- 2024 Masterworks is a culmination of years of work that has come together to make the best line of guitars we have ever made. With expanded lineup that includes new Parlor, Grand Auditorium and OM models, more Rosewood, our Custom line with back bevel, an even better fit and finish, and an innovative new pick-up system, there is a lot to explore in our new Masterworks series for 2024.
About Masterworks:
Making a guitar from all-solid wood delivers strong tonal benefits. Our Masterworks Series embraces all of them.
Top thickness, brace weight and tapering, back design and wood choice all count, and when each is considered as a part of the sum total of the instrument’s voice, great articulation and quality of tone is achieved.
Masterworks Guitars are known for their powerful voicing, inspiring articulation and instant response. This is achieved through our FS6 bracing system, which helps generate more vibration, heightened by AAA soundboards and premium components throughout.
Masterworks acoustic-electric models are fitted with the LR Baggs HiFi system-a premium, non-invasive design that pairs dual bridge plate sensors with high-fidelity electronics for exceptional balance, definition and dynamics.

Bravo to Alvarez for incorporating the new LR Baggs HiFi system!!!
I am a fan of LR Baggs systems and I believe it will give your new lineup of guitars a real boost in sales. I also give support to the others commenting on providing a matte or satin finish options for us players that like a more natural looking guitar that doesn’t show every fingerprint. Keep up the advancements on these! 👍🏻⭐️👏
yeah, acoustic
Just picked up my 1st Alvarez custom Masterworks. I love it. Really sounds fantastic.
Iterate, iterate, iterate. You guys are always making your products better. So great to see.
Thanks @gregkondrasuk4960! What would you like to see next? 👍
I just bought an Alvarez, first time I’ve owned one. I bought it because when I saw it, I just wasn’t a fan of the guitar brand ( even though Alvarez is my last name lol), whenever I played one, it just didn’t “speak “ to me. When I picked up this latest one, wow what a difference. My Alvarez guitar will stand up to any other guitar hands-down. I absolutely love it. I want to thank you for creating a great product. I am so happy to own this guitar, and I’ll always be a fan of Alvarez guitars.
You guys keep doing it. Just when you think you can't do anything else, you've gone ahead and raised the bar. Bravo to you and your team Chris for showing the big 3 that you don't have to spend $3000-$5000 to get an elite and quality instrument. 👍👍🤯🤯🤯🤯😎😎😎😎🎶🎶🎶🎶
Cedar/rosewood is a money combination.
So excited to try some of these gorgeous guitars out!
Ordered a Masterworks Elite 77----back ordered! bought a 2024 MG66CE Custom, sounds great, looks and feels amazing-----first string, 2nd fret DEAD! head stock slight twist. now im waiting on a replacement and they too are back ordered.
After a long search and seeing tons of your videos, I bought a MF60OM from Sweetwater. The herringbone border looks stunning and was a deciding factor. I currently live in Costa Rica, which has around 74%-80% humidity year round so I have an Eva-dry 333 inside the case (which also is one of the best gig bags I have seen).
The guitar sounds fantastic and I am waiting for LR Baggs to release the Bronze onboard tuner to install it on the guitar.
Thank you for all the videos, really helped on my decision.
Glad to hear it @juanjosemora6534! Congrats on your new Alvarez! Thanks for the kind words, its great to know the channel is helping.🙌👍
I gig with my Masterworks MD60EBG every week and its a real workhorse. Looking forward to tyring these new ones out.
Man, I wish you guys offered more left-handed guitars. There are so many left-handed players that would love to have choices on guitars other than just the Artist series.
Are you going to offer a Parlor with a Cedar top? That would make a sweet little fingerpicking guitar.
I love cedar tops. I like what you’re doing. Thank you
If you can say, is there a timeframe for seeing the new Alvarez line in stores?
I am an Alvarez fan, own an MFA70wceshb (the OM walnut) and a Yairi WY1TS. Looking forward to looking at this new generation of MD's and MG's. There are no models out there right now that I can find. I need a rosewood companion for my D18, and I would love to give the new MD or MG,with the Baggs Hifi a shot before I pull the trigger. So, when will we see something besides videos?
I have an alvarez md75 and it’s cedar/rosewood dreadnought. Open pore finish. There’s very little info about it about it online though! The model seems to have been phased out a long time ago. I really love how it sounds. Is the new model gonna be very different to mine? I would love to try it if i get a chance
Chris
I thought I’d let you know as a Alvarez fan since I was a child being influenced by my dad, you’re doing a stellar job dude. I now own 5 as a adult. Keep it up man!
We've passed this onto Chris! Thanks so much for the kind words @strokingoutloudpodcast, what would you like to see next?👍
@@AlvarezGuitarsOfficial I’m extremely excited for the arch tops and plan on getting one myself even though I told my wife I was done buying new guitars 😂😂😂
I'm looking at a Alvarez MG66ce Shadowburst Acoustic-electric that according to serial number I think is a 2023 model at Sweetwater. It has the new LR Bagg's HIFi pick up system, and Indian Rosewood fingerboard and bridge. You mention that the 2024 Masterworks guitar have the thiner finish, will this guitar serial number E23075993 have the new thinner finish. Thank you for your help.
Will there be a left handed production run this year?
Yes!
When do we get these in the UK?
