    Thx Paul.First,Im your big fan.No offence I have another way to do this.its very easy
    1. Link camera to Arm,
    2. Selecet camera - Hirearchy - Link info - Inherit - Cancel all Rotate axis
    3. Done

      That way has been around since Max 1 and works well but it doesn't hide the tracks that you want to use in the curve editor. Hiding the tracks cleans up what the animator sees. Using the method that you suggest works great and if you just want to stop them from being used then it would be the best choice.

    Hi Paul! Thank you so much for your tutorials! I have a quick question, that I haven't been able to find the answer on anywhere else: Why is it when you Freeze transforms on an object that the created controllers seem to be instanced to something? I've been unable to find what they're instanced / referenced to, or why.

      Great question and I'm not 100% sure of the answer to be honest. I gather what they are doing under the hood when freezing transforms is copying the current controllers and then rebuilding the controller stack and instancing the original controllers back into the list controllers. This helps preserve any connections to them from other controllers. You can see what happens when you create two objects and instance the Z Position controller from one to the other. You see them both in bold meaning there is an instance. Now delete one of the objects and you can see that the object felt still shows in bold. I think that is all that is happening.
      I use all my own tools for freezing transforms how ever that are more robust for several reasons. The ones built into Max were based on a script that I wrote back in Max 4 for doing this. Since then I have added many features to my own that are not in the base tool set.

    What the added value for using this rig while animating camera instead of using/animating simply the camera it self... Is it that much easier and efficient to use the rig instead of the camera itself? Or is this just more convenient ONLY for people from the film industry that are used to using this rigs in real life?

      My guess is that:
      1. Its a good general tutorial/exercise in rigging similar mechanical devices.
      2. Its probably easier to match existing footage that is filmed this way (if you model it using the same dimensions as the real one).

      This rig setup locks each camera animation trait to be a single axis, either rotation or translation, allowing for easy animation curve adjustments for controlling ease in/out and other traits. Especially important when animating a camera along a straight line that is NOT tied to just X, Y, or Z.

      Agreed with what has been said. It makes it easier to control the camera as a real world camera works if matching existing camera work and if you are doing previs for live action shoots you can replicate the real world camera that will be used.

      It's actually very important, if you want to convey real camera feel, and it helps cinematography (directing) very much.
      In 3D we have "too much" freedom, and is very easy to "overdo" the camera movement, therefore making it totally unrealistic.
      I am sure you have seen a tons of 3D animations, where camera are just flying around fast and pointless.
      This is a great stuff to prevent that, and add a serious feel to it.

    Paul one question, I`m was working about 10 years in architecture under 3DMax, I'm not an architect, I studied a master of animation and 3D design a long time ago (14 years ago), and companies hire me to do the renderings and simple animations.
    I want to make a "jump" into the videogames world or VFX, I check acadmies like GNOMON and the cost of one year for foreigners is around 40,000$.
    Do you think that this type of prices can be useful? because they told me that they doesn't have interships in companies.
    I know that RUclips can not replace an academy but what will be your advice with you expiencie?
    Thanks so much and nice tutorials (really deeply knowledge of 3Dmax)

      First off, nothing wrong with your English.
      I think they have some great programs but you are not getting a Diploma or a Degree from Gnomon as far as I know. Not that a Diploma will mean much but it will mean something to the country that you might want to move to when you want to get working permits. It is completely possible to train your self online and not go to a big school like Humber College where I teach but it will lack the daily one on one that you get from a face to face program. Many schools don't have internships for a few reasons, we don't for good reason but what good schools do have are connections to local and world wide companies in many industries.

      @@paulneale 1st of all thanks sir for the reply , i want to make 360 virtual tour of exterior project with 3ds max , v-ray but i have some confusions about the post- production work in Photoshop, like how to change the background sky and some color corrections. If i uses the HDRI in 3ds max but i want to change the background with Photoshop. is the any specially file of 360 skies for 360 render's post production . More over , when i done the all renders then which software should i use for the add virtual keys for make the virtual tour. when you free plz reply sir. and sorry for the my terrible English. Thanks

      @@pushwindersingh5886 Follow my info graphics on my site on how to light scenes with HDRI maps. If you change those maps after they are rendered the lighting will be incorrect. After Effects, Premiere, Nuke and other post production software where allow you to change the backgrounds as long as you are saving the alphas as you render.
