Arma 3 alpha lol? It was an utter mess. Reforgers on point now though. For a "tech demo" its already better than most full fledged tac shooters on the market. Once you get into it you wont be able to go back to babyish handholding BF clones like Squad or HLL.
The trees look great when fully rendered. But on a crappy LOD, far away, it looks horrible. And overall, the game still looks plasticy/pastelly sometimes
A key thing to remember, is this "game" is a tech demo, Its not a full release arma title, its a tech demo on the new engine. Bohemia is working on arma 4, and using this as a testbed for modders so when A4 comes out, The modders are already well versed in the mod tools and communities dont have to wait for their modders to learn the new engine before they can transfer over.
But seems weird that they wouldnt fix more bugs for reforger, since they will want them fixed in ArmA 4 as well. Especially since it getting so popular

@@elkien3 Like I said, Its a test bed, They do work on it as evidenced by them working with communities in the game to sus out the connectivity and stability issues. Majority of the feedback ends up going towards Arma 4 though instead, where as key things such as connection stability, server stability, etc will be worked on in Reforger because those are key to Arma 4 having a clean launch.
They charged $40 for this thing though and I can't even play it. I'd understand if it was not feature full but it wasn't usable for the first 6 months. Granted I have to try it again but by the time it's stable they'll release Arma 4 sigh..

The cobra hitting the ground and not Michael Bay'ing into a fireball is surprisingly refreshing. A little ground deformation and visible damage to the helicopter would make it look so crisp.
@@F34R- no it isnt, the cobra is a modded vehicle, and if you expect much from this game, dont, it was never meant to be a full game in the first place and they never intended to be putting lots of work into this
What I like about the modded equipment (uniforms ect) is that they don't stick out like a sore thumb in game, unlike in ARMA 3 where non vanilla assets were pretty noticeably off putting.
I'm not sure what modded assets you were playing with in ARMA 3, but most the stuff I used was less sore thumb than the vanilla assets. I can't stand that vanilla neon green digi-cam shit.

Klean’s new Realism server runs incredibly well. I played about 4 hrs last night and only DC’d once and was auto reconnected in my truck with no problems. Server never dipped below 30 fps, and I maintained over 60fps with my old computer. I am addicted to this game.
@@namyx_711050ti is kinda ancient and weak for current gaming it’s time to upgrade if you want to play newer demanding games like this one my man. IF it runs it’ll definitely be a struggle and at lowest settings to keep 30fps.

@@AJ--212 PTSD is very weird. When I got home I just felt off. I never was the same after the war. It's normalized now because I've lived with it for 20 years. But I will still never feel like I did before the war. I'll never get solid sleep again or be able to be in a crowded area without checking for threats constantly. It's not even on purpose it's like a second nature and makes me anxious. War was a crazy experience and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Just never knew what PTSD was going to be like and it's more than some guys can handle. Especially the ones who never get help.

Arma Reforger has definitely improved in the past 2 years and while there are still MANY issues that need to be addressed as the video clearly points out in the intro, the game brings a lot to the table and I'm not only talking about the graphics but in all aspects. The animation looks a lot smoother, gun-play and movement feel amazing compared to other Arma installments, including Arma 3 WITH mods. The game master function is incredibly user friendly and simple, so simple a person can learn how to run an operation by simply experimenting by yourself for an hour, allowing anyone to host a game, privately or in public lobbies. This game has a greater potential than any other installments and once they flesh out the finer details and continue to support the modding platform, that is when this game will truly take off like never before.
sorry to burst the bubble but it's not going to truly take off. Reforger is a test bed for bug fixing/modders for Arma 4 and that's all it's ever been. the minute Bohemia get what they want out of it it's getting dropped like a sack of potatoes... not that it's a BAD THING, because when Arma 4 comes out WHO DOGGY that game is going to be PEAK with all the info they've been getting with reforger, this is more a reminder that the game isn't a "game" but a test that will eventually drop support.