Great question, @j0pj0p! They are already available and online in the UK.👍
Thanks Chris, I think that you need to send one of each to test and for you! a country Guy not near any music shop and Alvarez supplier. "Just saying" 🤣🤣🤣👍
Im dying for a solid maple Masterworks jumbo! When is that coming to the Masterworks range!? 😊 I currently have 4 Alvarez guitars and would love to add a jumbo to the mix.
Love to hear it, @michaelhenry8861!
Please. When is available MG75ce in Europe? Thank you.
Hi sorry to bother you ... I'll spare you my unusual circumstance to now owning a 1981 Korean Built 5220 Regent, Serial #62115, built in May of 1981. I just found & subscribed to you guys, but have a simple question. Is the following true about my 81 Regent.> ( Solid wood top back & sides ?)< It is not easy finding good information on the older ones. LOVE YOUR SHOW Thank You
I went to try a Taylor 114ce but compared the Alvarez MF60ce in shadowburst it blew the Taylor out of the water. Really singing trebles and lovely deep woody base notes. I use it mainly for fingerstyle.
Not to say that Taylorsarent amazing guitars and when im a better player hope to get one of their expensive models. However in the £1000 price range, the Alvarez was much better value for money in my humble opinion.
So no ebony fretboard like the secret guitars you showcased in the March video going to Glasgow..?
Just a few more weeks and we’ll be able to tell you more about this…! Watch this space in the new year.
I am sooo interested in the MD60 but have one nagging question that puzzles me . What is the differences between the MD60 Herringbone and the MD60BG Bluegrass model?
I might be late but I had this same question it turns out they’re the same thing they basically changed the name in their newer model so instead of calling it MD60 Bluegrass now it’s called Hearringbone they have dropped that BG tag I only know this because the guy said it himself in one of the video I saw when they’re introducing a new 2024 model guitar here’s a video if you wish to check it yourself. “Incredible Acoustic Guitars from Alvarez | NAMM 2024” time stamp 9:25
@@ashikgurung4928 Got it!! Thanks so much my friend I have been looking hard just to find one to play. Love the look and sound and cant get it out of mind!
Nice
PLEASE: What is the difference between the MF60OM and the new 2024 model MF60 Herringbone? There has been a substantial jump in price in the UK. Please explain why this has happened .Thank you.
Hi, firstly there was general price increase in all Alvarez models in 2024. Masterworks 2024 models upgrades, include our new finish process which is thinner, better and LR Baggs HiFi in acoustic-electric models. ❤️
@@AlvarezGuitarsOfficial I'm referring to acoustic-only versions of MF60OM and the new 2024 model MF60 Herringbone. 1. For these acoustic-only models what exactly is the "thinner" and "better" "finish process"? 2. Is this the ONLY difference between the 2 acoustic-only models (so no change in materials/construction/bracing etc?) ? 3. How exactly does it improve playability and tone? 3. IF there are any other differences between the acoustic-only models....please could you list them and explain how they improve playability and tone? Thank you again.
Make an OM without cutaway and add the electronics and natural finish no gloss
THIS. 💯🫡
Oh wow, wasn't expecting to see that bridge plate cracked all the way across at 3:26 mark. That can't be good.
The strap button position on the neck sux. It could easily damage the neck if hit the wrong way.
Well that's how it happens for me. I buy something and then they come out with something better. I guess if I would have realized that, I would have held off on buying my masterworks.
Room for one more? 🙃
@@AlvarezGuitarsOfficial oh yeah! There's always room for more! Lol....
better start saving my pennies
To Alvarez guitars I just want to say that I bought a maple acoustic guitar is the wanted to wash Guitar’s played sound wise. It’s terrible the frets when you hit your finger onto the fret, it sounds terrible it’s buzzing. I just can’t understand why you pay $800 for a guitar and it doesn’t sound good when Taylor makes a $500 guitar that sounds better than this. I just don’t understand so I will now post this all over until somebody recognizes that, they can no longer make expensive guitars cheaper without putting pride into their instrument. This is negligence. I saved up a long time to buy this guitar. Thank you.
Sorry and genuinely shocked to read this message, could you please email info@alvarezguitars , with the model and serial number, and where you purchased the guitar. And we will be in touch ASAP.
Funny how it's really hard to find a bad review on Alverez and fairly easy to find them on Taylors. I have Three Taylors and they're pretty nice...but for the build quality, materials and price Alverez blows Taylor away
Please don't tempt me... :p
If only you'd stop high-glossing them.
Amen!!!! 🤷🏻
Ya this trend needs to go
I agree. I sanded down the finish on my MFA66 to a satin finish and I think it looks 2x better
It makes guitars looks luxurious.
@@LegsON yes most people want everything looking like candy 😅
Starting saving money for this beautiful toyz😂 I got my first Alvarez yesterday and I’m happy with it..ag610cearb I hope the new ones is a bit rounded on fretboards edges for more comfortable playing..
Glad to hear you’re enjoying your new Alvarez, @boygeorgemonde6608!
Very nice
Yes, I will email you
Please stop the high gloss finishes. I love Alvarez, but I hate high gloss on acoustic guitars.
I would rather have open pore wood, but ideally, a matte finish.
Larrivee does satin the correct way.
Peace. 🐰🩶🎸🎶✌️
