    You're the first one that ACTUALLY HAS A SIMPLE BULLET JOURNAL and, after being blocked half yesterday just with starting, I wanna kiss you on the forehead. For real. Sorry for the uppercase block but I needed it. I saw your first one and I clicked just because it was short. Literally. And it was amazing and this is even better, yay. You give me peace, thank you

    Really glad the YT algorithm led me to your videos/channel. Really enjoy your bullet journal videos. Finding someone who uses it intentionally, realistic, non perfect but with humor is so hard when the community is flooded with “beautiful” designs. I love the idea of incorporating stickers. A simple and perfect way I can see myself doing as well. Subscribed bc I enjoy your content. Thanks!!

    Hi Simie. I watched your bullet journal videos multiple times while taking some notes to discover my own bullet journal style. I’ve decided to adopt some of your methods and also your wife’s. I failed my first attempt to do bullet journaling a few years ago when I was overwhelmed by all the artistic and perfect spreads everyone was sporting - something I could never replicate. This time, I am focusing more on what I want to achieve with this journal and your videos were a great starting point. Thank you! 🎉

    I request permission to play the role of unsolicited advise provider. Thank you. The eating out stuff, people (me) eat out because you're hungry and tired and there is no food. Rather than a "dont do this" goal, I'd do a "do this" (groceries and meal planning) goal. Plus, I tend to dismiss prohibitions because one was born a rebel, but if you give me something to do, I may actually do it.

    • @natl4517
      @natl4517 Год назад +5

      this is a greeaaaat suggestion!! I actually do want to make goals pertaining to cooking but i'm not quite there yet because I needa figure out how to make grocery shopping less painful first 😂😂😂 However, i will say I'm already noticing the benefits of the "don't" because now i'm being more intentional with where and when i'm going, to make it extra worth ittttt.
      Please continue to request and grant yourself the unsolicited advice role because this is a 💡 moment 🧡

      Omgg I'm the same ! I actually hate habits or goals where I prohibit myself too. I realised this and always try to set goals where I have to do something too 😄. Even if it's the worst day I'm having, it's always way more affirming and validating for past me to believe in myself ❤ !

      I don't know if you guys have Instacart or another grocery buying and delivery service, but when I am at the end of my rope and/or the weather is bad, I have been known to order groceries online and have them delivered. You don't have to order a lot, I just order enough to tide me over a few days. Cons: it costs more because of fees, etc, so I don't do it often. Just a thought.

I really like it though and thanks to your encouragement to try, then try something else, I am must less worried about messing it up. In one of your earlier videos, you shared a messed up page and that was priceless.

      Thank youuuu. So i just go straight across one page at a time (meaning 3 days go by and then i move down to the next row) and the weekends just land wherever they land, which hasn't been a problem for me. Since i'm using the 2nd edition of the bullet journal, it already has dots to divide the page into thirds so setting this up is a breeeeeze. Hope this helps!

    I love that you blur out things and keep them private from us! It is NOT our business every goal you have or thought you have or whatever. It's generous of you to share your BuJo practice because it all helps those of us who haven't quite got there yet. But I think YT (and all social media) will suck you up if you share everything with us and that's not good for people's mental health IMO. So although I am *dying* to know what Abbey looks like (e.g.), it's great that this is your channel and we don't need to know! Yay!, go you and boundaries, Simie!
    Thanks for the tips about the Sharpie S-Gel. I'm still using Pilot Frixion gel pens because they're erasable and come in a lot of different colours which brightens things up a bit, but I'm open to trying new things and will be trying the Micron pen you use now as well as the S-Gel pens in future. I also saw a pastel grey highlighter pen (Stabilo Boss, I think), which I also fancy for a subtle highlight for headings that will be great if I decide to go with a really simple black and white and shades of grey, to keep things really functional and minimalist, instead of going for pops of colour here and there. But I guess these practices just evolve as you go along.

    Hmm, I think I just rewatched this video again after many months. While I usually can’t stand all the art projects people post videos about, there is something I like about your stickers. Perhaps it’s because they remind me of doodles in the margins of a journal, which I have been doing for over 50 years. In my working days I had to keep a planner, but it was never quite right for me. Fast forward to being retired several years and I don’t need a work planner anymore. Instead I just need to keep a simple task/notebook/calendar as a way to keep me from falling down the rabbit hole 🕳️ of the internet/ social media. This past year I’ve been doing a very simple bujo in a a pocket Field Notes sized notebook (rotating between Moleskine, a FN knock-off I had leftover in a drawer, & next month a gifted National Parks version of FN) with about a quarter of year in one FN booklet. I doing a sort of journal-journal 📓in a cheap A5 sized hardback book with grid or dot-grid paper, writing 3 pages a day brain dump to clear my mind similar to Morning Pages, except I rarely write in the morning. When I get stuck on what to write I allow myself to doodle for a few minutes… usually that’s enough to get my brain stimulated to write ✍️ again. 📓

      For my first journal i used it for two years and it just so happened to fill up at the end of the year in good timing. When i started my second one, the same thing happened again and filled up at the end of the year in good timing.
      Now, if i were to still have space in a journal before the end of the year, I would just start a new one out of preference. It's totally up to you tho! I've done both and it didn't effect the purpose.

    This is so random but why not clip through the loop instead of trying to force the entire pen? I don’t have any fancy notebooks with pen loops though…

    I love how you said you lied I do that every time I’m like next time I start a new one I’m going to I like and I love your little sidebar so you remember to take your medicine I am the same way I can’t remember. Did I take it? Did I not take it? I don’t know will I die if I take it twice I thought about ordering one of those things where you push the button over and it goes on the pill bottle to see you took it I’m thinking how old am I that I already forgot if I taking a pill in the last 24 hours

    Yes, RUclips needs more "how this supports my goals" bujo content, not washitape demos. I want info about lessons learned from bujo reflection, not time lapses of water color painting a DIY planner.
