Thats the depressing thing about them. Theyre just... Hardcore versions of the road cars. But its still the same car underneath. Its depressing that, with a 911 GT3 RS, you think, ah, i just put some race slicks on for track days and its a basically a race car, but it just isnt. You get out there, and it rolls, it almost feels floppy cause its nowhere near stiff enough, and all of that "aero" turns out to be miniscule because the rear wing has next to no angle, and the front splitter is about 8 inches off the ground preventing any real venturi effect from happening because there is practically nothing sealing the underbody air pressure... And then you realise that youre much better off spending a fraction on a radical.
Well an M3 isn't a real race car either. Maybe because real race cars (rally cars excepted) don't work on public roads that well. The suspension settings that make a car work on a track make the car at least uncomfortable if not undrivable on bumpy public roads!
