Funny because sometimes people can be suspicious even when THEY instigate a call. I work in a call centre and I had a lady ring once saying she'd had a letter from our company, and when I started trying to do security checks with her she got so stubborn and refused any. She told me "you could be anybody", like not unreasonable lady but you've dialled the number on the letter posted to you and sat in a queue, only to question the legitimacy of the agent you get...she hung up on me in the end.

I thank you so much for your duty to all the elderly and me who is not elderly but am a bit slow. Thank you my good Jim. :)
I Work as a fraud investigator for a UK bank and the amount of times I've heard the scam about "£300 to amazon and £1100 to some international company" is insane. Quite pleasing seeing it from this point of view.
For those in the US like me the first lady lost 35000 pounds an equivalent to $41,776.35 in US dollars. That is absolutely disgusting how someone can steal that much money from someone who worked hard for it. Thats life destroying... I can't believe that they can sleep at night knowing that. My heart goes out to everyone who has been scammed. Thank you Jim for being the un-sung hero to everyone dealing with scammers. I am glad that the UK banks pay for that kind of stuff so hopefully she got her money back.
its disgusting how someone could be so gullible and hand over that money sending it in a box with tin foil hiding the money to a address thats easily searchable and found and why would your bank ask you to take out money and send it to somewhere anyway ,honestly some people are not only gullible but are thick as well im sorry if your that stupid your as much to blame as the scammers for believing there easily seen through bullshine ,anyway im off to chat with magumbo who is a african prince who is giving me part of his inheritance of 35 million if i send him some i-tune cards what a deal im gonna be rich

i can't comprehend the evil in people scamming like this. the phone call is so hard to listen to
For a lot of them, it's not that they're evil, it's that they're desperate. All other jobs are taken, and while this might not pay well because their boss who provided the pc, script, and headset takes 99% of the scammed money, the worker can feed his family. They probably even keep what they do a secret from their own families because they know it's wrong.
They don't feel they are doing wrong , because the person they are scamming has the money and can afford it .. and can get more .. thats how they justify it to themselves ..

YOU'RE doing more than the authorities. You're a saint. God Bless you!
Jim talking to the scammer pretending to be helpless was priceless, little did the scammer know that the shark is waiting for the attack 😂
I always wonder how high these scams go as far as politicians and police
There's been a few documentaries or exposes on that & because some of the scam companies have a legitimate front & the local authorities don't care to look too hard, they frequently cooperate with or even protect those companies. And, of course, there are probably some that just outright bribe or fund the very people who should be investigating them to look the other way.
Many of the Scammer call centers pose as legitimate businesses and they of course attend political events and contribute lots of money
In India? Probably higher than you'd think.
ScammerPayback literally exposed a politician working with the top 5 call centers in one of his earlier videos.
He also has the police caught red handed on camera, tipping off a call center, at midnight, the day before a raid. In his FBI videos.
Many of these can actually go up to politicians holding state level ministries. In quite a few cases these politicians kids may also be involved in such scams.
Jim Browning is a legend!!
0:30 there is 2 key on your phone that will not put you on to the scammers both correct to use. 1) the hang up key will end the call giving you no scammers. 2) the other option the power button, this will not only not give you a scammer but will turn your phone off and send another acammer call to the voice mail

That's very unfortunate that these scammers appear to have fled because they got tipped off. Love the work you do in exposing these scammers!
I wonder how many other scam centres will go dark when information is fed to the local police.
The scammers might try to bribe the police but if they have to pay enough bribes it will cut into their profit a. Might even become uneconomic.
But I think it is always going to be chasing criminals.
These scammers deserve a very long time in prison, they destroy people's livelihoods, take everything they've worked for and leave them feeling like it's entirely their own fault, my grandmother was scammed out of nearly £8,000 and we didn't find out until over a year later, she knew she'd been scammed but she was so ashamed she didn't tell anybody. Scammers have no morals or conscience. That poor victim .. heartbreaking.
Yeah, robbers with a conscience are very rare.
The country of India should be held accountable for this
braindead take
I am holding out hope that it's not every last person in that country. There are multiple factors a play. the government has passed cybercrime laws, but the police don't enforce it as the poverty is rampant everyone seems to be willing to turn a blind eye in order to be paid. so there's obviously a severe job shortage there.
By that logic all men should be held accountable to the actions of the minority.
Now do you realise how nonsensical you sound 🥴
Even if WE did , THEY would let THEM go for some money..
@@Ph3arrt3 bro most Indians are against them just keep that in mind that India has population of over 1.14 billion while us has 300 million and we are extremely poor and most of the population earns less than a few dollars a day that's why they resort to this but it's still not at all justified

As a Banker, this is disgusting. I always educate all my customers on how to spot a scam and HOW our bank calls them to verify transactions. This advice of yours have been given several times by different people but some members of the public are not listening and keep getting scammed. So frustrating
Don't know how it is in your country, in mine, they are hard to reach, call center based.
Twenty five years ago they still had service. I had bought something expensive with cash. Not even a lot of money per se, but a lot for a student with low typical expenses. Got a call from the bank to check if I wasn't forced to part with my money as the withdrawal was unexpected in terms of location amount.
Yes but don’t blame the victim of crime
They're told not to. The phone lines are held open so when they ring the number it's answered by the same scam centre. It's so horrible and it can happen many people 😞
