I dont think the difference is night and day per say, but i think there is enough of a difference that justified the amount of work put into it. Good work!
Hope you find the right recipe with your experimentation. What’s really cool is that very few pickups if any are designed with both the extended scale length and the low tuning in mind, so you’re on to something here! Would be extra cool if you made pickups that fit the original Gretsch Humbucker metal casing so they can be dropped in without having to do any woodwork. Looking forward to seeing where the experiments take you!
I imagine a lot of people would buy such pickups, including me. Another interesting mod would be an evertune to control pitch drift and get away with smaller gauge strings.
man, this guitar has really caught my eye over the last few months.. I've watched all your other videos on this guitar and am just blown away by its quality! I love the tuning that you had in this video too! I really want to know how this guitar sounds with slight overdrive, may be something similar to Loathe's song Screaming? 👀 Thank you for the uploads dude, your work is inspiring! ❤
There’s certainly a difference in tone. Good or bad is subjective so it’s really about what you think! Cheers on your skills and continued stellar content
Bro - I thought you were joking about making new pickups in the last video. Then I see this video that you've actually made some lol!!! Surely Loathe will get you to make some ASAP!
I really love the sound of both pickups, but I feel like something similar to the seymor Duncan scarlet and scourge set would fit the baritone very well. I have those pickups in my mark holcomb prs and I absolutely love how versatile they are.
dude they sound so nice!! i got mine with a push pull knob for split sounds and would love to see you do the same and see what sounds you can come up with!
But then the consumers would realize just how much of the pickup industry is buzzwords and snake oil and we can't have that😂 It's much easier and profitable to just say "tight low end", "focused mids", and "soaring highs" instead of actually providing any useful information lol.
@@Slamthulhu Here's the thing though, you can do both. Celestion and Emminence both do so with their speakers. You can hire 18th century poets to write your product descriptions whilst providing useful data.
@@RubyRoks While that is true speakers make A LOT more of a difference than pickups though, in my experience the speaker/cab makes up like 80% of the tone, while pickups make up maybe like 5% **at best**
You’re in uncharted territory, which also makes it exciting to navigate I’m sure. I look forward to seeing more updates until you find the pickups you think are the best for this guitar. Have you ever thought of putting in an evertune? I know it would be a bitch, but it would be interesting to see.
How to: making your boss jealous 😅
Erik: Oy where’s my set?
"How do these pickups sound? :)"
*produces the best noise I've ever heard on a stringed instrument*
I can see Erik be like: "okay Rayn, let me have a pair of those" 😂

Those pickups sound great. I would love pickups like that for my 30"baritone
I hear a big difference! Magnets do a huge deal as well! Dropping the height just a tad bit more would clear it even more! Awesome work!
I just ordered mine, I’m so freaking hyped, you’re helping keep that hype train going 😤
All the videos you've done so far are so interesting. Thank you, Ryan

Loving the baritone video series!
sounds very balanced
I just bought one of these 🤤 I can’t wait to play it

7:00 my jaw just about hit the ground 😮

they're both good, but kinda like the Stock Pickups more. Great Job bro! keep at it!
Great Video ❤ Actually liked the stock PUs more but that’s just personal taste
Just ran the DIs Through my setup, And those pickups are HUGE! Really Great Job Man!
New sub due to your awesome content! Over the top with your humbucker build and frequency response sweep! 🤘

Getting this one because of you so good.

Great video Ryan!
They sound great, to suit the aesthetic you might consider putting a filtertron style pickup covers on them?
I imagine a Gretsch signature model with fullsize humbucker routing.
You have no idea how badly i wish pickup companies would just make frequency response plots of their pickups.

@@Slamthulhu I don't disagree. I'm just saying an informed consumer is better for the market
Buen aporte. Me quedo con las pastillas originales de fábrica. Saludos desde Chile.
You should have tried clipping the edges of the ears on the pickups themselves. They sound great though.
Loving the content! I really need one of those baritones now...

Sounds massive
Yippee!!!!
What are the inductance and capacitance values for each pickup (and their overall impedances)?
please upload more i love yuor videos and would you recomend the baritone(i love loathe and lower tuning)
Can you make a version of those pickups that doesn’t require extra routing or chiseling?
So awesome i would love to learn to make pick ups well done! Earned a sub from me!
Sounds really good, just bought one, I’m gonna have to change pickups cause yours sounds too good.
Yuuup. Need
Hear me out…..P90’s 😅
pickup company when?
Why not rewiring the gretsch pickup to your spec, instead of building new one and go through butchering your new guitar
Because modding and experimentation is fun! And I prefer having the sound of the full sized humbucker over the stock mini humbucker
The originals had a nice nastiness with your distortion. Your pickups were tamer to me.
not worth the work bro