I love the Cold War setting, wish it was more popular but it seems nobody is happy unless they have NVG, IR laser, magnified optic and backup red dot. Just like every single other shooter
That is why our community's Reforger servers have not added more modern content to our main servers. Some people have come around to realizing it makes for some engaging firefights!
I hoped on for the first time a couple of days ago and had no clue what I was doing, the community was great and patient with me and I had a blast, and was amazed at how everyone else was communicating with each other and working together, a great experience which draws me in, thanks to them for that
In just the last day today, I’ve seen over 5 different small channels do their own ARMA Reforger videos and some even with mods in halo and other games as such, the player base is VERY VERY hungry! 😂❤

Drewski has quite literally the best videos to watch for a fucking hour as it's 12 am on a saturday morning but I count it as my friday night time, good shit drewski.
I thought people were a bit too hard on this game when it came out. My only issue has been finding a nice balanced server between "We demand you be here very session on the dot with spot on inside milsim knowledge" and "Yeah i thought we'd just fight stuff in that direction" *seeing enemies spawned right in front of me, destroying illusion*
Not sure if same in US, but noticed that a little cheaper to buy as bundle if you own 3 as you get a bundle discount, save yourself a couple of dollars folks.

I got back on reforger because of your videos when I first got it nobody was playing it I went on my first operation in arma ever on a pve server it was night I barely found nvgs and tracer rounds for my m60 before hopping in a medic Humvee as the convoy was rolling out I messed up and forgot my map I had no idea where I was where my squad was at 1 point I was running up and down a road carrying messages between Humvees about road blocks I was so afraid of getting left behind I couldn't hear anything but I made it out 10/10

Great Vid, Been loving the content Lately, even more so than usual. Youre crushing it. This vid however does show the one thing I am struggling to enjoy in this game, most people are crutching under barrel grenade launchers, I have died more to grenade launchers than bullets the last few days and its sad because every shot you took in this video was amazing, it felt awesome watching them drop one by one.
The game itself is absolutely golden. The gun play, the insane amount of interactability. Incredibly well done NPCs. Amazing looking world beyond the scale of majority of modern titles and so much random stuff happens that your could never account for that you could play through the same exact scenario 100 times and not once would it happen the exact same way.
Best upgrade found so far is control side been simplified compared to Arma3. Hope they keep that way if they are going towards cross platform, .. Thanks, nice video, .. ✌🏼
this game is honestly so much fun and the mods are extremely versatile, just goes to show how much the FPS/Milsim community wants another Arma type game and Arma Reforger does a solid job of that for now.
I remember playing this at launch and I just thought I didn't know wtf I was doing. Come to find out it was just broken. Just picked it up again earlier this week and was honestly blown away by the performance. I never drop below 140 frames and usually sit at 160ish. Haven't really had any crashes or game breaking bugs and I've been having a great time. It actually got me off Hell Divers. Hopefully they ramp up the support for this one and it turns into something crazy or it at least makes a good stepping stone for A4
I was a young kid playing Delta force, and the millsims stuck with me for along time throughout arma 2 and its million mods until FrankZ made a video on Arma 3 and I was hooked on that. At some point I fell off milsims, and I feel like this is the perfect time to come back
Bohemia even stated way back its a experiment for Arma 4 . They said was gonna get a couple years of support then they were gonna focus on working on Arma 4 . They also stated that the mod making process was gonna be the same for 4 with same engine.

Drew is the reason I got arma again, I'm new to arma and I'm on console, I've killed maybe 30 people so far yet it's the most fun I've ever had in a game
By far the worst thing about arma is the foliage drop off at distances. Ruins the game, you can't hide in grass because it's not rendered after a certain point. I really hope they solve that in Arma 4 somehow
I got reforger for my Xbox back in February and it has absolutely come a very long way from the start. I have gotten very good at dropping Russians with my sopmod m4a1 and I genuinely can no longer play any other game besides reforger. Absolutely love playing as a combat medic in the 75th ranger regiment

It's a Nightforce 1-8x ATACR, a very nice LPVO but runs about $2800 in real life so it's nice at least having it in video game form.

vietnam server has 8 hour long fights sometimes, without being kicked out once. the lag is also doable after 8 hours.

