i go to buy the game there are like 20 different DlC editions and different packs and bundles. the ultimate bundle is $120 bucks. I joined a platoon sized group and they only do player vs AI. But man was it so fun, stressful yes, but man is it a blast. Most groups are very helpful and understanding to new players. If they aren't then you could always join another group.
How do you even do this. I want to play so bad but its so confusing. All the groups I've tried to play with require hours of training before you can do a operation and you have to join discord and register on websites. How and with who can you play to learn the game but csn still enjoy this serious and focused gameplay
Canuck, the learning curve is pretty steep at first but once you get into Arma it is one of the best games ever because theres literally endless possibilities what to do and which kinds of missions/matches to play since in the end Arma is a military sanbox simulator with loads of mods and custom game modes.
