Fantastic to see. The combination of Warwick, Bacharach and David is up there with Lennon and McCartney. Literally getting goosebumps here.

Great voice and entertainer! I turned 6 in 1968 and liked her then!

I'm surprised they did not do "I Say A Little Prayer" since it was Bacharach/David's Vietnam song. (The other being "The Windows of the World") B & D thought there was enough protest music and wanted to offer something that would bless the enlisted man and our nation. The whole song is about a woman whose man is over seas at war and she's writing to him tell him that all through the day she makes time to say a little prayer for him. Throughout the song she expresses her love and longing and even her worst fear, "together, together, that's how is must me to live without you would only mean heartbreak for me" and "my darling, believe me for me there is no one, but you, please love me too. (assuring him that she is faithful to him in his absence) I'm in love with you, answer my prayer (ie; please come back alive). The masterpiece sang the thoughts of the entire nation. Amazing clip in any case.

She had ZERO benefit from any audio tricks. Just a mic and a speaker. Most modern performers would be terrified to perform like this.

Les Brown Orchestra were pros, and used to playing outside gigs.
      So she had that.

@@Johnnycdrums I wish they'd given Dionne some backing vocals on this stage. I felt she needed some support to fill out the show visually.
