Nice acreage! Thanks for sharing your home with us! For those complaining about you tossing back good rocks, maybe offer to sell parcels of tumbled rocks to make room for new batches? Or do some giveaways? Nice material ❤

Hi neighbor! We also have a 40 acre chunk of land in Apache county…..just south of the petrified forest park…..we have loads of fun collecting petrified wood and jasper etc for tumbling. I’m still a beginner so fun to see your videos! Thanks for sharing 😁

Nice. So have you thought about letting people dig and selling some of the petrified wood? Kind of like the Doe Belle Ranch? One way to have stuff dug up without doing it yourself. Just a thought. Or, if you want to cut through Kansas on your way between Florida and Arizona, I would gladly meet up with you somewhere and buy a 5 gallon bucket's worth for tumbling, any grade😁. I know it'll never happen, but a fella can dream, can't he?🤔

Hi Mike, Wonderful video! A couple of hours to collect them and 4 months to get them polished! Works for me! Are the tumblers running? Thumbs up! Jim

Do you ever think about digging holes like at the Dobell ranch? Maybe there are whole logs just under the surface??

I do think about that. The soil at my place is very hard packed and rocky just below the surface. I think I'd need an excavator to do any serious digging. My experience trying to dig post holes tells me digging by hand will be very frustrating. How is the soil at your place?

@@MikesLapidaryFossils some spots yes very hard large boulders in areas just under the dirt as well….but others sandy……I would not know where to start digging…..if we decided to try…..lol

Me too. Where to start? I can just see myself tearing up the land at random and not finding anything. Maybe we need ground penetrating radar to find the big petrified logs under our feet.

On another note when I visited the Grand canyon I was surprised that most every house had a water tank trailer parked next to it to supply water. You go to a water pump like a gas station to get your water. Do you have a well or a trailer?

The Grand Canyon is a mile deep. The depth of the canyon pulls the water table down to the level of the river at the bottom. If you live near the canyon the water table is thousands of feet down. Wells aren't practical there. Gotta haul your water yourself or have it delivered by tanker truck. I'm a long way from the canyon. Water is only a couple hundred feet down at my place, but I don't have a well yet. We don't spend enough time out there to make it necessary. I can haul water once a week.

I love your videos but I am a bit torn on this video. I understand that those rocks are your "property" but my friend if not down right mean to some of them poor rocks you are borderline shaming some of them. Stars get cancelled over less these days. Sure would hate to see that happen to you. Treat all rocks with respect and if they are ugly well if you drink a few beers they will start looking better.
