    OMG. I have watched at least 50 Bullet Journal videos. I felt overwhelmed by the focus on visual creativity, all the artwork, focus on superfluous tasks, and time-consuming set ups. In your videos, you provide relevant information, how to capture the essence of what is important to me and how to use my journal, so it serves me, rather than me trying to fit my life into someone else's Time management system. I love your sense of humor. (I have seen inappropriately silly and very droll BUJO video) I like your balance between irony and heartfelt reflections. Also, your content is well organized and broken down into understandable bits. Thank you for sharing your journey. (I get my notebook, pens, and stickers tomorrow!)

      I got stuck in that rabbit trail of bullet journaling for SO LONG. I’ve had to come back and refresh my relationship with my journal. NO RULES!! NO PRETTY LAYOUTS (unless that’s what I want today) SCRAWLED LISTS! WHEEEEEEEEEEEE! CHAOS… kinda.

    For some insane reason, RUclips has stopped showing me your videos until this one today - and I fell on it like a thirsty woman in a desert, Simie! What a relief, more good sound sense from you, "quirked up" with your sense of humour and excellent editing. Just what I needed, I cannot tell you! But I should mention that I found Ali Abdaal pretty early on, too, so I predict great things for your channel and will be sharing it whenever I can. I also will make sure I seek out your videos instead of waiting for YT to show me just because I'm subscribed and think that they should. I won't be missing them again. Thank you very much for this one.

    I just watched your entire 13 video playlist over the past couple hours. 🙂 It was really neat to see the evolution of your bullet journaling, with the things that stayed consistent and what changed.
    I’ve been considering bullet journaling for the past week or so, but your videos (I came across a random one yesterday) are what specifically, finally prompted me to buy a dotted journal, micron pens, and (I’m very excited for this point) stickers today! Thank you SO much for all of your content. It’s so relatable, funny, and so so informative! I really like your journal set up, and will likely copy a good portion of it. It makes me feel like starting out will be mostly manageable and not so intimidating. 😊

    A thought on your Rapid Learning. You shared you’ve never gone back but still feel good writing it down. I would call this “EoD Brain Dump” or “End of Day Brain Dump.” Helps your brain get it out to make more room. We all feel good after a good “dump”, even Toby 😜

    I've always wanted to try Bullet Journal methods and think they are fantastic. But the full approach seems overwhelming and more than I typically need. Or maybe just more than my struggling brain can handle right now? But I really enjoy watching videos to learn a bit more about the process and I've plucked a few bits and pieces from some videos to integrate into some planner pages that I'm working on setting up for myself.
    One thing that was super useful for my mind was something I got from another RUclipsr (Notebook Overload) who is very into Bullet Journals but also very honest about struggles with mental health and other things. It's very refreshing! But anyway... In one of their videos they commented that sometimes for a day where you are struggling to create a "done" list instead of a to do list. Celebrate the little ways you got through the day. This way you can still have some time with your journal but hopefully not get hung up on "failing" at something. Hopefully that makes sense!
    Anyway... Not sure why I felt the need to put that specific comment on this video but here we are. I somehow stumbled across your channel and have been working my way through all of your videos. Loving it and even signed up for the newsletter. :)

    I loved this video ❤️ !! Gonna go try your new layout now after loosing inspiration to use my bujo for a while. I also recently moved time sensitive tasks to a tasks app which has been helping me a lot with reminders but I find that for non time sensitive goals related to deeper work , a bujo layout helps a LOT especially having limited space so that I dont overplan. Its been a lot of trial and error but I'm hoping this hybrid digital - analogue system will work for me !!
    Also you made a great point about setting the bar super low so that we just start. I've often found that its the same with me and unless starting that specific habit or task is something I've been doing for a while , I cant make very specific goals for it which seem very intimidating

    Really good video and well thought out! I like it ^^ (but but but am I the only one thinking that the avocado was still good? I’m sorry you had to witness that 😂 it was in fact very rotten. If it makes you feel better: I purposely picked the most squishy feeling one at the store, with hollow sections and all. Then I regretfully taste tested the seemingly okay looking green parts to see if I could get my $3 worth still. No. 😂

    How in advance do you set up the daily highlights? Is it something you do over coffee the morning of, or you give yourself general guidelines for the week ahead?

    • @SimieIriarte
      @SimieIriarte  Год назад +7

      Dang! So the answer to this question was originally in the video but didn’t make the final edit 🤦🏾‍♀️ anyways, I usually take like a minute to decide either the day before or the morning of to choose. But if I have dead lines I’ll write in things around that ahead of time, but never more than a few days in advance. Hope this helps!!

    This was a really great video, so happy to have discovered your channel! I use a hobonichi cousin planner and always use mainly the daily pages and never found a big use for the monthly spreads. Your system is a great way to use my monthly spreads.
    Question: do you fill out your daily highlights for the entire month at a time or on a day to day basis?
    Best wishes from france❤

    5:05 what does it mean to schedule a new highlight “one daily highlight at a time”? Does this mean instead of adding “work out” to 3 days/week for the whole month, you just put it on the next day you want to try getting it done? Then repeat after that day comes?
