I'm a firm believer that RED VELVET and AESPA wouldn't have there kind of music and concept now if it wouldn't for this group. They were literally both in name and essence SM's the Experimental Group (they were literally introduced that). F(x) showed immense success and popularity despite the unique concepts and that made SM ballsy to went out of the trend and create their own path with their next groups. ALSO all members were such bulldosers on their own right; Amber the tomboy, Sulli the visual-maknae, Victoria the first chinese leader in kpop, Luna one of SM's best main vocalist, and well... Krystal is Krystal, the very first IT GIRL of kpop. I've never seen a group with such strong individuality EACH for members. They all looked so different and the auras they give of.
I even think groups like NCT, itzy and nmixx wouldn't be able to survive with there sounds without groups like FX to thank. FX laid and built the house that NCT, red velvet, aespa, itzy and nmixx are sitting in.

After Sulli left the group in 2015, no one from the group left, and there was no group activity after the release of their Japanese album in 2016. The first experimental darlings of SM. Fx was the sister group of shinee hence why alot of songs can be flipped between both groups. Fx was probably the most experimental SM had been with one of there groups up till that point, if snsd was the flagship girl group of second gen from SM then fx was the counter opposite of that with there almost electronic and experimental vibe, even the members themselves felt really experimental, amber was a type of artist in kpop at that time that was almost ground breaking and remeber at that time SM was way ahead in terms of groups and artist under there company at the time, and fx and shinee really felt like the future. Nowdays what shinee and fx where doing with there sound and music is common practice in kpop at that time no one was doing what they where doing. A great example is for the pink tape album there was a mini feature film that was released alongside the album which you can find on youtube that basically was like an introduction into the pink tape era, something that no other kpop group before had done on that scale with marketing and merch coming out for just the pink tape feature film. Then for the 4 walls era they did a whole art expo for that album in seoul a week before the album launched, i find fx one of SMs greatest mis steps in the industry because it felt like fx had found there footing by the time they got to NuABo and they where doing well numbers wise but sm just threw them away by the time 4walls and all mine came out. Theres a long standing rumor that fx and shinee where meant to flop as groups because SM wasnt going to initially invest in them as much as prior groups because of the failures of past groups that debut after there monster groups during 1st gen which the mosnter groups being S.E.S, H.O.T, fly to the sky and Shinhwa and there 2nd gen monsters being tvxq, snsd and super junior and the failed groups being m.i.l.k, black beat and the grace (the grace is another mega group that deserves so much but SM threw them away as well), so when shinee and fx debut after SNSD TVXQ and suju initial response for shinee and fx from the directors where they where going to flop compared to those mentione groups, but they didnt so i dont think sm really planned past 5 years for fx or shinee and they where very suprised that both groups became super popular.

Pinocchio is their ultimate song. Many people don't know but this one did pretty well in SK. It's overlooked by international fans though. The lyrics were shocking at that time. It was like a dark fairytale romance story. It's a bright horror story lowkey. You should read a newer lyric video for this one as the lyrics are translated better. Hot summer is THAT summer song! It's a girly pop yet with kind of experimental beat song. The girls looked amazing in the MV. Another song that's not mentioned as much as it should be during summer. Victoria's dancing parts were iconic in this one as well as Krystal's visuals. In Hot Summer she looks exactly like Yoona of Girls generation. The resemblance is uncanny. Also one of Amber's best raps. Rum pum pum another iconic song! Some groups that covered this song lately were Loossemble and Boynextdoor?(not sure if it was this song though). Tennis skirts became a hot item when this came out. Once again Krystal's crazy visuals with red hair went viral. Everyone wanted to be like Krystal. After all she's the original IT girl for a reason. The group is incredible! There are things that are "normal" now but at the time they were crazy to think about in a girl group, they came out of all the stereotypes, in music, fashion and how their personalities were presented in public (which generated quite a bit of controversy). The albums and the B side are some of the best things about Kpop to date.
😢 Watching all mine always makes me emotional because they deserved so much better as a disbandment song... Kinda stopped stanning them in 2020 after more than 10 years (they were my ult) because sometime you need to move forward, but they gave me so many happy years and friends. Shouldn't be hopeful but sometimes I just wish... The group is incredible! There are things that are "normal" now but at the time they were crazy to think about in a girl group, they came out of all the stereotypes, in music, fashion and how their personalities were presented in public (which generated quite a bit of controversy). The albums and the B side are some of the best things about Kpop to date.

😢 Watching all mine always makes me emotional because they deserved so much better as a disbandment song... Kinda stopped stanning them in 2020 after more than 10 years (they were my ult) because sometime you need to move forward, but they gave me so many happy years and friends.
