I have been following all of your 987.1 videos for awhile now. Just want to thank you for your valuable content. I have a 2006 Cayman S that I picked up with 48000 miles last December. After watching your uaos install video I bought one from Skip and had my favorite mechanic install it as I’m not quite as brave as you have been on your channel, lol. Turns out I had oil in my intake and my original aos was already on its way out. I was only getting a tiny puff of white smoke at startup before I did this preventative maintenance. My mechanic cleaned out the intake and finished the install. I got a low coolant light even though I had the drain plug installed too so we spoke to Skip and he went over the uaos install with my mechanic. Skip suggested we clock the coolant sensor by 90 degrees to prevent false readings. Also swapped out one of the hoses my mechanic added to make it work with my IPD plenum as he was worried that all that vacuum (glove sucking lol) was causing the softer hose to pinch a little. Since then I have not had an issue but my car still puffs a bit on cold starts. Usually white smoke but sometimes just a bit blue. It is fine when starting warm. How much smoke are you actually seeing that started you down this path? Does it smoke on warm starts too? What color is your smoke? My research indicates that a little smoke on cold starts is normal for this car but I’d really like to know how much smoke I need to see before losing sleep!
I also did the water pump, deep sump, new injectors, spark plugs and coils just before the uaos because I’m so worried about keeping the engine healthy. My bore scope came up clean before I started the mods too. My main issues now are I’m leaking window washer fluid somehow and we can’t find the source. I also switched over to Driven DT40 oil so I’m keeping a very close eye (daily) on oil consumption since the uaos install. It seems to burn just slightly more than before but I have no idea what the dealer put in it before I replaced it. I have only added a quart since the oil change to Driven but I had the deep sump (fvd brombacher) done at the same time. Just don’t have a great baseline to work with for comparison. Car itself pulls strong with the base Softronic tune and Soul Performance exhaust. Thanks for showing me the way both good and bad. I’m pulling for you and your engine!

Well you win longest comment! 😂
Thanks for watching and your support. Mine smokes for quite a while on cold start. Like 3 minutes once. Doesn’t smoke on warm start

Hey, you mention in this video that you are friends with the UAOS inventor, I think this is the same guy posting on Rennlist about a new product called UIDS? Would love to see a video about the Ultimate Integrate Dry Sump, looks like a really neat idea for solving the oil starvation problems without a super deep sump.

Why is there so much oil in your engine's intake manifold? Are the rings so worn/shot on that engine and it has tons of oil blow-by? Maybe that engine is suffering from lots of bore scoring.

@@HelpMeDIY actually after watching the full video, I might change my mind, it was mainly regarding the glove, what a save. Fingers crossed it’s not too major for the rest of the engine.
