Love the tune and the playing, well done! I have a MD60 and certainly like the soung better than a Taylor 315(which I sold). I was starting to think maybe I was missing something by not buying a Martin D18, but your video, and JP Cormier's thoughts have saved me a LOT of money, and reminded me to enjoy what you have, not what you want.👍🤘
JP also gave me the path to trying this grand piano of a dread saved me a ton too I wouldn’t trade this one for any D-18 Martin die hards don’t wanna hear it!
I have a d18, i personally think this is as good as that guitar, its hard to believe it but you have to experience it yourself. Unbelievable guitar specially for the price
I agree incorporating some of kYairi designs is a factor I think too This is lighter wood. Remains to be seen if it can be as good like Martin 30 yrs later but I won’t be here so I don’t care! You pay a fortune from modern martins and they don’t necessarily have that pedigree 😂 unreal guitar at the price point
@@woodreed52 can't put it down!! Playing better with more phrasing, more feeling etc etc. Anyone looking to upgrade a beginner guitar look at one of these. Now I want a Yairi LOL!!!

Hey Mark. There is a song that I really want to learn by Dave Matthew’s called Butterfly (song from movie Because of Winn Dixie). I have half of the song memorized but could you take a look at it and post a lesson on RUclips with your chord breakdown? Thanks.

May I ask if there were any dead notes on your MD60BG when you bought it? I really am wanting to buy this guitar, but there are none that are being carried at any of my local guitar shops. Every single Alvarez that I have played that ARE offered in the stores here have dead notes. There is also a youtube short from a guy that shows his MD60BG with dead notes all over the fret board and he calls this guitar garbage out of the box. Thank you for posting this video...
Alive as hell....one of the best guitars i own and that includes a martin D-41 , Guild D150 , and a lLarrivee D-03 !..dead notes ???... likely fret outs -- caused by improper or shipping heat/ weathering changes -- making the neck bowed so frets are on strings ie cold/ heat extremes . and bad set ups cause 90%-- most easily fixed by adjusting the truss rod...thats why it ships with one
@@woodreed52 Thank you for replying, woodreed52! And, Congratulations on your other fine, iconic guitars! Remember, if I want this Alvarez, it will be a sight-unseen purchase. I have NEVER, in 50 years of playing guitar, bought an acoustic guitar sight unseen. Electrics, YES! Dead notes on an acoustic can not always be guaranteed a fix with a simple set up. Just picked mine up used from GC. Paid a little over $400 with taxes.
Wow is the word.
Fine guitar wonderful clear uppers much brighter than my FG800.
