Im 1 month late but wingers are usually the opposite footed of where they play, ex: Rw= Left footed
When players have an opposite foot to their side of the pitch play them as an inverted position.
The goal against VAFC was not offside, he stayed behind the ball I think

The goal against VAFC actually was legit. The line was not in the place of the last defender but it was for the ball. Your Striker was on the same height as the ball wich makes him not offside.

I love all the videos you do Tom, even your travel videos. I started watching you during the Aberdeen save and that is what got me hooked on your channel, so thank you for this channel. Starting to get that emotional attachment to a FM team save, though as a suffering Blue, I will always cheer for Everton against the rebuild team. So until that game, up Les Verts.

I’ll say that, with my Saint-Etienne save, Charbonnier and the other original top striker ended up 2 and 3 in scoring in Ligue 2 in the first season. Of course, I was playing exclusively 4-4-2.

I love football manager . due to my just getting back on my feet . financial I can't afford to play it as I need a new laptop. I am so looking forward to this going forward . I think last one I played was like 4yrs ago. I know so much new to learn

At the end, the offside-?, if I'm not wrong it's (just barely) not offside since the player passes to someone "behind", or rather "not in front of" him, which makes it no offside.

100% didn't expect to run into this here, but I'm managing Andorra in my save, and Orellana was amazing for me until Bournemouth came in for him at the end of the first season. Definitely recommend him, although this is 2 months old and you'll have already either signed him or not signed him.

For how to pronounce french names/words, as you're an english speaker, the things you should know first is the 3 nasal vowels that we have and that don't exist in english.
On is a bit similar to english, like in pond, kong, front, but don't pronounce the 'n' sound.
An/En/Aen makes a sound like in encore, once again don't pronounce the 'n' sound. So for example in "Caen" the n is mute.
Ain/Ein is the third nasal vowel, there's nothing close in english, so I don't know how to explain to you.
Important rules : When a word finishes with a consonant and then "e" or "es", you don't prononce them. When a word/name finishes with a consonant, but there's no vowel after that, it's mute aswell. For example, Niort finishes with "t" but you don't pronounce it.
But overall your pronounciation is alright, I've seen much worse haha.
Oh and btw ç is pronounced like an "s", so Briançon is Bri-an-s-on
And I don't get what's difficult with Bouchouari. It's pronounced Bu-shwa-ri
And Ajaccio is poronounce Ajaksio, very simple
As for Nadé, it's not pronounced Neid, the é means the "e" is pronounced with a middly closed advanced tongue, like in [e]ternal, or [e]nergy, wheras è is middly open advanced tongue, as in [e]dge or [e]ver

On another topic, you're so bad at negociating contracts. The guy asks 11k, you propose 7k twice, and then accept the 11k. You could have had hhim agree on 9,5k probably, but you ask for too much early on, then don't change, then finally agree for everything he asks. That's not how it works.
Same for the goal bonus. If he wants a bonus for 10 goals in the season, just making it 15 won't work often. 15 goals is a lot for a player in second division. You had to lower the 10 goals bonus and add a small 15 goals bonus
And why do you refuse percentage on next sale? It's a great bargaining tool ! You can get a player for cheaper, you just lose 10 or 15 % on a sale in several years when you'll be in a way better position. And excluding something from the neogciations can just make the other club angry. Makes no sense.

Small tip; adding a relegation release clause of £0 can tend to add a lot of weight to your contract offer. Just don’t get relegated ;)
The team is expected to be promoted and nowhere near relegation so in that situation it usually doesn't add much weight. If you're expected to be in the relegation scrap it's a pretty great trick.
I think Mika Marmol of Andorra FC will be good left IFB for your side.

i think the wage is a bit misleading. i would rather pay someone maybe a little more in wages, but completely remove appearance fee and unnused sub fee. because that would work out much cheaper. i remove like 2k in appearance fee, 1k in unnused sub, and give him like up to 1k more in wages. maybe remove some other stuff in the bonuses. and there im saving like 2-3-4k per week on him than i would trying to lower the salary a little but still giving him bonuses.
Quick question from a new FM player. what's ur league setup/game save look like? I'm trying to get a grasp of it all lol and I'm not sure how to setup what leagues are playable/how many players I should have setup in the database
For this save I have all the French Leagues as playable and then a load of other leagues around the world as view only as I don't want to slow the game down by having it process games for leagues I won't manage it. However, that removes their players so I add them back in by going to the advanced settings and adding playing with at least National Reputation from all continents.
