Hi Mike, Beautiful area! I would've liked to see that place 60 years ago. Just can't imagine how many tons of pet wood got hauled off! Looks like you'll keep your tumblers well fed when you get home! Safe travels back to Florida! Thumbs up! Jim
All that white soil, have you ever came across Apache Tears, or other forms of obsidian? Arizonian here and in places like this I’ve had in incredible luck finding Apache tears in areas not known by rockhounds for obsidian. I do wish I knew this location😉 awesome video thank you for sharing your time there with us.
Hi Mike, Thank you for the videos. Relative to the petrified wood, have you had any luck with trying to stabilize any of these with cactus juice or opticon?
Nice! Question: could it be you are finding some good stuff each time you go due to new material eroding out of the hills each year? Kind of like how you explained about how it works with the fossils in Nebraska. Or is it pretty much done eroding out of the hills now? And yes, I admit I was one of those who was saying "Why put it back? That's a nice piece of petrified wood!". I think I would probably hit the daily limit in no time at all😅!!!
Hate to call you out but Because of the Continental divide the Colorado river flows southwest away from the Gulf of Mexico. It pretty much peters out in Mexican reservoirs. Only occasionally reaching the Gulf of California. See I am not as dumb as I look.
You don't really expect me to tell everyone where my best sites are, do you? Every rockhound has their secret locations. These sites are the product of a lot of research and off-road exploring and hiking. I'm always exploring. I tell people who ask to just get out there yourself and look around like I do. Maybe you'll find even better places than mine.

I haven't found any here. Next time I go I'll especially keep an eye open for them.

You say it looks like the surface of the moon. Now you will get some people thinking that is where they filmed the moon landing.

Could you please tell us where it is exactly thank you