I thought people were a bit too hard on this game when it came out. My only issue has been finding a nice balanced server between "We demand you be here very session on the dot with spot on inside milsim knowledge" and "Yeah i thought we'd just fight stuff in that direction" *seeing enemies spawned right in front of me, destroying illusion*
On release my friends and me couldn’t play for more than 5 mins without a hard crash so I do think it was only fair people complained

I got back on reforger because of your videos when I first got it nobody was playing it I went on my first operation in arma ever on a pve server it was night I barely found nvgs and tracer rounds for my m60 before hopping in a medic Humvee as the convoy was rolling out I messed up and forgot my map I had no idea where I was where my squad was at 1 point I was running up and down a road carrying messages between Humvees about road blocks I was so afraid of getting left behind I couldn't hear anything but I made it out 10/10
my biggest gripe with reforger is the heli system, the physics and how responsive they are just feels wrong
hey drewski, a bit off topic of the video, but i would love to see some stalker GAMMA one-night-in-the-zone-style video, where you're mostly just talking while going into different places (basically i just want to see the same video but done in a different place like Yantar, maybe Limansk or Agroprom, but specifically at night so it would have the same "vibe" as that video)

Great Vid, Been loving the content Lately, even more so than usual. Youre crushing it. This vid however does show the one thing I am struggling to enjoy in this game, most people are crutching under barrel grenade launchers, I have died more to grenade launchers than bullets the last few days and its sad because every shot you took in this video was amazing, it felt awesome watching them drop one by one.
You know it’s good when you come on RUclips to watch a dcs tutorial and see drewski uploads a new video and watch that instead
The game itself is absolutely golden. The gun play, the insane amount of interactability. Incredibly well done NPCs. Amazing looking world beyond the scale of majority of modern titles and so much random stuff happens that your could never account for that you could play through the same exact scenario 100 times and not once would it happen the exact same way.

Best upgrade found so far is control side been simplified compared to Arma3.

this game is honestly so much fun and the mods are extremely versatile, just goes to show how much the FPS/Milsim community wants another Arma type game and Arma Reforger does a solid job of that for now.
Bought the game way back when you said too and I’m glad to see it coming alive! Will be on this weekend
I remember playing this at launch and I just thought I didn't know wtf I was doing. Come to find out it was just broken. Just picked it up again earlier this week and was honestly blown away by the performance. I never drop below 140 frames and usually sit at 160ish. Haven't really had any crashes or game breaking bugs and I've been having a great time. It actually got me off Hell Divers. Hopefully they ramp up the support for this one and it turns into something crazy or it at least makes a good stepping stone for A4

I was a young kid playing Delta force, and the millsims stuck with me for along time throughout arma 2 and its million mods until FrankZ made a video on Arma 3 and I was hooked on that. At some point I fell off milsims, and I feel like this is the perfect time to come back

Bohemia even stated way back its a experiment for Arma 4 . They said was gonna get a couple years of support then they were gonna focus on working on Arma 4 . They also stated that the mod making process was gonna be the same for 4 with same engine.

Drew is the reason I got arma again, I'm new to arma and I'm on console, I've killed maybe 30 people so far yet it's the most fun I've ever had in a game
The key to winning a bush fight in Arma has always been bring a full bag of grenades
By far the worst thing about arma is the foliage drop off at distances. Ruins the game, you can't hide in grass because it's not rendered after a certain point.
I really hope they solve that in Arma 4 somehow

I got reforger for my Xbox back in February and it has absolutely come a very long way from the start. I have gotten very good at dropping Russians with my sopmod m4a1 and I genuinely can no longer play any other game besides reforger. Absolutely love playing as a combat medic in the 75th ranger regiment
