Wish I were younger and or in better health. Would love to travel and bang out beads. I currently have a complete fab shop on wheels. Even has a knuckle boom. Now a days I'm lucky if I can do 10 hours a week much less a day.

hey jake. been watching your videos a lot recently.
i’m currently taking an all day pipe welding class, just passed my 6” sch40 6010/7018 6G bend test last week, and i’m pretty proud of that. really looking forward to the tig stuff in the upcoming months.
i’m actually so excited to be done with school and ready to work, kinda bummed i’m gonna have to miss out on this opportunity though! next time…

If I didn’t just get off the road to work for myself I’d be there. Hence I got the job. But good luck, hope you find the guys you need. Good help is getting scarce these days.

Im going to Hobart's in June. Tell me what i need to learn and ill learn it while im there. They let you specialize after 6 months of school. This is longterm but im hungry for this kind of work. love the lifestyle. I want to make myself as valuable to this business as i can. Ill email you too just in case you dont check comments.

17 right now and looking forward to going into welding after high school, already have the certification I need, any tips from some old timers that could help me?
Take advantage of the practice hours in school. A real job is gonna be more critical of your weld test than your teacher
Don't be afraid to apply to welding jobs before you finish school. I got my first mig welding job by watching a bunch of RUclips videos and had no actual mig welding experience at the time.

I'm from Canada, what's single hand, combo etc mean?
Single hand= you do not own a welding rig, you weld with a welding machine that doesn’t belong to you, combo= you can weld multiple styles of welding, particularly downhill and TIG.
@cmpremlap oh ya up here it's employer or contractor with rig. So.e do work what's called by hand which is using there stuff but still contracting thru your company. Also up here if you have a welding rig you pretty much do it all both fab and pipeline. Some guys only pipeline and some only do fab tho
