That's a great question. The short answer is 'Yes'; but not as in depth as I'd like. There are a few companies out there offering machines to make your own birdshot, and they seem to work well. I do cast my own buckshot. One of the things I've been experimenting with is trying to build a 'home shot tower' for buckshot to speed it up. Normally it would be dropped several hundred feet and gravity/wind resistance/physics take care of the rest. Most of us don't have a tower several hundred feet high though! What I'm trying to do is build a short, vertical wind tunnel to simulate a long drop with comparatively less distance.
The Russians often mention a desirable slight taper to ensure reliable feeding, especially in semiautos and pumps. From what I see in this clip, no taper, even almost a buldge
@@homelessman3483 ignore russians who do crap generally in everything and everywhere. Meantime... doing taper is very common in EU countries - do you say EU's have crappy guns too? 🙂

I wish you had 16ga tools. I just picked up a Stevens 16ga side by side and all the stuff for 16ga at BPI is sold out. However I will be picking up 12gauge & 20ga because yeah you designs are definitely superior IMO.
Unfortunately I'm a one-man shop, so I can't really afford to produce tools that don't have significant demand. It's also extremely challenging for me to get 16, 28 and 410 hulls here for testing and R&D purposes which doesn't help. If you can find 50 people willing to put a deposit down plus a source of hulls for me to test, I'd certainly be open to it but that's a pretty tall order! Thanks for your support regardless.
@@TATVCanada completely understandable on all your very real issues with producing 16ga tools. Again I will be purchasing the 12 & 20 gauge tools. Because they are superior in design to other options on the market.
@@chrisedwards9156 honestly idk 🤷♂️ I found this Stevens double and I like it. But let’s think about it for a second. I could use it FB for trap and skeet I can use it for small game. If I cast slugs it could be used for white tail deer. The 16ga is actually quite a decent gauge only issue is Ammo availability. I figured if I had a Ammo can full of bird shot and a Ammo can of slugs. That should be more then sufficient but I don’t want to just buy it I want to make it that way I know I’ll never have to worry about availability. Just my thoughts on the subject.
I was trying to get a numbers from TATV Canada I have a local skeet range down the road from me all gauges are used pretty frequently there since the range is free and has very few restrictions. But I was wanting to know these numbers so that I could help him facilitate his research and development.

Very nice. Solid product.

Awesome looking tool! Just curious have you ever dabbled in shotmaking?

The Russians make crap shotguns so they have to worry about tapers. A mossberg 590 will feed this ammo for years without malfunctions

Is this still available in 20 gauge? Website says discontinued.
Sorry there has never been a 20g version. It's in the planning phase.
If you are still looking over comments: Is there a reason the 20 gauge version of your product line is no longer available? Thank you.
I never actually produced this tool in 20g. It's been on my to-do list forever it seems but I've been working on a number of other projects.
Ahh.. ok. Thanks for letting me know.
Disculpa donde puedo adquirir esa pieza para calibre 16,20,gracias
It's currently only available in 12g, thanks.
I have an old Pacific DL 105. Can it work with that?
Beautiful
How about with a previously star crimped shell?
Really cool. Been wanting to get into shotshell reloading to shoot stupid things with friends. Would make a good addition to the work bench.
Great design👍
Thank you, sir.
Will this work on empty shells? And previously shot shells?
Yes and yes.
