@@jasonkillsformomy but the braking system was totally different. Rotors were bolted to the rim and the calipers were mounted inside of the rotors. Rotors were also steel and probably it was just a design feature because no SuperSport bike has brakes like that
@@sztorm94 Not rotors, but rotor. It had only one. Yes it was an unusual design, but it worked. Don't know if it heated too soon if someone raced it because of just one rotor. My point was that there's bigger diameter discs out there.
I love this and only want to go deeper; more specific data and rider detail please! Nothing comes close to pushing the limits of what is possible than MOTOGP. Thank you!!!
@@gustavoenriquez1299 Toprak in WSB regularly brakes with the back wheel 12" in air so engine braking won't work for him. He rides for Yamaha and there are people trying to bring him to MotoGP.
@@Dave-H Absolutely, of course. Thanks. I thought it was the caliper that was mounted 15" form the ground. My fault. I drive a KTM 1290 SAR and usually end up boiling the rear brake offroad. I can't even think about driving without the rear brake. Obviously another world.
Street bikes very rarely hit 350kmh and typically do it in a straight line. Yes it's possible but why would you want to pay so much for ceramics when you can't use them to the fullest extent? I believe even the Ducati Superleggera V4 doesn't have ceramics and that bike is possibly the best track bike money can buy.
anything can be used on anything, if you're talking about CARBON ceramic brakes to use on the street then it's usually not advised. They have less than ideal cold performance, they only really start working when they are hot, like 500°c hot. Which is really hard to get on the street.
On track where the conditions are ideal, smooth asphalt, best tires for grip, top notch brakes and skilled riders yes, you don't need it but on public roads the situation is way different.
I believe so yes. They use the rear brake while turning in as the tires have the grip to handle it. But you can't use your rear brake without a lever if your right foot is dangling in the air.
Back in the early 90's Mick Doohan adopted a thumb rear brake out of necessity as he was unable to move his ankle far enough to use the rear brake pedal.
why sometimes riders need the so called " high mass " discs? isnt it a non sense in the continuos research of unsprung masses reduction on front end? thanks
I’ve been waiting for a braking episode for a while… so much more in this part of the bike than many people think

This is brilliant, would love more workshop videos!
355mm rotors… 😳
Insane!
Buell XB12 had 374 mm 20 years ago.

Well this is my favourite section from MotoGP. A street rider can also learn a lot from these. Growth for all. ❤
This is fantastic I leaned something new today ! Love MotoGP !!
1:09 even just that tool he's using to fasten the screw looks very high quality
a nickel plated brembo is a thing of beauty
Need more videos like this
Through their innovation and technological advancement Brembo has changed the way of riding bikes and has saved thousands of lives 👏👏👏
How many second the bike take to stop?100-0 kph?
@motogp Kindly include subtitles.
Very informative, thanks for sharing-
No closed captions and subtitles makes it hard to understand the technical features he is describing.
I can understand him without a problem and I am not even a native english speaker
I agree.
@ well I can’t - so what’s your point?
But there were subtitles available - that I did not need.
hes speaking English?
T rex 5?... Cool!!!
Very interesting. Thanks.
Double expansive bike....👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Grazie di esistere Brembo!!
Very informative
🔥👍 thanks
The rear is hand operated??
I want to put that disc in 100cc bike for extra stopping power.
You will be performing stoppies than with no effort.
@@Mr_Upadhyay2004 More likely he would be straight over the bars!
the disc is probably the same size as your tire
355mm? That’s insane, bigger than most cars

what is the material of the brake pads when using the carbon brake discs? it looks like the pads are the same material as the discs
Very interesting!

Toprak in MotoGP would remove the rear brake as it's useless 15" off the ground.
I do not share the idea. Could you provide some rationale?

So in a nutshell, basically, you don't need an ABS.
On track where the conditions are ideal, smooth asphalt, best tires for grip, top notch brakes and skilled riders yes, you don't need it but on public roads the situation is way different.
when the riders are the best of the best moto gp riders, no. when they are your average susan and joe, you do need it.
please add subtitles to the video.
I think he was saying something about brake rotors
How to stop a MotoGP bike?
Pull the brakes as hard as you can and hope you don't end up on the ground 😂😂😂😂
You just pissed off a lot of Malaysians with that Sepang.
brembo perfect
Next : Brembo Rim Brakes
my bikes front disc is 230mm
I love how he can't talk proper English but still ended up being a moto gp engineer.
Too much brakes rip of the rear isn’t it
F1 should make this type of content
no need. because its boring
