The Reformers’ Translations Vs. Dr. Kurt Aland’s work. I highly recommend the recently published Modern English Version of the Bible: there is also a parallel publication of the MEV that includes the King James Version. The MEV is the work of the US and British Military Chaplains; and is translated into English from our beloved manuscripts: the Received Texts, AKA Majority Texts, and AKA The Textus Receptus. The majority of our Protestant Reformers accepted these same manuscripts which they eventually used in their translation of the KJV of 1611. As well, those seeking exile from Bloody Mary (as she was called) some 50 years earlier, landed in Geneva where they did a 1560 translation known as the Geneva Bible of 1560 from these same acceptable manuscripts; which at that time was brought to America by Puritan brothers and sisters who were escaping the Catholic assault against Protestantism. This Geneva was reprinted and read by the American church long after the KJV became popularized. Also, earlier translations such as Erasmus’s Textus Receptus (the first parallel Bible in history: a Greek and Hebrew parallel), Tyndale’s 1526 (who drew from Martin Luther’s German translation of 1512), The Matthew Bible of 1537, The Great Bible (which was chained to the pulpits of every Church in England), all these utilized the Reformers acceptable manuscripts. At the last, 47 of the world's most renowned Scholars of the early 17th century went to King James and requested to make of all these great translations one great Bible using the very same manuscripts. The result was The Authorized Version (as the King James was originally titled). For 7 years, 47 of the world's top scholars worked on this masterpiece to the bitter taste of the Catholic Church. Now for the sake of Jesus Christ’s Church I will compare the KJV to recent Bible translations which arose from the work of a man named Dr. Kurt Aland. Aland did his first Greek New Testament in 1959, where he drew from the Vatican's Vaticanus B, and their Codex Sinaiticus manuscripts, which our Reformers utterly rejected. The Kurt Aland Nestle Greek New Testament which was published in 1959, was re-edited 28 times. Aland's work has resulted in the removal of an enormous number of verses from its translations into the English language. Yet, the KJV and the MEV remain solid and haven't removed verses from our beloved Bible manuscripts. When Textual Critics claim that the modern translations are more accurate to the Greek, they are speaking of Kurt Aland's work, "The Nestle Greek New Testament." Aland seriously questioned the Bible's verasity, and the authenticity of its authors. Aland doubted much of the readings of scripture. Aland took his faulty hypothesis: of questioning the accuracy of the Bible, which he evolved into a false theory: that much of the Bible was in error: and that the manuscripts that our Reformers accepted were to be rejected, and then applied his beliefs into a pseudo-science known as Textual Criticism. Aland’s Nestle Greek has made its way into many Seminaries in the USA, and it’s the Greek of choice when creating modern translations. The damage to our Seminarians that adopted his Greek has been catastrophic. It has led to a falling away of faith in the Bible and its foundational truths. Revival begins with hearing the word of God: the gospel. Solid scripture, that has all the verses included within its pages; and that supports the doctrine handed down from Heaven itself; from our beloved witnesses, is essential to a returning to the faith once held dear in the United States Churches. We need translations which don't target our doctrines, or brackett endless verses to establish illegitimacy; where the reader is referred to the footnotes at the bottom of the pages to explain away the inherency of scripture. Brother Terry, I personally request you please read the article, "What Today's Christian needs to know about Dr. Kurt Aland," published by the Trinitarian Bible Society in 2007. Is it any wonder that The Book of Revelation speakers of martyrs who died to preserve the Bible: when it refers to St. John the Beloved who saw the Saints slain for the WORD OF GOD and their testimony. He saw them under the alter when the fifth seal of Revelation was opened (6:9) . Yes, even as we speak the Chinese government is doing an overhall of our Bible translations. Why would we be surprised that Satan’s number one assault against Jesus Christ’s church throughout the centuries has been the Bible. We Saints will defend the Bible; and its doctrines contained within with our lives; and we will see our fellow saints, that were slain for defending the word of God someday.
